I have been going to Petco in Kennesaw 1570 crater lake Dr for at least 2yrs. I also pay the monthly membership fee. I booked an appointment for my puppy for 9:45am. I got there at 9:50am and they told me that bc I was late (they have a 15min grace period and I was within it) they couldn't groom my dog. When I got there at 9:50 the doors were locked. As I pulled up, another lady walked up and she was trying to get in. We sat in front for a few mins then we drove in a circle in the parking lot bc the door said they opened at 10. When we got in Madison who was supposed to be her groomer had a bad attitude and was very nasty with me and short. I had to ask her to get a manager bc I didn't want to talk to her bc of how rude she was. At this point I didn't even want her to groom my dog even if they would have taken her. Anyway, they said that they were over booked.... (How is that my fault if the system allowed me to book days ago?) they were going to take the other woman who was there at the same time with me although her appointment was after mine and we got there at the same time. At this point I felt like they were being racist. The manager Karryssa had a better attitude and was very apologetic but not helpful. After they told the other lady they couldn't groom her dog who's been there multiple times (said her dog was aggressive bc she was barking) I asked since they were turning her away then can't they take my dog... again they said that they were overbooked. At this point, didn't they have an opening since they refused the other dog? This was the most racist, unprofessional and inconvenient experience I have ever dealt with. The groomers that was scheduled for the morning shift on 6/2/24 at the Kennesaw location clearly didn't want to work that day and should not be apart of the Petco brand. Petco please do better with your staff. They also offered me 50% off to come another day but I'm not comfortable with the groomer and I couldn't use it at a different Petco so I declined.

    "Store Supervisor"

Stay away from Josh, the groomer with the purple chin hair, if you want to ensure your pup gets the full service you paid for and isn't harmed behind closed doors. I should've never left my pup with this seemingly dysfunctional man in the first place. Josh used to work at Marietta Petco and had multiple bad reviews, which I found out later. If I had known, I would've never booked with him. I attached a previous review from the last store. Josh didn't clean my dog's ears properly, and now my dog is scratching them like crazy. He also didn't clean my dog's face, which has hard build-up and hair stuck together. My 5-month-old Shih Tzu was matted, and although I was aware of this, I was told Josh would try to make him as even as possible. The problem is that his ears are still dirty, his face still has crust around the eyes, and the customer service was just horrible. The supervisor said they couldn't issue a refund, even though I didn't ask for one. That was very rude. Josh took my dog to a clear room to cut around his ears, but when he brought him back, there was still wax and hair inside. Then he took him to a back room where I couldn't see him. The manager didn't even know why he took him there. I was scared for my dog and asked if someone else could take over, but there was no one else available. He said I could come back the next day. I live 40 minutes away. -I have gone ahead and reported this matter to corporate. I also have a video attached to this matter.

This is my second time coming here and each time we come we have to wait at least a couple of minutes until somebody comes to the register to check us out. I am unsure why this happens? Maybe they are understaffed? The store itself has a great array of products and was clean.

Okay usually I have a great experience with my dog and his grooming but today was very different. I made the mistake and let the grooming manager Kelly groom him instead of Jake whom i absolutely love. I have a golden doodle so I'm very particular on how his hair should be cut . His ears were mated when I came in and I instructed her DO NOT take his ears low. Not only were his ears shaved extremely low he had a cut on his ear as well which I was not informed about ! Also she took a huge chuck off above his ear but just left the other side . I am extremely disappointed this is the worse experience I have ever had here at this Petco. Do yourself a favor and ask for Jake he is the best . I would have rather her not do it if she knew she couldn't deliver what i asked.

Kat quickly got in touch and we had about a 30-min call, which provided me with INVALUABLE insight into my urgent situation. That information she gave me--keep in mind, I had paid no money for her advice or training to this point--gave me some practices I could use, right away, to make Raffi feel more comfortable. I still might officially use Atlanta Dog Wizard in the future, if Kat is any indication how the company does things. She has a passion for rescues and turning around challenging situations and making dogs (and humans) shine. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The clerk, Eric, rambled on and on about their WiFi being down so he needed to do the credit card transaction on his phone. When he asked me to sign on his phone screen, I saw that the screen itself was filthy dirty. He didn't offer any sort of writing item like a pen. He told me to use my finger to sign. I told him that I didn't want to touch his screen. When the transaction was finished, I asked him how I would tip the groomer. He said he'd have to do the credit card over again. I told him that was fine since I didn't have any cash and I thought it was important to tip the groomer. As I handed my card to him a second time, he remarked about how he and I had both touched the same credit card even though I hadn't wanted to touch his phone screen. He actually thought it was a clever zinger to show me how up on front of the other two employees. When I asked him about this, he got upset quickly. I asked a nearby employee if he was the owner. She replied very animatedly that he was her dad. He refused to finish the transaction to give a tip for the groomer. I have no idea if she got a tip from him or not. I do not think that anyone with such reckless regard for what should have been a basic and smooth customer interaction should be trusted with anyone's pets. The pets cannot speak up for themselves if they are the subject of any abuse. Based on Eric's undignified treatment of a customer settling a $110 grooming bill, it concerns me how the animals might be handled. Lisa Marie's grooming of my dogs has always been impeccable. I hope she is valued by the management and that she can find a place that treats customers nicer.

