Often it is very hard to find a staff member to assist you, and then when you do, sometimes it is 5-10 minutes before they find someone to actually come help you. Last time I was in, we bought my daughter a new rat, and the guy did not seem to know how to handle them, because he dropped her on the ground. We still bought her, because my daughter was insistent on that particular rat's coloring. I go to this store because it's the closest pet store to my house, and usually I can get what I need without assistance. read more

This store has gone downhill since the grand reopening. The crew before was polite, charming, willing to help, welcoming and just nice people always so friendly. Now, starting with the store manager, to the rest of the crew with the the deception of Mark, these people are robotics, rude, don't like to assist you, and every time you ask question you am feel like you are bothering them. Maybe upper management needs to remove the store manager because she is nasty and just horrible with her customer service and team. I have witness her crack the whip in front of customers and is so rude. Please do something about this, Menifee deserves the community feel and charming individuals as leaders. read more

I am relatively new to the area and I have always had my dog groomed by a small business owner. Having Shadow groomed at Petco was a new experience for me. Samantha is very good with Shadow. I used to give her a bath myself, so I know how stressed she can get. With Samantha, she just wags her tail and follows. I like Samantha because she does a good job with Shadow, especially on clipping her nails. What's more important is that Shadow LIKES Samantha! As long as Samantha is at Petco, that's where I will bring Shadow for grooming. read more

went to buy food for our bearded dragon. first their crickets were very expensive compared to other places. they did have supplements but honestly i don't know how much it would cost anywhere else. but my biggest complain is the live worms. not only were they pricey but both times they were almost all dead! got meal worms and wax worms, and over 80% of both were dead. i spent extra for the convenience of not having to stop somewhere else, then i still had to go somewhere else! so irritating read more

Took both of my dogs in to be groomed. The lady who took my first dog back was very forceful with him. As she took him back I could hear him yelping and they immediately brought him back to me stating they could not get him in his cage and he tried to nip her when she did. Heck, I'd try to bite you too if you were rough housing me that way. I have never had any issues with my dogs biting and they've been to the groomers many many times before. Needless to say I am very disappointed in how they handled my animal. I will never go back there again. Ppl who deal with animals should be gentle and patient. They put the leash on him and literally dragged my dog back there while his tail was between his legs and he was cowering down, he was obviously scared. I took a shot at the grooming services provided and I was stopped before it even began. We arrived at our scheduled time; this is important because even before the appointment was scheduled (weeks ago). I informed the receptionist that my "PUPPIES" get really excited, only to play. I was assured that this would not be a problem and that it was common. And of course, upon arrival, my "PUPPIES" puppies got EXCITED! To which I was informed that no, they could not take my "PUPPIES". That wasn't the real killer of the deal, this lady had me filling out paper work with the only hand I can write with; which is obviously still healing and as I'm learning to rewrite, it is more than painful (100% DisVet). So this young lady, knowing she's not going to accept my dogs...allows me to continue to painfully fill out her paperwork, just to tell me this as soon as I finish... I've never thought that people like that actually survived their teen years. read more

This place is HORRIBLE for grooming. First they do a half job on my dogs coat. They buzzed the top coat but did nothing to the bottom. I could have done that myself. And they didn't even clean his ears. So I go back to take him to get everything even out. They told me it would take just 1 hour free of charge. I come an hour later and they said he's not going to be done for another 2 hours. That's is ridiculous so I rightfully complain. They said he'll be done in 30 minutes. When I go him back, his coat is a bit better but noting close to what it should have been for what I paid. This grooming place is horrible! Horrible customer service. No star!!!! Wet go buy a fish tank heater. All their shelves were empty. After not finding anyone in the store to help me, I waited in line at the register. The cashier told me when I asked if he could look in the back, that he knew for sure there was nothing back there. But they just got a truck and I should come back in 2 days! First, the cashier shorted me twenty dollars when I bought dog food. My fault for not counting my change in front of her I suppose. Same day I took my dogs in for grooming, they overcharged me, they obviously did NOT perform all the services I paid for ( they don't allow you to see your dog before you pay) and they hacked up my dogs fur so badly I can't believe it. $106 to bathe two small dogs and trim the lower body fur on only one of them. My poor dog looks like they held him too close to a fan to cut is fur. There is literally a three inch difference on some places. The poor little guy looks ridiculous. read more

I brought in Maggie, my 3 year old Chinese Shar-pei, for nail trim and buff. Her nails are thick and black and it is difficult/impossible for me to see the quick, so I don't like to do it myself. The whole experienced was pleasant, quick, and easy. The pet stylist was finished before I knew it and Maggie was ready to go. I have had Maggie's nails trimmed here multiple times and every time it is great. I can recommend Petco in Menifee to anyone for a good nail trim and buff. read more

I love Petco I've gotten all of my dog supplies dog training there. My issue is with the fish. We purchased five fish on Sunday we have a 90 gallon tank my husband is well aware of how to take care of fish. We purchased a fish that was in a tank with a lionfish that are extremely poisonous. The problem is I bring my fish home it dies in 2 days seems neurological fish swimming sideways could have been stung from the lionfish. I called the store in Menifee today to find out there warranty policy for their fish. Apparently freshwater fish have 30 days return saltwater fish have no warranty at all. We purchased over $100 worth of fish just on Sunday. The fish that died was a $30 fish. I expect a $30 fish to live longer than 2 days spoke with a store manager sorry nothing they can do fish probably went into shock. Yet all of our other fish are fine and that was the only one in with a lionfish they're taking no responsibility. Buyer beware will never purchase fish from here again read more

Okay so, during the winter months we don't groom our dog as she is only 11 lbs and gets too cold. Normally she gets matted and we have to shave the hair off completely in the beginning of the year. This spring grooming we had just moved from corona to menifee, so we wanted to try to take her to a new groomer than our normal girl. It took 6 hours to groom our dog saying she needed brakes because of the Matt. When she handed us our dog, she was yelping in fear of the woman, taking her outside she immediately had to urinate AND IM TALKING 400 to 600 Ccs for a small dog?! Noticing her left side of her cheek was shaved with cuts to the skin, her upper nipple is now inverted and a wound, she has been timid and skittish for 2 days. I don't normally complain, but that's animal cruelty. If you don't know anything about grooming, don't do it. Please. read more

bought a twin bar tropical fish at this petco in the morning. took it home, acclimated it to my aquarium and then released it into the tank. watched it thru the day until i went to bed. in the morning (not 24 hours had passed) the fish was belly up dead. i took it back to petco with the fish in the aquarium water, and the receipt. the lady said they could not give me an exchange nor refund until i brought a water sample without the fish in it. they said the fish contaminated the water i brought it in. don't you think that if it contaminated the water i brought it in, it also contaminated the water which they wanted me to go home for? i will not shop here again because the fish may have contaminated my water and now my fish would soon die because of it. i think the manager should have come out of the office, and talk to me personally rather than to the clerk that called her. very poor customer service, maybe the manager is an arm- chair manager type that stays in the office until supervision come to check the store out. and maybe each day an associate comes to work, they should remove all dead fish from the tanks before the store opens. management training should improve store procedures read more
