Worst service ever! Beware! I cried when I saw my dog Peachy after grooming here. I waited 8 days for my appointment with Robert. When I arrived, he had me sign a form saying I had no complaints -- now I understand why. When Peachy was brought out, I was in complete shock. She was shaved down to the skin, uneven everywhere, with clumps of fur sticking out. Her face was chopped at different lengths, ears cut in random patches. Turns out it wasn't even Robert who groomed her -- it was someone named Isabella. Peachy has been shaking for days, freezing, and looks absolutely terrible. This was supposed to be a VIP $91 service, and they didn't even apologize. Sadly, I believe this bait-and-switch practice is common at this Petco. do not recommend this store!!! i have two leopard geckos which i bought a year ago from this store, but mostly i would call that i rescued them. Overall, if you will take a closer look, the cages for guinea pigs, parrots, reptiles is so small and dirty. Almost a safety hazard. Also, they even had a dead body of leopard gecko, which was already laying there for a long time. They use sand for tanks, which can cause to severe injuries and death for specific reptiles, especially leopard geckos. I hope many people will see my review and will avoid this store. I do recommend rescuing animals from there, because that's painful to see. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Petco for the past 4 years, but after my recent experience, I will no longer be returning to this location. I came in with a receipt to exchange cat food that my cat refuses to eat, and the manager not only refused to help but also refused to speak with me directly. It's incredibly frustrating to see a complete lack of customer service from the store's management. On top of that, I noticed expired food being sold on sale, which is a major concern for pet health. Selling expired products is completely unacceptable, and I never would have expected this from Petco. I'm extremely disappointed with the way this store is being run and will be taking my business to PetSmart from now on. This petco is close to my house yet I had never tried their grooming. My puppy desperately needed a nail trim after his previous mobile pet groomer failed to do so. (They sent a woman that left my dog traumatized.) Marck was the only groomer and he was so kind and so sweet he fit us in quickly. My puppy Cielo is a difficult golden doodle and I was worried. I was even allowed to watch! When my cielo was returned he could only wag his tail and Marck mentioned how well he behaved. I was so shocked because his other groomer said differently. However, now, my puppy Cielo and Marck seem like the best of friends. We are back today for our third grooming with Marck. I have to mention how beautiful his coat has been too. Easy to brush and still so soft. A golden doodle! To see my puppy so happy around him really gives me the security that Cielo is in great and gentle hands. Marck took such a traumatizing experience for Cielo and I to such a pleasant one. His customer service is execellent. His knowledge and love for animals is very much appreciated especially when my dog is my whole world. Thank you Marck and thank you Petco for employing such a wonderful human being. Terrible!!! I only take my dog there to cut his nails , because I'm afraid of hurting him. And in the past I was very happy with their service . Today, when I arrived to pick him up, Maria told me she could not cut his nails, because he did not let her, and even tried to bite. Never happen with anyone else there, and he does not bite anyone!!!! He is the most serene and calm dog!!!He end up having just a bath, and I end up paying $80 and what he really need it was not done. I give him his baths, the reason I go there is to cut nails. We brought our 2-1/2 year old golden doodle to this Petco for a bath and face, nail and privates trim. Although we live close by, it was our first time using the grooming services at Petco. We dropped our doodle, Toby, off at the appointed time and our groomer, Marck, told us he would be ready in about 3 hours and we would receive a call to pick him up. I received a call in about 2 hours and made my way to the store. When I arrived, Toby wasn't ready and I waited about 15 minutes for completion of service. It was busy in the waiting area with several dogs coming and going for appointments. When our pet was finished, Marco brought him out for a quick review. Toby was anxious to leave the crowded space, and broke free and ran out of the grooming waiting area into the general store. I caught up to him, re collared him and brought him back to the waiting area. Marck and I did a quick review and all appeared ok. Later at home, I noticed an area above his nose near his right eye was shaved close to the skin and was pink in color. I noted no other issue at that time. The next morning, when Toby woke to go out, we noticed his right eye was partially closed and there was puss under the eye. We called our Vet and were told to bring Toby in for an exam. The exam determined the cornea of his right eye was scratched and the eye would require several rounds of prescription eyedrops as well as Toby wearing a cone for two weeks. We were extremely upset by this situation and the fact that there was no mention of a shaving issue when I picked up Toby. We called the store and were told the general manager would call is back. After waiting 2 hours we decided to go to talk to the GM. Our biggest concern was that he was aware of the situation so it didn't happen again to another pet, We will not use this grooming service again and warn others to be vigilant when picking up and inspecting their pets. read more

