I've been taking my dogs to petco on Lake for some time now and every time I say it will be my last. They are beyond rude and do not make you feel good about leaving your dog there. Tearra is a problem. She is put out by any questions or concerns. I am surprised she even has a job still. They are overpaid for their service of shaving the dog down without shaping in anyway. My dogs are terrified when they go in and the groomers do not help the anxiety of that. Normally a groomer greets the dog, calms them, is warm and welcoming? All traits the severely lack at Petco on Lake. Save your money and do not take your dog to get groomed here. read more

They wouldn't give my dog a bath because I gave him Benadryl beforehand to calm him down so that it would make it easier on THEM to get the job done. Despite me driving 20 miles and taking the special time out of my day to reserve this appt days ahead of time. Absolutely ridiculous policy, if I as the owner want to give him Benadryl or any other calming agent I assume that right and risk. Petco is never getting my business again. read more

I brought my dog to get groomed here and he had a blast! He was a little nervous going in, but came out super happy. Everyone in the store was so nice and helpful! read more

All animals looked healthy and up to par besides the geckos and their habitat they needed food and calcium in there. One gecko that was in the back looked sick he or she didn't want to be around the other geckos either. Mostly all of the geckos needs help shedding especially the one that looked sick. read more

I was disappointed. The store is crowded and little line of sight down or at end of aisles. I took my dog here and almost had a run in with an aggressive husky since I could not see around the short very crowded aisle. The selection is smaller than petsmart in peoria. read more

Worst experience ever! Took my adorable maltipoo in for a trim. Part poodle so his curls are the cutest thing. I asked her for just a trim and not much off the face. Amber who was new but no one was watching her, shaved my dog balled. He has gashes all over. Face has patches above eye. His ears are uneven really bad. I paid extra for special shampoo and he smelled better when I brought him in. When I seen him I was livid. The staff said "it will grow back" like it was no big deal. So if you take your kid to a salon and they shave them balled or give them a mullet, Would you be mad? Would you want to pay? Now I have to look at my baby looking like a hairless cat for the next 3 weeks or so. Train your people better! I want a full refund. I had to plea for half off and they saying it could take up to 3 days. Never again would I EVER go to them read more

We don't normally shop here a lot and it's been a few years since we've been in. They did have the dog food we were looking for. What was refreshing was the young man who waited on us who actually said "Thank you" instead of "Have a good one" which is what I hear virtually every other place I shop. Have a good one? A good WHAT? Kudos to this man for at least making the effort to thank customers for shopping there. read more

Although I have had excellent service from the Grooming department, I stopped buying dog food due to their GYPSY MOTH infestation years ago. I now STILL have the pesky little moths IN MY HOME. I stopped by last night for a set of clippers and guess what : a gypsy moth fluttered across an aisle I was walking through. This infestation is now in its FOURTH (or more) year @ this location. Thank you, Petco, for providing a vehicle for these moths in my home. read more

Taylor was absolutely amazing today !! She is the epitome of great customer service !! With people like this in your employ your store will go far read more

This place has terrible customer service. I waited for 10 min up front to be checked out and when the employee finally came up to the cashiers, the guy completely ignores me and checks out the guy coming into the line next!! So rude. There were other people waiting too, about seven. Ridiculous. Im going to buy stuff online from BarkBox instead! read more

Store was had to get through because of badly placed racks and items. Did not look clean in any part of the store. All their fish looked sick: clamped fins, wavering bodies, dead fish in most of the tanks, etc. My husband went to buy dog food and was a confusing mess trying to find the one we use and need. We used to shop at petco while living in Missouri and was very pleased with the ones we used: at St Charles MO and O'Fallon/Lake St Louis MO. But was so shocked by this one in Peoria, we both agree that we plan on never going there again. read more

The treatment of Petco's animals is poor. The leopard geckos are overcrowded and many of them have stuck shed and are losing their limbs due to poor circulation. Their reptiles are all underweight, and they sell iguanas (which they are very aggressive, and most likely imported). Their chameleons aren't able to actually hydrate themselves as they have standing water instead of running water (chameleons aren't able to see standing water). The rodent's are much worse. Many of the guinea pigs have signs of ringworm and mites. They're put into small of cages in order to thrive. They often have buildups of feces and dead skin on their feet. Many have sores on their ears that are open and bloody or are showing signs of an infection due to the fact the cages aren't cleaned and they haven't gotten medical help. Their birds are also mistreated with all of them being alone. Birds need company since they're very social animals. They however keep their birds alone, and unsocialized. I had one time where I was at the store and one of the employees took the bird out and it jumped off his hand and hid from him. The store is also very dark and dirty. It looks old, and could use some TLC. If it was brighter and cleaner it would be more appealing to a general audience. read more

Matt. Manager & Nicole in Grooming provided exceptional service to us for MAYA (our dog's bath) at short notice on Wednesday October 30th evening. Thank you Mat and Nicole and Petco. read more

Nichole was very caring and did a great job. I prefer bringing my dogs to Petco rather than Petsmart because my dogs aren't as stressed out by the experience. Petsmart is too noisy and overstimulating. Petco is a smaller operation, quieter, and I feel my dogs are getting very caring, individualized attention. The prices are comparable, but I feel I get more for my money. read more

The store was dark and dirty. I went in looking for fish and look around at the few tanks only to see dead fish in the tanks. I looked around and then spotted a dead fish on the ground!! There is no excuse for that!! Absolutely awful. The store also had a very odd, death sort of smell. read more

We love this Petco. They always let us combine coupons, and if we don't have one, they'll look through their drawer to find one for us. If a coupon doesn't work, they'll give it to us anyway and then deal with the register/system later. Everyone here is super helpful and we always get great deals & discounts here! read more
