I came to petco even though there is pet supermarket by my house, because I went to a petco in katy and had a wonderful experience. So on 3/13 I went to petco on hwy 249 close to my home. It was a horrible experience. I came in to buy several things, no one asked to help me. I couldn't really find anyone to assist me. The cashier shakeira was rude not helpful at all and extremely unwelcoming. No smile or hi when I was checking out. I asked her for help she just points and tells me oh look over there! Vetco at 22511 Hwy 249 Tonya was the BEST!! My dog was seen at the Spring location and needed meds but didn't have any in stock. I needed meds to hold him out until his order was mailed. I called 4 different locations across North Houston and left a message at the Spring Cypress location. Tonya called me back had the meds in stock and offered for me to take them all as my dog NEEDS these desperately to survive. Lazy people (working) there. My wife went to get RXs filled for our old cat, and asked for help. The lady at the counter just pointed a finger in a direction and said, try looking down there. The other lady came by when she was NOT finding anything at those aisles, asking if she could help, but simply advised her to look at a specific numbered aisle. My wife was the ONLY customer in the store, as it was less than an hour to closing, and none of the 2 ladies bothered to walk with her and show her where to find what she was looking for. She finally left and went to Petsmart where she got VIP treatment in comparison. With all the negative reviews here, I'm surprised the Petco organization don't take action, but perhaps they don't care either. Won't be coming back. read more

We took our Chanel to our local Petco because it was convenient. Tiffany, apparently a shave maniac, turned our beautiful Chanel into a rat. We have had many dogs and groomers over the years and never, ever, has any groomer shaved our dog's tail. The hair on Chanel's tail was very spares to begin with and impossible to matt. Everyone that has seen Chanel was appalled to see what Tiffany had done to the tail. The good news is that we won't have to put Chanel into a costume when we display her this Halloween. Needless to say, Tiffany will never be our groomer again, nor will we ever use Petco for our grooming services. read more

This is regards to vetco. One day a while back this dog showed up in my neighborhood we couldn't find an owner and it had no chip.. the puppy was dehydrated and had a lot of matting in her fur. We decided to keep her and we took her over to vetco to get her shots and medicine for fleas and then over to the groomer to get the nasty matting out of her fur. After I noticed she wasn't eating as much she seemed withdrawn then just got really sick and passed away it was heart breaking the vet didn't say she had anything wrong was it the vaccines ? The grooming? We would never know. I called petco repeatedly and got no real response to the situation maybe pay another $500 on top of the $400 we already spent earlier that week just to MURDER our baby. Since then I refuse to go to petco or use vetco vet services. I don't think they actually know what they're doing they just want money. How do you take a dog to a vet just so that it dies not even a full week later. It makes no sense at all our whole family's heart got won over by our little puppy just for us to take her in to make sure she's healthy and good hands just to die. Pressed again. Then again ... After a while, a lady came out to chastise me for pressing the button too much. I bid her highness adieu and went on my way, more than a little peeved. This isn't a business, it's "Lord of the Flies" children employees run amok with no supervision, help, standard operating procedures or structure. It was a little confusing because the app had a button indicating that I arrived for the pick up but the email and window displays told me to call the store and ask for the order to be put into my vehicle. My husband has been so excited to be earning a free bag of dog food after buying 7 only to find out they have 3 accounts for him. He uses the same email and/or phone number every time he goes in. He asked this last time and the person working the register said to call customer service and they'd fix it so he could get his free bag. He called and the lady was so unhelpful. She kept saying he had 3 accounts. She'd combine them but wouldn't combine the purchases!! She said he should have only had one account, so it was his fault. But he never opened any other accounts!!! Most of the employees that I have encountered here are either rude or lack customer service skills. The only time i received excellent customer service was the very first time I went in there to purchase a ferret. That was the only time. It's very difficult to get employees to help you because they are always rushing by and whenever i want something behind a glass, no one comes to assist. I have walked out