This is was just a horrible experience. I place my order online and I arrive about a hour and 15 minutes later. I received an email saying they received my order. I grab the bag of dog food and make my way to the counter. I tell the lady that I already paid for her to pull the order and mark it complete. She tells me she does not have an order for me but confirmed my last name! I pull the order and show her on my phone and my bank account that I have already paid. She tells me go ahead and cancel the order and do it again... How am I supposed to cancel an order that was already paid. I ask to speak to a manager and she tells me she is the manager. I ask for a corporate phone number and they find the order in seconds and offer me a refund after I wasted my entire lunch break going to get my dogs food and being treated like a thief. read more

Picked up some crickets for 0.15 each and this place doesn't make you buy a whole dozen which is great. Service has always been very friendly and there's a ton of parking. My neighbor gifted me dog food she had just purchased for her own dog after I rescued a street dog . She did not leave me w a receipt but told me she purchased the food at Petco if I needed to exchange for a specific kind. I went today to exchange the food and the employee refused to do an exchange without a receipt even though that is not what their policy says online and the dog food is unique to petco so it very clearly was purchased there. This is why places like chewy and groceries stores are taking over the market. Their return policies are actually customer friendly. We took our small dog there today to get a haircut. Our dog does not have a lot of hair. Just to neaten up and trim the tail the ears and behind her legs. We had an appointment and there were no other dogs there to cut at the time. He told us it would take 3 hours. When we picked up the dog we had to tell him to please cut the ears after having her for 3 hours and her hair was cut uneven. Very very poor rushed service and expensive for the poor job. read more

After experiencing lousy customer service at the Hallandale location, I called this location about crickets and they answered immediately. I made my way here after a long day and was greeted instantly by the staff. The difference was night and day. I asked for help with crickets and the girls at the front were friendly and happy to help. All the questions I had were answered, plus the girl was happy to assist with other items I needed for my betta fish. Excellent service! I wish I got her name but she was great! We recently bought two ferrets from this location. The place offers great customer service (when you are in their store) but I believe they are unorganized. They lost one of the ferrets birth certificates and I have been calling for a couple of weeks now, but nobody picks the phone up. I will be visiting this location to ask for the birth certificate. It really doesn't matter due to having a receipt of my purchase, but it doesn't excuse them from losing paperwork that is important. I also knew that buying a pet from a pet store that they might have some health concerns due to all the horror stories that I have read. One of the ferrets did have ear-mites, which they are now being treated for. The reason I say that staff is great, is because they didn't have a box to put the ferrets in due to running out. So they got a packing box, made holes in it and created a crate for us to take them home. The reason I am giving the two stars is due to being unorganized. I called this morning to have my doggie's poopie rear end cleaned and I got her in about an hour later. They were so gentle and patient with her and did a beautiful job cleaning her, including her ears. They cut the long hairs that were the culprit. They even put a tiny Christmas bow in her hair. This is the 2nd time I have taken my dog there and they are great. The prices are very reasonable too. VERY happy with all the folks at this Petco. read more

However, Petco is definitely the best of the large pet store chains and this Petco is exceptional. I have a cat, a rabbit, and a TON of freshwater fish. I buy almost everything I need to take care of those pets here, it's just so convenient, and their aquatics specialists know what they're talking about. I really can't recommend their store brand dry cat food highly enough, either. read more

