DO NOT USE THEIR GROOMING SERVICES. I have a 2.5 yr old goldendoodle. He has very thick, curly,wirey hair. It has been about 2.5 months since he was groomed due to many, many reasons. However, I do brush him out, bathe him, and make sure he is comfortable. He is very curly and long right now and yes has some mattes like behind his ears and in collar area. I made an appointment at Petco in Brick because our normal groomer is usually very booked out. We get there this morning and the groomer JAMIE pets him once and says " he is completely matted. Down to the skin, Im going to have to shave him" I said "He is not matted down to the skin and we do not want him shaved" she said " yes he is" I said " we do not want him shaved" and she said " well thats all I can do". I looked at my husband and asked him what he wanted to do, before he could say anything she chimed in saying " im going to have to reschedule this anyway, its gonna take too long". My husband, we are done here and we walked out. We took the ride to our normal groomer (an actual groomer), explained what happened at the petco. The groomer took one look and said, he is not matted. Took the time to play with him and pet him good, he then got out his comb and it went through his fur perfectly fine. He turned to us and said " he is gonna brush out just fine, they just didnt want to do the work"......I will be honest and say our groomer is more expensive but well worth the money for the quality of work and treatment of their clients read more

This is an unusual store because it has something other locations do not, corals for your Reef tank. In addition, they are priced right and every one that I have bought so far has not only survived, but thrived. Of course, the fish selection of saltwater specimens is not too shabby either. I was actually very surprised they have a deeply knowledgeable person who could name each coral by name and recommended something very specific to my need. Impressed for sure. Do NOT get your dog groomed here. No patience with dogs. The groomer was overwhelmed easy and basically threw my dog back to me after she clipped the dogs nails. My second bad experience with that groomer. STAY AWAY. read more

Customer service is terrible! Bought two 30 lb. pails of cat litter in which was so dusty it was totally unusable. When I returned it I was accused of scamming and having done this multiple times in the past by Jessica the store manager. Then when I called the store, the Manager Jessica wasn't very helpful and didn't want to hear that they made the mistake. There is no Customer Service, even from the Manager! Customer service is the worst. I don't even know how the store could stay afloat they obviously aren't enthused about selling things. Went to buy some fish it wasn't even 630 yet couldn't find anybody had people waiting in line with no one in site. Typical superstore for pet supplies, but this Petco tends to have more small animal accessories than others. I have a pet bunny and they have so many treat and toy options compared to Petsmart. The only downside was when I was walking past the fish tank, there were four dead goldfish floating on top that the others were eating. I wouldn't buy a pet here no matter the type, but I'll always come for supplies. They have great deals and if you sign up for their rewards program you receive coupons. read more

Although Vetco prices are low for vaccinations, the staff there is not personable and doesn't truly care about the customer. This particular Petco has the best fish department in NJ. They always have a wide variety of fish and plants. They have a few staff members that are aquatic specialists and are very knowledgeable. Tanks are always clean. read more

Went in to buy some superworms for my beardies. Bought a pack of 50 of them and got about 20. They are your typical overpriced rip-off big box pet store. I'll take my business to the competitor down the street. They also have containers full of dead 'live' food in their fridges that are months old, make sure you check your live food before you buy there. read more

The first time I brought our dog to be groomed he was cut long on one side and shorter on the other. I thought I would give it another try. You would think since it is the manager that is there grooming, it would be done properly. The place is dead & I always see the manager by herself when I go shopping there.. Now I know why when I go in the store the grooming area is empty. I brought our Yorkie home and found his hair all botched up. She took way too much hair off him. (My husband had told her a trim.) Well our dog looks like a kid groomed him. He is all razor done and looks it. He looks awful. Shaved off everywhere, and not evenly cut. Poor puppy. Never again. read more

We have been bringing our older dog here for years with no issues for grooming services. Today we brought him along with our puppy for the first time. We were mocked and questioned for the training we do with our dogs. We do what is best for both of our dogs and to be mocked and questioned because you don't understand how a dog should be trained is unacceptable. It's sad that we will no longer give them our business because they couldn't keep their opinions to themselves. If you work your dogs I would avoid this store at all costs. read more

There is a good selection and it's organized but the other day there were large puddles of dog urine on the floor in various spots, that's shameful of the owners of these dogs obviously, as there are cleaning supplies in the back for the owners to take care of this. But even if they don't, the employees need to stay on top of this. I don't know who these people were but there were various people sitting at folding tables around the area of the messes, and one employee who was in the back but came out to the register when I approached with my purchases. It just seemed weird everyone seemed to be affiliated with the store and ignoring the issue. read more

I absolutely do NOT recommend PetCo in Brick Township for grooming services. I brought my dog in this morning and was called about halfway through his grooming session and told that he would not (as in, never) be allowed back in the salon due to safety reasons. Not because he attacks anyone or anything, but because he is potentially harmful to himself. Prior to today's appointment, I had brought my dog two other times and both times was told how difficult he was. I'm not excusing my dog entirely; I'm sure he was tense and nervous during the sessions and acted up as a result, but in my opinion a professional salon should be better able to handle it. They didn't even finish what I had asked them to do today. The only positive was that they didn't charge me, but I still am very disappointed with the experience. Find another place to get your dog groomed. read more

June is amazing at what she does! After rescuing our puppy Mila we quickly realized that she and our never-before-trained 2 year old dog, Luna, were in need of some manners! We looked into a few different dog training services before calling Petco, and after speaking with June we decided that she was absolutely the one we wanted to work with. She was kind, knowledgable, and her love for animals was clear...everything we were looking for to help support us in our endeavor to better communicate with our dogs and address some of the undesirable behaviors they were displaying. We began training and immediately saw positive changes in our dogs' responses to basic commands and demeanor when guests came to our home. Our dogs both graduated level 1 of their Positive Dog Training last night and we could not be more pleased with our investment. We will be recommending June to all of our friends and family for all of their dog training needs. read more