of the store empty handed a couple of times after waiting over 15 minutes to get help. It took thirty minutes to take him even though we had an appointment. Had an appointment and they refused service after being late to open up and never answering our knock at the front door. Tomball store has been wrought with complications since Covid. I call corporate and made a formal complaint. The manager was nasty and my husband left his mark (hocked a big lugie on the window). We are sad that customer service has been exchanged for a woke mentality at our store. The grooming manager was just plain no help. She hid behind the manager. Will be calling regional tomorrow. Just got my dog groomed here and it was TERRIBLE! We have a lab that we like to take to get a bath and short haircut to control shedding and when we picked him up his haircut was completely botched with nicks on his body and mud still on his feet that didn't get washed. Not to mention he also smelled just as bad as he did before and the groomer shaved his body but didn't touch his legs, tail, or head. Management was not very helpful, making it seem like it was our fault the dog looked and smelled the way he did. Do NOT recommend for grooming. read more

Horrible customer service...already 10 minutes late doesn't even acknowledge that we're standing there waiting on her. Her register was being worked on and when I asked if she couldn't check is in she said no, when I asked if that also meant she couldn't acknowledge us she replied with us that going to be a problem. I told her no but I would reflect that in our survey. She replied she doesn't care about any review you give her. If she doesn't care about her customers and doesn't care about her reviews, I can't imagine she gives a hoot about the animals entrusted to her. When I saw the lady bringing my baby to me I immediately shared with her this is not the cut I selected I did NOT want her bald... So very disappointed. I have used Petco at 22511 State Hwy 249 Houston TX 77070 for my grooming and special diet needs since I got my new furbaby. About 4 years. I also had the same bred that I went to the location for about 5 years before this one. The last 2 visits the grooming was NOT worth the cost. Our groomer today was Tiffany. My pup is 8 lbs of pup. I pay for the day spa package...$75 each visit. Bath, cut, facial, teeth, ears, nails cut & filed, glands and teeth. On my last visit got the same..(do every time) and 2 days later went to the vet...for something, I asked if she would trim the due claws (as I thought they forgot) and was informed that the none of the nails had recently been trimmed. I had already noted that his ears were dirty. So another $17 to cut nails and clean ears. I called Petco, now....understand 2 days after the visit... they said to let them know when I came again. I normal visit is about every 10 to 12 weeks as his hair is like a human's hair. So...speed up until today...dropped him off for same spa day...went to pick him up mentioned about the ears and nails..was told next time just bring them the bill they will reimburse. Nothing about what I already paid. So I checked his ears and nails. His ears again were still dirty, Tiffany the groomer than did his SPA PKG today, took him back to redo his ears...YES I can see thru the glass and she is so rough with him that he YELPS loud enough for me and the other groomer to hear him. She brings him back, and states "I can tell you the due claws are as short as I cut get them with him bleeding". So again, I will go to the vet and have her trim his nails correctly. They use to have a guy in there that did a great job.....wish he were still there. If TIffany was that rough on him and his little ears that he yelped loudly then how was she when I wasn't there. Just called another place that does the same SPA PKG for 12 less. Guess Petco just lost a loyal customer...so sad. read more

It was my first visit to this location. I am not a fan of any trendy hair cuts...I trim my girl short because of our yard and her age. They did good on the majority of her cut but on the finishing touches they just did not succeed. The groomers were very nice and pleasant to talk with and also quick to get checked in and out. I WILL NEVER EVER GO TO THIS STORE AGAIN!!!! So, today I brought my golden doodle in to get groomed and Tiffany (the rudest person I have ever dealt with a store before!) informed me that my fur baby was matted along the ears and tale. I was a little confused, because we brush her often, but I told her I would go home comb it out and bring her back. I brought her back and she said it was still matted in the ears. I explained that I had combed it out and didn't understand what she was saying was matted. She said I could just make another appointment and get her a bath a different day. I was a little frustrated because she didn't explain well and was so unconcerned! I spoke with the manager, Dorian (or something like that) and he