Very rude, dismissive and unprofessional staff. My daughter was ready to pick out her fish, the very "busy" MANAGER (named Hailey) was on her phone arguing with her boyfriend. Literally on the sales floor.. I could hear him yelling on her phone from the end of the aisle. We waited for close to 5 minutes of this before I said excuse me, could we get some help please. She told us we could go to another location if we would like that she was busy and she walked off! I would avoid this location as this is unacceptable. Went outside ordered online for store pickup and rec. the final for 14.00. Saving 11.00 - order was ready, went inside - order wasn't a the front. All in all - the time it took to re-place our initial bag; repick it up - right the online order, affix it to the bag, our wait 20-30 min. plus wait while picking up could all have been avoided by honoring the online price. ? I went into the store to look at fish. Fish section for 20 minutes and no one came up to me. I saw the woman look at me, then go to the register to have a personal conversation with the boy standing there. Finally as I go to look for somebody, I approach the register they don't say a word and look bothered because I interrupted them. They refused to groom my Miniature Pinscher for mild seizures at the Petco in the Presidio shopping center. This is odd considering I've been a customer of Petco since 2012 and have taken my dog to another store in Houston since 2013 without a problem ever. The manager said she's very strict. MY DOG IS INJURED!!! This is my first review ever, I usually don't have bad experiences in most places I go. I am writing one for the first time now because I care about animals and I don't want another pet owner leaving their pet here. I took my 2 dogs here for the first time, one of them for grooming and another for a bath. They were not able to groom my first dog because he was apparently moving too much. He's a tiny puppy so he might have been more active and nervous, but it's literally they are paid to do. This is my 3rd puppy and I have never experienced this with any pet groomers. They said they gave him a bath, but I highly doubt it looking at how the white fur in his face and legs are still dirty. Im positive they just sprayed him with some substance that makes him smell good and charged me for it. If not then they are incompetent at giving baths to small dogs. The worst part of this is my 2nd dog. She just got a bath and nail trim. I think did a good job with the bath but her toe nail is BLEEDING!!! And a lot too. Theres blood coming out of her toe nails all over the car seat and it seems shes in pain cause she keeps licking it. I have never had this happen to any dog from any pet salon. This is actually crazy. They are literally incompetent at their job. Doesn't help that you have to wait at their front desk for 10+ min just for one of them to greet you. 0/5 Star. The grooming department is horrible I mean horrible!!!! I got a call saying that my puppy who is 11 months old was being difficult and nipping and not letting the groomer misty do her job. She called and let me know before I pick up that the haircut was incomplete because he was being difficult which I understood no problem I totally understood . So when I arrive there is a lady named Alexis at the counter where I pick up the slip at the grooming station, She had a very nasty attitude she does not deserve to work there and I will be reporting her to corporate. Off the bat when I arrived she started going in on me telling me oh well you need to take better care of him because he was matted, I simply let her know the dog is not in my care it was in my mothers care! Regardless of how I brought the dog and I let misty know that My dog's Hair was matted on his legs., I even took it upon myself to cut most of the hair that was tangled before I brought them to make it easier on the groomers. I went the extra mile and I didn't have to ! I'm paying for a service that I expect to be completed. Fast forward when Alexis was getting mouthy at me at the counter she showed no type of respect and I was nice to her up until the point where I let her know that my dogs nails weren't even clipped which Misty failed to tell me she could not do over the phone. Maybe she forgot I do not fault her for that but what I do have an issue with is Alexis's attitude! She is very unprofessional and I wouldn't even trust her with anyone's pet let alone mine. She offered to call a manager for me which I patiently waited, didn't say a word to her after the way she spoke to me. So the manager arrived ( Amanda ) And Alexis still Tried to go back and forth with me in front of a superior. Which was very unprofessional on her behalf. I applaud Amanda for remaining professional and hearing me out and giving me some sort of discount for an inconvenience at this point it's not even about paying for the incomplete grooming, She gave me a 50 percent discount in my eyes for a lack of customer service. We adopted our precious Lucca (5 yr old Bichon Frise), in July of 2018. From the beginning, we were told by many groomers, that he was aggressive and unmanageable. Lucca had a rough beginning and he was abused, do he suffers from anxiety really bad. I took him to Petco for a grooming appointment, already feeling discouraged, thinking they would not be able to service him. (Lije the previous places I had taken him to). To my surprise, a sweet lady serviced him and she was so sweet, patient and genuinely friendly with him! She did a wonderful job! Twice now, she has serviced him without a problem. She is the best groomer! I am bad with names, but I think her name is Misty. Thank you Petco, for having a true expert, working with