Because we are all looking for different things I'm simply sharing a pro's and cons list from our (my and Little Leo) perspective. Pros, for us - Super kind people! Just down right nice people! - Nurturing - We've known our trainers for a full year and we really feel like part of the family! They are truly the best! Cons, for us - Calendar - I didn't ask for a holiday calendar and was surprised to learn group was often cancelled for holidays that aren't observed federally, in schools, etc. For example Sunday, 10/28 was cancelled because Halloween was Tuesday, 10/31. - Timeliness - I learned an unwritten rule is to wait until all instructors are present and a majority of that class sign up. Most of the time this is 15 to 20 minutes past start time. As a result, you're either waiting up to 20 minutes or late if others are on time. - Weather - I didn't ask what the inclement weather policy is. I suggested having make up days or even an inclement weather plan like meeting in a mixed use facility or school which come at no cost. Too bad there is lots of rain in the summer months that cause cancellations. - Communication - We understand things happen. We just expect more direct, proactive communication. For example, if trainers are running late to group, a text to all sharing that would be most appreciated by many. My recommendation would be to ask the right questions, be really clear, and get things in writing. For example, the group would take trips to the airport and work with the airline to get our pups in training through security and to the gate. I later learned is not a service available since COVID. I really wise I'd have known that they were just sharing components of the program in 2019. For us, each of the cons, commensurate with the price, won't allow me to recommend for others and we won't use them again for obedience training or me next service animal. I am certain this style works for many, and I'm sure it would exceed the expectations of some. They really are a wonderful group of people! Thank you so much Natasha, Reina, & Sable! You'll forever be in our hearts! Can't wait to see you at group next Sunday!

This will empower you as the owner to be an integral part of the process for sustained dog obedience training in Atlanta. Our approach is based on positive reinforcement. You may have heard it called "Classical Conditioning" or the "Pavlovian" model. Research has shown positive reinforcement to be more effective with longer lasting results than other training methods. We help you and your dog achieve sustained, deep-rooted obedience. We use positive dog training in Atlanta based on the classical conditioning theory, paired with an electronic collar-- this is not a shock collar. Unlike a shock collar, an electronic collar does not hurt or harm the dog and is used to obtain a dog's attention. We believe in using ongoing praise to encourage good behavior. The difference becomes clear when comparing a dog that is trained using treats to bribe vs a dog who truly desires to please from the inside out. Dog Training Elite is veteran owned and operated. We specialize in obedience, service, and therapy dog training. We are partnered with the Malinois Foundation that provides service dogs to veterans to aid with PTSD and other service needs. She is extremely high energy and struggled with leash/dog reactivity, making walks stressful and kept us from taking her basically anywhere public. We did the 2 Week Board and Train program. After training, walks are calm, controlled and actually enjoyable now. We can take her to Downtown Woodstock and other public spots without anxiety -- it's been a TOTAL game changer for our family. Everyone at OTCK9 is professional, communicative and made sure we understood how to maintain everything at home. We love that they offer group classes for life on Saturdays to continue reinforcing the training! We also take crazy Luna to Doggy Daycare and she loves it! Cannot say enough good things about the staff and OTCK9 - Highly recommend!!!

More recently, they've gone above and beyond to support me through a very complex and emotional situation with my dogs. They've made house visits, spent countless hours on the phone with me, and even accompanied me to the vet to help discuss medication options. Who does that? OTCK9 does. They are so much more than a training facility--you and your dogs become family. They are always there when you need them, and I truly mean always. Their passion for what they do shines through in the level of care and dedication they show. I cannot recommend them enough. They will love and care for your dog just as much as you do.

They scammed my friend. Here is her post I copied and pasted from FaceBook:…read moreI have been scammed from Blue Ridge and they have put my dog in serious danger from risk of Parvo while telling me everything was fine. They trained my dog Daenerys to be a SD or so they said. She behaved for them and in our 'weekly lessons' but came home not obeying, which I understand I have to learn to be stern with her. They would not train any of the tasks to commands, just cues, even though I asked them to be commands in case she doesn't do or recognize the cues. And when I brought these to their attention, I was told I need training and that it was my fault she still stalked and chased the cats, or hardly ever listened to me. But! When she reached 6 months and started to go into her fear stages I was simply told "She doesn't do it with us. She's fine in public" And they did not try to help her train it out those periods. She has developed a growling habit if people approach us too fast or if someone walks in the door while she's sleeping (math class and library) as well as bark and growl at people that come over. This is a fear response not aggression as her body language shows and a behaviorist has told me. I have had to pull her out of public access. However when the problems were taken to Laura and later Eve, the people she left in charge when she moved half way across the country, the problems were ignored. I sent a youtube video of what the dog was doing, no answer for 3 days. I finally reviewed them on their FB page and they BLOCKED me, so my friend tried, and they removed reviews. While in the middle of a business contract... This is bad business. In response, they have said that my money was given to Laura not them, so they don't have any contract with me and that because she was doing good with them, the dog is ready and relieved of the contract anyways. When clearly the dog is not ready and the growling was ignored. Along with this, and this is the mal-practice, I gave Laura money for the dogs third set of shots since she was boarding with them at the time and Laura said she would handle it. I was told that the dog had her shots, and then later the 4th set and Rabies. Later when I went to obtain vet records from her, the vet she used claimed the dog never had her third or fourth parvo shot. The vet never gave her any sets of shots but Rabies.... My money was taken and the dog put at risk without ever telling me as they said she had all of her shots. She was also sick with the runs every time she returned from there. It turned out to be Coccidia, which they said she had there but it was treated. My vet contacted her vet, and the 'treatment' was ONE pill to fix the Coccidia, a treatment my vet said would not cure Coccidia as it takes an entire bottle and time. This business hides behind its few instances of success, and deletes or blocks any negative reviews or publicity it gets in order to continue to gain Service Dog Clients in order to make money ($1800 if you have your own dog, $4000 if they have to raise a puppy for you.) They train them too young (my dog was taken at 13wks)with questionable methods (prong and e-collar on puppies) with the contract for 6 months telling you that they can train your dog to be an SD within 6 months (most places is 2 years). Then if the dog continues to have issues where the contract says more time would be given, they proceed to ignore those issues and block you if you cause trouble. Blue Ridge Working K9 is a scam and I hope no one else falls into the same trap that I did. Of course if you're here, it may already be too late.