explained to me thoroughly what was going on. After we spoke I was reassured and well informed with what was going on, all of which was not explained by Tiffany who was very nonchalant and rude!! Fast-forward to picking her up. I noticed that they had charged her as a "large" breed dog ($5 more) and not a "medium" breed dog as the previous Petco had told me she was. The lady said she is large breed because she is over 51 pounds. I explained that I had just taken her to a different Petco and they weighed her and said she was 38 pounds. Tiffany said "there is no way that she is under 50 pounds because my dog is 50+ pounds and your dog is bigger than my dog!" I politely asked "did you weigh her to determine that?" She said "No, but I know she is!" I didn't want to cause a scene over $5, so I left the store. I called my husbands who was upset about the way things were handled and we went back to get answers( not about the $5, but the way I was treated)! When we came back to the store we explained our concerns and she said they changed her to large breed without telling me because they assumed she had to be over 50! So, she rudely weighed her. After she was weighed the machine said she was 47 pounds. Yes, that's more than what the first Petco had told us 2 days prior, but it still was not over the 51 pounds they assumed she was!!!! Ok, cool no big deal, right? Wrong!!! Tiffany then rudely was like well maybe they put her as weighing more because of the Matts in her tail? What?!? So, the size of the dog miraculously changes due to the condition of her fur?!?! Excuse me. I talked to him and he said her tail was fine and that it didn't need to be cut, but her ears needed to be cut! I agreed with him and told him to cut her ears, but what does that have to do with her weight?!?! So my husband explained that what she was saying made no sense! She then fixed her mouth to say "well we round up!" Round up?!?! How do you round up when you have specific weight ranges: xsmall 0-10 pounds, small 11-25 pounds, medium 26-50 pounds, large 51-80 pounds, and Xlarge 81+!!So which is....do you change the weight due to what you "assume" they weigh or do you change the weight based on the condition of the dog fur, or do you change the weight based on what it is rounded to?!?! I was floored!!! Jacob, the manager on duty came over to handle the situation. Tiffany then rudely and sarcastically says "well you signed the paper so you signed to what you were paying!" She then looks at me rudely and says "I will go get the paper that you signed!!" She brings the paper over and waves it in my face saying "this is what you signed!" At this point my blood is boiling and I am about to explode as I've NEVER BEEN DISRESPECTED SO SEVERELY IN ALL MY LIFE!!! I explain I understand what I signed, but no one told me that they were changing her weight from what the previous Petco had entered 2 days ago! She said "but you signed it!" I had to count to 10 in my head because this was totally unacceptable!! At this point I had to walk away to keep my cool! Jacob, handled the situation very well. He refunded the $5 and was polite during the entire process!!! This was my first and last time going to this Petco EVER!!! I cannot believe that a company such as Petco allows there employees to behave that way!!!! I will contact corporate regarding this incident and I will never return. I'll continue to give my business to Petsmart or the Petco on 99. But I think Petsmart is my best bet! To make matters worse the haircut and bath were the worse ever! My baby looks a mess!!!! The guy lack experience pick up the corral walking with it to go get the bag and then come back for the water . He told me one price the other lady told me lower price and they didn't know what they were talking about so they came ask " the manager " come back with a different price which is higher than what they told me . After that I ask them the price of others they just ignored me and tried to rush me to the cashier so I can get out the store ASAP that way they won't get in trouble . HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND!!! I bring my dog here because of the excellent service i received from Jessica at our first visit. She was very friendly and went out of her way for us. Painted Coco's nails, put on her bows, gave me options and we just loved her energy. I later found out she only bathed the dogs but I still trust leaving my dog here because she always comes home looking great and smelling fresh! Tiffany at the grooming salon was spectacular! My mother and I brought my dog keely in to get her nails trimmed. However, it was only a few minutes before 8 which turns out was also near close time. She kindly let us know that walk-ins are usually not taken after 7 :30 (understandably). Keely is usually a vicious little rat (i.e. a chihuahua) but surprisingly as soon as Tiffany took her into her arms with confidence and care she behaved perfectly. That's NEVER happened!