Where do our pets go? Well to Petco, of course! Partly because of proximity to our home, but also based on deals and featured items we do like, our neighborhood Petco is a great go to for our four-legged friends, that is, our two poodles and our Siberian husky. We find treats and goodies for our girls each time we are in the store, and it being doggie friendly, we love taking our girls to their haven that it is for them. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, I would say Kurt and Allen are two folks that stand out. The selection of product is vast and complete and the store is kept clean, which has to be a daunting task with all sorts of animals running around all day, everyday. I would also like to make special mention to the dog training services of course, since though we are only two classes in at the time of writing this review, I feel our husky will lean much from Stacy, the local and regional training manager and doggie expert, in my opinion. Stacy is kind and using a positive training method is subtle and kind; just the way our baby husky of ten months deserves to be treated. All in all, when it comes to a chain pet store for food, treats, costumes, critters to have and hold in general, Petco is where we surely will go. read more

The service I received here from Marcelo was really really bad. There were other employees who smiled while passing and asked if I was finding everything ok. There was only one other customer in the store at the time. Marcelo silently walked away from his register while watching me walk up, he left for more than 7 mins and returned with no apology or explanation for leaving me at the register. I was only there for one bag of dog food! He asked did I have a phone number to enter for rewards and I said "no, it's my first time here" he proceeded to tell me the total without offering to sign me up. In general I like this location a lot. Always a fair selection not huge but always a variety. There are a few employees that are VERY knowledgable and very helpful. Everyone else is friendly and perky. I am how ever EVERY disappointed with the company. MyCity must save your receipt and let's be honest who does that anymore? Every store now a days can look up purchases by credit card but not pet go. So there are certain items that without a receipt you can't even do store credit which is unheard of. Upsetting because I do spend so much money there monthly that I can't even exchange a turtle filter that is unopened for other merchandise when it was bought in error. Very unfriendly staff, not willing to work with their customers. I ordered same-day delivery for two items, but mistakenly one item was marked for in-person pick-up. I called the store and they said they couldn't help and were really short with me and told me to call Door Dash. I called Door Dash and they said I needed call PetCo, so they called them too and PetCo again told them they couldn't help, it was my fault, and they couldn't just put the item with the other one for delivery. Door Dash then made a three-way call so we could all figure it out and PetCo finally agreed to put the item with the other, and Door Dash said they would message the driver. The PetCo person kept saying they would not take responsibility for the item though, and it would be on Door Dash if there was an issue with delivery. (It was bird food, not like a live animal or anything, so I wasn't worried.) But then, only the one item was delivered, not the other that I had spent all that time on the phone trying to sort out! I ordered delivery because I have a special needs child at home and it would be hard for me to get there. I know the online order was probably my fault, but I was really disappointed with how they handled it when I called, especially since it was ultimately not delivered. This is my go to pet store as it's the closest to my house and practically never busy. I am always in and out, especially since I know exactly what I need to get. The bag of food and cans I get are in the last aisle to the left :) I've never really had a problem with staff, they have always offered to help me carry the bag of food either to the register, or help me put the bag in the cart. I've even been asked if I needed help taking it to my car. Sometimes it's difficult to find a cart as there's none outside but I realized that they actually keep the carts inside, maybe due to people stealing them (lol) I don't really know! I haven't used the services specifically for pets due to not needing them, so I have no comment on those. read more

