It's not even funny. They can't keep HELP that's number one! They charge you for every little thing you could possibly want done and then if you want a special time, they try to charge you for that to have your dog ready! That's not even the half of it. I swear he will present himself proudly to me after a visit there saying through his eyes "look how handsome I look!" But so much more than that, the owner and her staff are angels on earth. They love on him so good - so much so that they are all part of our family. We made the tough choice today to say goodbye to our old man - 22 years old! We brought him to the Soapy Dog to say goodbye to his fan club. And all of them cried with us and comforted us and loved on him for the final time. They are a remarkable group of people and I would recommend their services (and friendship) to anyone.

When I called to make an appointment I was told that there was no availability for about a month. About a week prior to my appointment an employee called and said they had a cancellation so I was able to get my dog's haircut sooner. A day or two before my originally scheduled appointment I received a text notification reminder in reference to my initial appointment. I left a message stating I had already came and did not get anymore notifications about that appointment. The business is small and located downtown Knightdale. There is street parking in front of the business. Two chairs were located near the front counter and front door to sit and do paperwork. There are several pictures of dogs on the wall and there is a room located behind the front counter where the animals are groomed. When I arrived I checked in and had to fill out paperwork for my dog. I was also asked if it was ok to give my dog a treat. I was advised that for the appointment it would take 4 hours. When I dropped my dog off Johnell advised me that it would be longer. I was called approximately 4.5 hours after I dropped my dog off. Johnell asked me what type of cut I wanted and did a good job grooming my dog. When I went to pay I was charged extra because I was told that my dog moved a lot during the appointment.

After returning home, we discovered a deep cut on the paw pad of her right hind leg that was actively bleeding. This injury was not present before the appointment. Since we don't wear shoes at home for sanitary reasons, we also wipe our dog's paws after every walk, which means we inspect them multiple times a day. No one at BarkSuds informed us of the injury at pickup. When we contacted the business that same day, the owner, Shelley, insisted the injury could not have occurred at their salon. She explained that her staff would have reported it and that she would have seen blood on the camera footage. However, her explanations failed to address the timing of the injury and the veterinarian's confirmation that the cut was consistent with a sharp object The vet also noted that our dog's ears were still wet the day after the grooming appointment and raised concerns about the risk of ear infections. Shelley also repeatedly referred to our dog as "he" despite multiple corrections, which is a minor mistake on its own but reflects a greater lack of attention to detail. Taken together, these issues leave us with little confidence that the care or the investigation was handled thoroughly. We attempted to resolve this matter privately and amicably, requesting only a service refund and a reimbursement for documented veterinary expenses. The total was under $150, yet BarkSuds declined to take any responsibility. Given the lack of attentiveness and accountability, I cannot recommend BarkSuds to any pet owners.

My 15-month-old pup needed somewhere to spend the day other than her crate. This was the second daycare I called, and they were so sweet and understanding about my last-minute situation, and I was able to drop her off for her first day just 20 minutes later, around 8 am. Little pup had a blast at Ruff Housing, while I ran around like a maniac. Picked her up at the end of the day at 6:30 pm, and I could tell she had a blast. Everyone is so friendly to customers and the dog. You can tell they really care. They also offer boarding, grooming, and training packages (training looks like it is at another location, but may be worth the drive, and we will be trying that out soon!). I took her the following week for another day, and she wiggled with excitement when she recognized where we were. I will definitely be bringing her back for more daycare needs in the future.

Their staff is extremely friendly and professional. They did so many little things to make me feel extremely welcoming, like their welcome board and report cards. My dog also loves playing here. He followed and stayed with the staff in the playroom all the time. I can tell he got tons of pet from her. I am also really impressed with the transfer process. Since my dogs go to our local Dogtopia very often, I request a information transfer so that I do not need to go through the entire initial evaluation. My local Dogtopia and Dogtopia of Harrison Ave had a very fast and efficient communication and helped me finish the transfer process within 5 hours.
