first time going there and I did not have the best experience. The older lady in charge that day didn't have the best personality and low temperament towards her customers and employees. when asking her a question about a pet in the store she had an attitude. she also felt the need to scream in her "mom" voice to the kids to stop running. her attitude towards the cashier in training (I'm assuming) was awful as well. Cashier was looking for help and she pushes the book on the table and told her "everything is in your book" I will not be returning. read more

Such a cute store! German Shepard's being bathed. Cute toys for cats & dogs. Even calming toys for your dog! They a had a parrot there that kept coming to me when I called him over and he loved being pet. See pic. Two kittens from shelters for a worthy home. I'm super happy! This place opened their doors just minutes from my house! When you are waiting between amazons subscribe and save, and are needing a bag of dog food going to a big box store isn't much fun. Alas, pet supermarket. When you walk in your greeted by a clean, well designed store. Smells new still! On the right are the pet washing stations. They have shampoo, towels and I think I saw a hair dryer. Slept since then so... but either way. Looked great! They have a vast array of pet food and accessories for about what you'd pay at "big box" stores. Hell the bag of iams that I buy my spoiled ass dogs was only 2 dollars more than amazon. Color me impressed. They have a loyalty program and once signed up together get a 10% coupon for your next purchase! However their systems are pretty slow despite being a new store. Signing up for the card took roughly 10 minutes. They have awesome cat trees. Exotics like ferries, hamsters, etc! However, as an animal lover I hate how small their cages are. I'm not sure how often the ferrets are played with but I can tell you it's not enough. I feel rather bad for em. :-( Past my personal opinion, it's a nice store. read more

So glad i came to this location to spend my credit from the Stuebner Airline location debacle last weekend. So clean and inviting and well organized. Katie who checked me out was super helpful and their tanks are in 1,000 percent better shape than the other location for the tropical fish. Pet Supermarket is so much more pet friendly toward the rescue groups. I'd put a very shy cat named Cocoa in the cage. All she did was hide under a bed at Petsmart. No one interacts with them in the adoption center. Within two weeks after being placed at Pet Supermarket on Grant Road, she was a different cat. She was sitting on the top shelf looking like she owned the place. The employees are very living and supportive of these little fur balls. And the atmosphere is so pleasant when you walk in. Prices may be a little higher but if you join their club, you get coupons and every week they have significant specials. read more

I went specifically to this store to see the rabbits and when I got there, I noticed immediately that one of them displayed very obvious physical signs of sickness, luckily I brought it to an employee's attention but it was concerning that none of the staff had noticed sooner. I then went to look at betta fish only to find that there were three dead in their cups. The staff seems careless and I'm concerned for all of the animals' health and well-being. read more

This location is very clean & tidy. The fish tanks always look nice and have a large variety of different kinds. Abe was really nice and was assisting me in buying new fish and recommending food that would help the fish by not only enhancing the color but also making them healthier. I have never liked a place like this so much that I would take the time to review it on Yelp, but I feel the quality of service at Pet Supermarket needs to be known! I have never walked in without being greeted and asked if I needed assistance finding anything. Every time I go, the staff is incredibly friendly. Seriously, this is Chick-fil-a level service! Also, the dog bathing area is great. I have large breed dogs, and it is a hassle to bathe them at home, but it is so darn expensive to send them to the groomers. This place is the perfect solution for dog owners like me because for $10 per pet you can choose from an assortment of shampoos and conditioners, a treat for your puppers, use of one of the 3 different sized dog baths, professional dog driers, and towels to dry your puppy (and maybe you too) off with. Having recently moved to area and not wanting to drive to Petco on 249 I was pleasantly surprised that this was bigger than I could tell from just looking at it from street. Its huge inside and they Impressed me by their customer service and personable employees whom see to truly want to help you and Welcomed me in. Dont be fooled by the Naysayers on reviews because yes..prices a bit higher than say Walmart or Heb! But they re the same as all other Pet Stores. I was impressed to because they had a vast amount of Cat items, food, supplies, toys, litter and furniture! Alex was Awesome and gave me quite a bit of Good Info on products and food! Everyone was very nice and I definitely will return rather than drive all the way to 249. I typically buy my Cats food at HEB across the street but If Im feeling the urge to spoil my Cat Dalilah we for sure will bring her in to Pet Supermarket to pick out her own toys and snacks! It is what it is folks! if your Penny pinching then dont shop here! Simple as that! and their stuff is just a wee bit over what Heb, Krogers and Walmart have but the Also have more Brands to choose from! Sign up for their preferred customer card! Great pet store, they have a larger selection than most other pet stores and the staff is always very nice and helpful. I especially love their "bakery" where they have an adorable assortment of cookies, and "candies" for pets. The only thing I wish they had more of was a wider variety of individual chews and the prices are on the higher side, but I wouldn't buy regular food here, just "specialty" items and treats. read more

I came to this store to bathe my dog. I have been to other locations and this one was by far the cleanest. I wondered if it was because I got there close to when they opened, but the staff came in to clean up after I washed my dog right away. The staff was also super nice and helpful. This location also has complimentary baggies of treats for after the bath. The only thing they didn't have was shampoo and conditioner for you to use, but I always bring my own anyway. read more