I figured this isn't something you want to half ass, your dog's welfare depends on this kind of thing. I spoke with many different trainers about their education, experience and affiliations before I found Anna. We spoke on the phone and she told me about her education (studied at a university in Canada), her experience (over a decade training dogs even though she looks kinda young), and her affiliations, (APDT, Pet Professionals Guild and AKC CGC certified). I was pretty intrigued at this point so I asked her about her methods, she told me that she's a "fan of the clicker" and then right off the bat told me how it works and what studies have been done on it. Since I didn't ask her for that information, I was pretty impressed that she volunteered it. Girl after my own heart. We arranged a meeting so she could do an assessment, which she assured me was free. When she arrived at my place a week later, I was a little skeptical, she's as skinny as a reed and looks like a stiff breeze would blow her over. I have an American Staffordshire Terrier who weighed 60lbs, I thought there would be no way she could handle her. When I mentioned my concerns (I phrased it more politely than I just put it, of course) she told me "no worries." She said that "real leaders lead from behind." And that "anytime you find yourself using force against a dog, your doing it wrong." I don't know why, but that stuck with me. Cut to 4 weeks later and Peewee is doing great! We still have a lot left to do, we're only half way through the program, but Anna's a fountain of knowledge. It's amazing what I've learned so far.

I wish there was a way to leave a zero, a German Shepherd four months ago was brought to you guys. I was called about an hour later to come get her because you didn't have anybody to bathe her. That's the first issue that I have it was extremely inconvenient. Let's talk about December 21, 2025 I have an appointment at 12:30 PM. Will you bring her in about 12:15 PM and we get a call at 3:30 PM that Lily is having a bunch of issues and barking through the cage they put her in she had an appointment I'll say that again at 12:30 PM. I was told by the bather that because of so many Walkins and so many dogs there I guess it was a complete circus that Lily was starting to get antsy and I said well we had an appointment. They instructed me to come pick her up. She was soaking wet with cold water and she smell horrible. She sat wet for close to three hours. I was told because she was barking that they would not do any more services with her. I then spoke to the bather she said that she was being antsy and barking, and that she didn't feel comfortable proceeding, this isn't a groomer by the way. Then I speak to a groomer. I guess the groomer that's over the grooming department she said I need to come pick up my dog. I asked to speak to a manager. When I was talking to the manager, I said you know this is the second time that this has happened the first time you guys said that you were gonna give me like a 30% discount for the inconvenience of having to come get her and nothing was done she then proceeded to say that don't worry this one is on us. They didn't even wash my dog. They put her in the tub and pour a cold water on her. She smells like that expression, wet dog. I had to hand dry her and blow dry her for about an hour, she wanted her cage and peed in her cage. She was so stressed out. I don't appreciate talking to the manager because I said I think this is a bunch of BS. Then she's gonna start telling me how I'm being disrespectful and using the whole self entitlement thing against me I never cursed directly at her. I did say it was BS and I did say that it wasn't fair to my dog. That's like my child. She's doing better now so it's 11 PM. She just ate her food. I would not take any dog to this grooming facility. This is like one of my children I've had for the last nine years and when I asked the manager what they could do to make it right she said she wasn't gonna do anything. That's when I told her it was BS and they have absolutely no customer service. I would not take your dog up to this Petsmart. They left her in a cold water. She was cold when I got her shaking they were argumentative. They didn't even try to calm me down when I was upset, and then they said that I will not be talking to them a certain way the whole entitlement factor came right out of that manager. You know, we treat our dogs like our children. This is not only unfair to my dog, but this is the second time that she's been brought up there to be stressed out and now she's had to be cold and the younger girl that was bathing them. I don't think had that much experience. I guess they get younger people to bathe German shepherds may seem intimidating, but mine is a love bug. She is extremely loving and sweet. I have four kids. She's never been aggressive. I've never had no issues at PetSmart but I would not see the Kennesaw location store 282. I will never go back and I will never buy anything from them again. I get things happen but the way that they were talking about walk-ins and all the dogs they had maybe it upset her. My dog had an appointment she should've been first. And with an experienced groomer, they know how to deal with dogs that get excited because their animals, but telling me there's absolutely nothing you're going to do and the fact that you just came to that store and you don't know about the past experiences with them sending my dog home that had nothing to do with her being aggressive over getting excited that was they didn't have a bather that day now they're going into a totally different stance of now she's getting too excited. I have nothing else to say I will never be back. This is the longest review I've ever written in a second me it makes me sick to my stomach. If you value your little children, your little animal, I would not take it to PetSmart and I see some of these reviews that are you know five stars I wouldn't be surprised if these people didn't work for PetSmart the way they treated my dog was just it was very not acceptable. Customer service was horrible and Tamika or Annalise or whatever her name was was extremely unprofessional.

My wife was not convinced that boarding for training was how she wanted to have Heidi trained, but after meeting with Chase Haggerman at Georgia K9 NTC and our beautiful Heidi nipping her heels with 3 month old teeth, she agreed to enrolling Heidi in the basic obedience program.