Grooming: I've been many times before, but Chris'(a new groomer at this location) attention to detail and the advice given, before and after service, was new. I really appreciated his concern for Einstein, so I will definitely stick with this place and ask for him to care for my fur-babies. I only book with Chris and also Phil. Shockingly for Petco (North Miami Beach) horrendous customer service. Manager by the name Kevin, where do I begin. I needed to do a simple exchange of cat food that would take a few minutes under normal circumstances, using Pals account and no actual receipt. Here, he attempted to figure out the "online prices" of the products and was not able to login into their own website. Then he went to the brand's website (which did not actually represented Petco's online prices as I found out later). Eventually I got tired of all this nonsense and had him wrap this exchange up according to whatever numbers he found somewhere online (but not on Petco's site). I have experienced awful changes with Petco.com lately (will never order from them again) but the actual stores were all right still - until today. Wow. I'm giving this store two stars just for the variety of merchandise offered. When it comes to service and knowledge of the employees they are evidently lacking. I asked two employees who were too busy chatting away with each other to help me choose the dry dog food which is the most soft for a senior dog. I was told that all dry food is the same in softness and there is no difference. I explained that I tried different brands and see the difference myself and online research also points out to specific dry foods that are softer for senior dogs. The employees' reply was to buy it online then. These people clearly do not care about what they do and do not know anything about the products their employer offers either. I take my dog here to have his nails trimmed. They're the closest big chain pet store to my home, but certainly not the best. I try to get to PetsMart, but with traffic and the times I'm able to take him, I usually end up here at Petco. The problem is, even when I give specific instructions, they never get his nails as short as other places so I end up coming back more often. When they do cut them short enough, my dog ends up screaming because they cut too close. Poor thing. Some of the groomers are pretty good, but most of the time, I leave feeling like I got robbed. I've tried groomers outside of the chain stores, but I like that I can shop for things while he's getting his nails trimmed. They have good deals here and there through the store, but chains like Pet Supermarket have them beat on prices for food. They definitely have an assortment of items at this location though. Lots of different types of fish, tons of brands of pet food, clothing, beds, gates, grooming products, etc. If you need something, they probably have it. read more

Here is the deal every month they offer shots for your dogs for really cheap ! It is usually from 2-4 p.m. It is a vet and they do probably around 50-70 dogs each time. You basically wait in a line, and they have different packages of shots. I got all my dogs shots for $65.00. That is really cheap I have been going now for 3 years. It is a veternarian she happens to be really nice. I am so sick of vets riping me off. My dog had a cold oneday so I took him to a vet on Miami Beach. Well, the vet said he has a cold and like a child colds go away without medication. Geeze thanks buddy I had to pay you $125 office visit for you to tell me what I told you. That my dog had a cold. So skip getting your shots at the vet. Call PETCO they all offer the shots different stores different weekends. read more

MEGAN the Assistant Manager is Horrible at customer service. She refused to give store credit because of no receipt or skew number. All she had to do was go and get the same product to get the screw talk about lazy. I had been shopping there for close to three years my dogs even got puppy one on one training there, yearly Santa pictures and I as friendly with most of the associates. About a year and a half ago they got new management and things took a turn for the worst. The majority of the associate I was friendly with and that provided good customer service are no longer there starting with the guy who trained my dog. Drive 5 mintues south and go to Pet Supermarket or 10 minutes north to PetSmart. By the way Petsmart did give me store credit even to the leash that they no longer carried. And I got them at Petco. Oh and I fed my dog Merick but now Wellness since PetSmart doesn't carry Merick. read more

The customer service in this location is a hit and miss, but some of the employees are able to help when needed. One employee searched for a calming device I needed for my recently adopted cat, when they didn't have it she found me another device that actually was cheaper. On the other end one employee couldn't be bothered to help me find a cat carrier I was looking for. Customer service is definitely all over at this location. I had no problem returning cat litter for a different brand when I bought the wrong one on mistake. There was absolutely no problem with me returning it, which is always a huge bonus in my book. The only thing about this store that bugs me is the size of the cat section. It is very little and they don't carry a lot. On a positive side note, there are cats and kittens for adoption at this location by a non-profit rescue group called Smitten for Kittens. (If this group had a Yelp page they would get 5 stars for the amazing work they do). This groups helps abandoned cats and kittens, plus helps rescues kittens from high kill shelters in the area. I actually got to know the group and was really impressed with their operation. I was happy the kittens in this store are actually rescues and not the typical pet store animals. read more