dogs. I LOVE this PetCo location. I bring my 2 short hair chihuahuas here for the full bath service every now and then. I'm usually able to get an appointment the same day. Sometimes, I've been told I could come in as soon as I hung up the phone. The groomers really take care of my 2 babies and sometimes they dress them in little cute accessories! Debbie is usually my groomer but Nichole has taken care of my chihuahuas as well. Both ladies have done an excellent job and Debbie is so freakin sweet! I'm convinced she actually loves my dogs. The store is always clean, the staff is really nice. This is definitely one of my favorite locations. My only complaint is that the registers don't allow cash back. PetCo, don't you want us to tip your groomers?! I hate going to another location to get cash for tips. We should be able to do this at the registers, I can't understand why this isn't allowed. read more

This store just opened today (October 26, 2015). It's so new that it's not even listed on the Petco web page yet. LOL The folks are friendly and the store is very clean and attractive as you might expect for a brand new store. Grooming for my 46 pound dog would be $25 which includes clipping the nails, cleaning the ears, washing and drying the dog and expressing the anal glands (external method). Just to clip the nails would cost $10. Newly opened in Presidio Towne Crossing just off N Tarrant Parkway near Costco. So my 7 year old son had been wanting a pleco for quite some time so today we ventured to the Petco at alliance just North of Fort Worth. Upon arriving at the fish dept I was asked how big our tank was to which I responded that I'm going to start it out in a 10 gallon aquarium and then move him to our 40 gallon tank as he grows. The Petco employee responded that he could not sell us the 1 pleco. I chuckled at first and then after a long awkward pause I asked "are you freaking serious?" to which he replied in the affirmative. He thought our tanks were to small. Needless to say my son was crushed. Regretfully I lost my cool and walked out. Just a little background on myself. I have a degree in fisheries management from Texas Tech University. Needless to say I was a little incensed by the blue haired Petco punk upsetting my son. I will never, ever give them my business again. Our quest ended with a happy ending with Petsmart coming through like a champ. We now have a happy pleco as well as a happy 7 year old. Thank you Mary for doing such a great job with my Harley Girl! She looks and feels beautiful! I took my golden doodle in to get groomed and they found that she had a small hematoma on her ear and brought it to my attention so I could get it addressed first instead of grooming her anyway and making it worse. A couple days later I brought her back and Mary did an amazing job cleaning up my baby girl. She had some matting and they worked really hard to keep her beautiful coat and get the matting out. We've been buying guppies here for a while now. Every time I go in to get 4 for my turtle I make it clear that's what I am buying them for and I have never had an issue. Turtles should not eat feeder fish like minnows and gold fish due to them being mostly bones and that being hard to digest for turtles. Today I went in as usual, apparently the policy now is they can ONLY sell feeder fish to feed turtles. So now you can only sell me something my animal struggles to digest and isn't good for them but have zero issues selling rats and mice for snakes. I called the Petco headquarters to hear exactly what the policy was and I was told because they sell "turtle pellets" they are unable to sell guppies as food. #1. Guppies are a treat like dimes for a dog and #2. Turtles are not supposed to live only on those pellets. They are a filler basically. Ugh this is annoying. read more

I come to this location a lot for my fur babies needs. I recently started a new hobby of getting fishes. I've always done a Betta but after my Fred passed I decided to try and have more than one. In the few times I've gone to either buy a fish or things I need it was pleasant and got the help. But recently I went to try and buy a pelco a young lady working in the fish department questioned every detail of what size of fish tank I had, how many fishes. Apparently a 3 gallon with 2 mollies was too small and denied service. Even after I said I am upgrading tank soon and I want a pelco and she refused to give me a pelco. I ended up going to petsmart and had no issues at all. Then yesterday I went to get 2 mor mollies because I ended up with a 10 gallon and and same young lady and kind you 4 weeks later from my last visit, questioned me and I just told look I just want 2 mollies to add. She said nope. I am not selling you any fishes. You now have a pelco and it's taking up all the space in your tank. I was like ma'am that gosh is only 1 inch!! I said just please give me the 2 fishes I am asking for it is my tank, my personal hobby. She said nope I am not selling you anything. I told her you're refusing service to a customer. She said I'm sorry, but I am not giving you what you want. I believe that if one knows what their doing it is a store employee to help and recommend things to a customer but refuse to give a fish or two and there's a ton in all their tanks?! And most of the time they have dead fish in them!! I'm not ever going there to purchase any fishes or anything anymore. You just can't get any help as before. read more