Jumped on every human she liked -- THE SINGLE most annoying thing..... 7. Couldn't pet her like a normal dog because she would bite you (purely out of love, but it hurt!!) Remi (after board and train--5 weeks later)-- 1. She sits, stays, lays down, goes to her "place", heels, comes on command, and leaves what we tell her to leave. 2. Doesn't jump on anything!!! 3. Walking her on a leash feels like I'm on vacation...it's the best time! 4. We can pet her and love on her without being bitten 5. She doesn't chase anyone, nor bark at anyone unless she hears something/someone lurking outside (normal German Shephard behaviour) She's a pure joy and we're so proud of her and the progress she's made. I've taken my dog here Lily for the last nine years. This is the second time I've had an issue at…read morethe Kennesaw location 282. That's the store of Cobb Place. I wish there was a way to leave a zero, a German Shepherd four months ago was brought to you guys. I was called about an hour later to come get her because you didn't have anybody to bathe her. That's the first issue that I have it was extremely inconvenient. Let's talk about December 21, 2025 I have an appointment at 12:30 PM. Will you bring her in about 12:15 PM and we get a call at 3:30 PM that Lily is having a bunch of issues and barking through the cage they put her in she had an appointment I'll say that again at 12:30 PM. I was told by the bather that because of so many Walkins and so many dogs there I guess it was a complete circus that Lily was starting to get antsy and I said well we had an appointment. They instructed me to come pick her up. She was soaking wet with cold water and she smell horrible. She sat wet for close to three hours. I was told because she was barking that they would not do any more services with her. I then spoke to the bather she said that she was being antsy and barking, and that she didn't feel comfortable proceeding, this isn't a groomer by the way. Then I speak to a groomer. I guess the groomer that's over the grooming department she said I need to come pick up my dog. I asked to speak to a manager. When I was talking to the manager, I said you know this is the second time that this has happened the first time you guys said that you were gonna give me like a 30% discount for the inconvenience of having to come get her and nothing was done she then proceeded to say that don't worry this one is on us. They didn't even wash my dog. They put her in the tub and pour a cold water on her. She smells like that expression, wet dog. I had to hand dry her and blow dry her for about an hour, she wanted her cage and peed in her cage. She was so stressed out. I don't appreciate talking to the manager because I said I think this is a bunch of BS. Then she's gonna start telling me how I'm being disrespectful and using the whole self entitlement thing against me I never cursed directly at her. I did say it was BS and I did say that it wasn't fair to my dog. That's like my child. She's doing better now so it's 11 PM. She just ate her food. I would not take any dog to this grooming facility. This is like one of my children I've had for the last nine years and when I asked the manager what they could do to make it right she said she wasn't gonna do anything. That's when I told her it was BS and they have absolutely no customer service. I would not take your dog up to this Petsmart. They left her in a cold water. She was cold when I got her shaking they were argumentative. They didn't even try to calm me down when I was upset, and then they said that I will not be talking to them a certain way the whole entitlement factor came right out of that manager. You know, we treat our dogs like our children. This is not only unfair to my dog, but this is the second time that she's been brought up there to be stressed out and now she's had to be cold and the younger girl that was bathing them. I don't think had that much experience. I guess they get younger people to bathe German shepherds may seem intimidating, but mine is a love bug. She is extremely loving and sweet. I have four kids. She's never been aggressive. I've never had no issues at PetSmart but I would not see the Kennesaw location store 282. I will never go back and I will never buy anything from them again. I get things happen but the way that they were talking about walk-ins and all the dogs they had maybe it upset her. My dog had an appointment she should've been first. And with an experienced groomer, they know how to deal with dogs that get excited because their animals, but telling me there's absolutely nothing you're going to do and the fact that you just came to that store and you don't know about the past experiences with them sending my dog home that had nothing to do with her being aggressive over getting excited that was they didn't have a bather that day now they're going into a totally different stance of now she's getting too excited. I have nothing else to say I will never be back. This is the longest review I've ever written in a second me it makes me sick to my stomach. If you value your little children, your little animal, I would not take it to PetSmart and I see some of these reviews that are you know five stars I wouldn't be surprised if these people didn't work for PetSmart the way they treated my dog was just it was very not acceptable. Customer service was horrible and Tamika or Annalise or whatever her name was was extremely unprofessional.
