What you'd expect from a chain store. Fine place to pick up supplies and equipment. Check the prices, though, as they can be high- And price matching is easy. Customer service can be VERY lacking in the store. I've gone in before, on several occasions, looking for fish, and despite many employees in the store hanging around 'yapping' with each other, have not been approached and asked if I needed anything. Honestly, the only reason I would buy a fish here versus the local fish stores is that sometimes certain ones go on sale for $1, and if I need a lot of them for a tank, the price is too good to pass up. Otherwise, the selection and knowledge at the local fish stores is MUCH better. read more

Used the online system to book a grooming appointment in your Cleveland, TN store for my dog on Friday. Was shown available appointments and scheduled one for today. I get a voice mail this morning that I need to reschedule because they didn't know their groomer was getting married. Called the store, spoke to the manager Jim.....Jim tells me sorry, life happens. If they can't maintain proper operational procedures nor offer even anything that resembles an apology this place is not a safe place to leave your pet unattended. When my frustration boils over I ask for Jim's boss to contact me. I use some spicy language and Jim tells me I won't get a call back and not to call back. Really Petco?????? I'd love to speak with corporate customer service. Jim might be a little underprepared to deal with tough situations and doesn't represent your brand well. read more

Went to Petco to get my son a hamster. The associate Brittany was able to educate me on hamsters and also informed me that gerbils are more friendly when being handled. Just before going to Petco I went to Petsmart and the employee there did not seem to want to help. Brittany took the time to make sure we had everything we needed to ensure a healthy happy gerbil. read more

I was apprehensive about taking my girl to another groomer since she was traumatized to the point of having to be sedated just to cut her hair. It wasn't worth it to us, so I was just cutting it myself. So I was having a conversation with April and she told me how she and the girls at the Cleveland location do with shy or very nervous dogs. When I brought Scarlett in, I told her indications to look for that could cause her to go into a seizure, and that I was only a short distance away in case I was needed. Shortly I got a phone call and said that she was ready to be picked up. I walked into the salon to a happy dog that had a good experience in a grooming salon. We have 2 bearded dragons we got in IL, since then we moved to Athens TN. We go to the store in Cleveland TN and I have also called there to ask questions and when called always told not to feed my bearded dragons any kind of lettuce not even romaine, well we went to the Cleveland TN store last week and their bearded dragons have lettuce and yellow squash. So why am I being told on the phone no lettuce at all when I call them and ask questions about my bearded dragons?? I took my 2 dogs to get baths and one to get clipped. Picked them up and the one I had clipped had several places where he was shaved right to the skin. My other dog was shedding just as bad as when I took her in. After a good bath, she stops shedding for a while. She didn't even smell good. And to top it off the staff was horrible! Very rude, no smiles, thank you, nothing. I only went to this store bc I had moved but I will now take the extra time to drive to Petsmart in Hixson where staff and service is wonderful AND cheaper for the same service! I definitely DON'T recommend the grooming at this store!!! read more

Could not have asked for better treatment and advice for my new kitten. Its been a long time since taking care of a kitten plus so many new items to choose from for her. Asked about a harness and leash - not only did the employee help with the fit but then took me to the ferret section b/c the kitten harness was too big. We adopted a dog from the humane society and she desperately needed grooming. I took her to Petco in Cleveland and the first time we had her groomed there they did an amazing job, however the second time we took her they butchered her haircut. It was terrible. It was uneven and they didn't even bother to cut the hair under her tail. I would understand if she was anxious and misbehaved or fought when they tried to groom her, but my dog is extremely well behaved and sits still for them . I made sure to verify that she was well behaved for them when I saw the disaster of a hair cut she received. If a dog is well behaved there is no excuse for the job that they did. The fact that they didn't even complete clipping under her tail is inexcusable. She also had some dirt under her chin where they didn't completely bathe her. There is no way she would still had dirt there if they had bathed her fully. I will not be going back. read more

NO NO NO!!!!!!!! Do not take your animals here. It is filthy, the staff and manager are rude and disrespectful. I heard a dog yelping when they were clipping him and they didn't care. They put my dog in a cage for three hours without grooming her. When we called to check on her they said they were too busy too talk and hung up on us. We immediately went and got our baby!!!!!!! We had and appointment they said walk-ins come first. We complained to the store manager, she held her hand in our face and said we are through here. From now on we will be going to Petsmart, it is worth the drive. read more