i recently signed up for the vital care and love it because of the benefits i get with it. However the customer service here is horrible. Every time i come in they always get my paperwork wrong so i go up to the cashier and the cashiers make me go back over to the grooming and get it changed myself. Instead of helping out a customer whose dog is crying and wants to leave and has a line behind her forming they make me do it. So here i am running around and trying to control my dog while getting my stuff changed. Honestly because of the service i get it makes me think about canceling my vital care. I took our Maltipoo yesterday for bath grooming, nail buff and teeth brushing. I picked her up three hours later and she looked the exact same as when I dropped. She is a white dog and their coat tends to get dingy and usually Petco gets her very white, blow drys her hair, brushes her and I can smell the shampoo and fragrance when I pick her up. None of this happened yesterday. In fact when I arrived to pick her up they did not let me see her, the groomer did not come out to talk to me, they did not give me the services sheet for what was done and proceeded to talk to me about tge new viral care program at a cost of $20.00 per month to discount my grooming fee, then made me pay first and after payment I had to ask for my dog. She looked awful...she was stuck in a kennel and never bathed. It was more than obvious that no services were rendered. I called the store manager Clint and he advised the general manager Danielle would call me today. Well Brittany the spa manager called and stated Danielle told her to call me instead of Danielle doing her job and calling me. She proceeded to state she in fact saw the groomer bath Claire....did you not see the dirt on her tummy, face and ears and did you even use soap? Did you blow dry and brush her...No we air dried her...so you stuck her in a kennel wet and did not dry her. No you did not bather her. 76.00. later and I have to take her to another groomer this week. Well you can bring her back in. What?!?! Bring her back in so you can do the same thing. Just got home from this location, and was recommended Halo brand dog food by Rhonda. She was an amazing help with explaining exactly why she loves the brand, what the food contains, and what types of fur coat types would work best for the specific recipe she recommended. I have a mixed breed (poodle/terrier) at home who is 2 years old and has always struggled with skin sensitivities to kibbles (specifically chicken recipes.) Rhonda was very passionate in finding me the perfect food for my fur baby who is a very picky eater! She was very adamant on me coming back and letting her know he he liked the food (good or bad) just to ensure she is recommending great products for the customers. He tends to push his food around more than eat it, probably to see if I will feed him treats for dinner instead, but he actually ate ALL of the Halo brand food I mixed in with his old recipe! He only left his old kibble in the bowl, which is very telling :) So, if you need help with anything dog related, she is definitely the perfect person to ask!! Severely disapointed. I am new to the area and I went in last week to ask about grooming for my Miniature Schnauzer and was told how they are rated extremely well and the groomer assured us that she had 31 years in the grooming business. After looking around some more and not finding a groomer I am comfortable with, I decided to give them a try. When they called me to come and pick him up, the groomer apologized and explained in her opinion she cut his eyebrows too short and she hoped that we would continue to bring him back. I was sure she was over exaggerating.... she wasn't. It isn't the fact that his eyebrows were cut shorter than I would like but his whole mask is completely butchered. His furnishings are horrendous, he does not even look like a Schnauzer to me. I just can't believe it. If my kids were not with me, I would have made a bigger deal in the store. I will not be back, not for a toy, not for food, and definitely not for any services ever. Please do yourself and your pet a favor, find a reputable groomer. We went to pick out two small fish our 3.5 gal nano fish tank, just two one inch fish because I know the gallon fish ratio and have a tank all set up ready to go. The lady working the fish station was incredibly rude from the start. Had an attitude when she asked if I needed anything. I told her I was looking to get two small fish. She then asked me what my Home tank set up was and rolled her eyes and pretty much laughed in my face! She said "you can't put fish in a 3.5 gallon tank except for beta!" I told her I came in two weeks prior and spoke to the fish person and was told I could get tow guppies or two tetra and a snail. She very rudely said "who did you talk to because I need to write them up! We can't sell you fish for a small tank and I am the fish department manager and you need 1 gal of water per 1 inch of fish." I said I know, that's why I just want two. She said "you will kill them! I can't sell two tetra, I HAVE to sell 3 and besides ALL of our fish here grow to be over 3 inches!" I gave her a puzzled look because I knew that was not true then I said well you keep like a 100 in your tanks here... she then dramatically threw open the door to her filtration system and pointed at it and said "because I have this filtration system!" .... so they don't have to follow the 1gal per 1 inch rule because of their filtration? That doesn't make sense, I have great filtration on my set up so that means I can put more fish in it? She was so rude and I told her I was NEVER coming back and will but my fish somewhere else. On my way out I spoke to the store manager and he just listened but who knows if he did anything. FYI to all the readers, I also have a 10 gal with 15 small fish and snails and they have been happy and healthy for almost a year! I know what I am doing.
