We took…read moreher to several of Uptown's training sessions when she was younger, and she stays there for boarding when we go out of town, in addition to consistent weekly day care. She has regular bath/grooming sessions there as well. As such, we have had the opportunity to get to know most of the Uptown Team throughout the years, from the day care staff to management to trainers, and they have been nothing but caring, supportive, knowledgable and accommodating. She is always clearly happy and excited to see them, no matter which staff member it is, when we drop her off. When our dog was younger we tried out a few other day care businesses to see what was out there, and Uptown Pup was the only place where we felt our dog was cared for and received an individual focus; each Uptown staffer truly cares about the dogs' well-being and wants each one to flourish. Our dog has anxiety issues, particularly with loud noises such as thunderstorms and fireworks, and Uptown has consistently gone above and beyond to help her with this, including taking her aside from her group to relax and hang out during day care. During her boarding stays the staff has also paid extra attention to make sure she was comfortable. She also has a food allergy and a sensitive stomach, and the staff always remains cognizant of this and makes sure she avoids certain types of treats/foods when she's there. These are just a few examples of the care that Uptown takes for clients. For anyone deciding whether to entrust Uptown Pup with their day care, boarding, training or grooming needs, this probably sums it up best: we wouldn't just recommend Uptown Pup - we wouldn't take our dog anywhere else BUT Uptown Pup.

I took my pup in for his first day. Upon entering and saying it was his first day they didn't really ask any questions just had me fill out a form (that I had already filled out online) and asked what time I would pick him up. The other daycare we've tried did an evaluation day and gave some more strict guidelines (drop off at 9 to ensure full staff is there, only took one new puppy a day to encourage socialization, started as 4hrs but would extend to full day depending on how they got along...) I had previously spoken to someone very kind and personable on the phone. This person was obviously not working the front desk when I came in. I dropped him off around 8am and around 11:15am got a call that he wasn't "interested in group play and kept showing stress signs". I found this extremely odd because my puppy is always a big fan of playing. With dogs of ALL sizes. He has gone to another doggy daycare and at the end of a full day he comes out so excited and then sleeps for hours because of how much he plays. I take him to a small group puppy training and he plays with all the other puppies the whole time. When I picked him up they spoke about how he just wanted to play with the trainer and cried when he left the area. I'm not dog training expert but I know that there are ways to help prevent this and manage it rather than just dismissing a 6 month old puppy that is still learning.I then believe instead of leaving him in with the other puppies to continue working on the socialization they just put him in a crate until I was able to pick him up. The vibe within the front desk area when I picked him up just didn't sit right with me. I look forward to taking him back to a daycare that I know he enjoys. My rating is based on my multiple interactions and visits to the salon. I first called based on a recommendation of a groomer by a friend. I called and asked to be scheduled with the specific person, and was told they are bookEd but this other groomer can help you. The phone was given to a young lady who was in training/trained at this groomer/school. After discussing my dogs and what was needed, I scheduled to bring my puppy in for their puppy package. It included four visits, one a week to help get your puppy exposed to the groomer and the different tools and experiences. I asked several times what the package included and what services would happen each time and was not able to get a clear explanation. I took my pup in each time, and got back a happy, clean, fluffy dog. On one visit I ran into the owner and chatted with her asking for a better explanation of the services in the puppy package and she obliged. I made the suggestion that they provide that to prospective customers so it is better understood. Several months later I brought both my dogs in for a grooming. I was lucky enough to drop them off when the owner was there and chatted with her about the services, and what to expect. She was able to give clear expectations and timing on when they would be done. When I went to pick them up, one of the students helped me check out, not the groomer I scheduled with. They both were returned to me happy, fluffy, and clean. they both looked nice. Overall I like this groomer. I think the owner is very nice, knowledgeable, and provides good customer service and seems to genuinely care. I would happily schedule to have my dogs groomed by the owner anytime. The groomer that I was given to does nice work, but could expand her communication and customer service skills. The prices seem to fluctuate based on their visual opinion at the time of grooming. My 3.5 rating of okay plus in lieu of a 5 star is based upon: - Asking for a particular groomer and being pushed off on a student. - The lack of clear/concise communication. - The luke warm customer service from the groomer. - the fluctuating pricing. This location does a good grooming, and the puppy package is a great idea! Over all I am glad that we did the puppy package and my dogs were happy, fluffy, and clean!

Since 8 weeks old I've done in home bathing or outside hose bathing. Due to holiday traveling and it being winter she got stinky and was due for a spa day. I decided to come in and ask some general questions since my dog can be... particular. Doesn't do well with other dogs (around me anyways), coin toss on teeth, and isn't used to a high power blow dryer. Jeff was at the front and provided me with so much comfort and patience. There's a strict no "nose to nose" contact between dogs. Groomers do not force a cleaning. There are more than one way to dry (towel, blow dryer, or a crate type situation- takes much longer but isn't as "intense" which circulates the air around your pup to dry them). Knowing I was a walk in, I didn't expect a day of apt. He said there was one in 10 minutes but couldn't do deshedding. After further thought, I'd love deshedding but my primary need was bathe and nail trimming so he squeezed me in. Dropped off around 11:20. She was ready by 12:16 I was comfortable and satisfied enough that I took my pup there and left more anxious than she was! She was hesitant but went back immediately once I left. I was counting down the time (they provided an estimate and will text you once done). At pickup she came out as happy as a clam. Still slightly damp but now that she's dry, wow! What a difference. Very satisfied and plan to come back. They can do a la carte services along with a monthly membership - 3 different tiers. The app they have also provides you with the groomers notes and a score card of varying health items which I loved. Highly satisfied with the service, information, patience, and overall experience.

So as a last-ditch effort, we reached out to Dogtopia in Fishers. They had space for us! They were a lifesaver. One interesting thing that Dogtopia does before they board a dog they've never boarded before is do a little doggie meet-and-greet. Your dog just meets some staff and checks out the facility. It takes about an hour, but my dog loved meeting new people and smelling all of the things. It was slightly inconvenient for me (why can't you just take my dog and take my money?!), but I understand the reasoning behind it. My dog loves people but doesn't like being boarded, but the people at Dogtopia gave him a lot of attention and love, which he loves and made him comfortable. He came back home super chill and not at all stressed, which was a great thing to see. He obviously liked his stay!

By the end of the day the dog was just a mess and I really had no way of getting her cleaned up to go back to my nephew's house. On the drive home I started calling dog groomers knowing it was probably impossible to find somebody to help us with little or no advanced notice. I contacted Dogtopia and they told me they could squeeze us in if we could get a copy of the dog's rabies vaccine certificate. I called my vet. The vet emailed me the rabies certificate. 45 minutes later I dropped the dog off and in an hour she looked amazing. This is the kind of customer service that goes way above and beyond what is ordinarily expected. The staff was helpful and friendly and they clearly loved dogs. Dogtopia earned a five star review. The place is extremely clean and organized the other one star review on here is completely unfounded.
