I have taken my dogs to Nancy and team for 33+ years! I had one special little guy, my Micky, who absolutely loved Nancy and Nancy loved him just as much! I used to get jealous because he loved her so much! I couldn't even say her name without him going nuts, begging for her! I've had 6 dogs in the last 33+ years and Here Boy has groomed all 6 beautifully! i recently adopted a rescue [American Eskimo/Samoyed mix] who could seem aggressive to others. Here Boy took him and groomed him without hesitation, so I'm not sure why some people gave such negative reviews. I wouldn't go anywhere else! The establishment is NOT dirty, the owner Nancy is phenomenal, and the groomers are all very friendly. I've seen a lot of disturbing videos lately of dogs being mistreated by other establishments/groomers and I have NEVER EVER had to worry about my babies being mistreated by anyone there. I love Nancy and her team and they LOVE dogs! 33+ years of being a loyal client and being treated as such, speaks volumes! He had some matting, and they took it upon themselves to shave him instead of taking the time to either clip them out or brush them out. Attached find photos of our sweet and loving American Staffordshire Terrier who was refused service for being labeled as a "full pit bull" by the rude and insensitive staff at "Here Boy". When we arrived at the "dog salon", which looks as though it hasn't been cleaned or updated since 1970, we were told that they would not service our "full pit" for fear that she would attack the other dogs. Our dog was sitting at our feet, perfectly behaved, and she was being judged solely based on her perceived breed. When we questioned them on why they wouldn't groom her, they replied with "what if another dog attacks her and she bites them?" Confused, we were ready to take our dog elsewhere and they said that they were groom her once but she would not be welcomed back. This place is dirty, rude and clearly biased towards certain breeds of dogs. As you can see from the photos our dog is loving, gentle and all around amazing. She would never hurt a fly and the fact they they refused service is wrong. For your dogs sake, bring them ANYWHERE else in the area for better service. These people claim to be "dog lovers" but clearly unless you have a small dog or a golden retriever, your dog is dangerous and doesn't deserve to be groomed. read more

Our dog used to hate going to the groomer and always came back groggy and miserable like he was drugged. I'd have to drag him in and he'd fight me the whole way. We tried Here Boy and he absolutely loved it! He came back smelling so much better for so much longer, and more importantly, he loves it there. He jumps out of the car and runs up to the door waiting to be greeted by one of the girls or the owner Nancy, all who know his name, and love his sloppy bulldog kisses. Worse than bad! I had a horrible experience here! I walked in when they didn't realize and saw them being horribly nasty to the dogs they were grooming up front! Pulling them viciously, screaming at them, being unbelievably rough! One person i know who took her dog there told me, never again! First time here. Wonderful experience! We brought our 4 month old cockapoo for a very simple groom. We were welcome to stay and wait since it would be relatively quick as long as it didn't cause our puppy to be distressed by seeing us there while she was being groomed. I hope this place shuts down as soon as possible. The lady who own the place is a nasty women who was rude to us for having a pit bull, who is incredibly loving, sweet, and well-trained by the way.She yelled at us and told us we weren't allowed back to the establishment after our dog was groomed. We were nervous leaving our dog there because the place looked like it was breaking several health code violations. The dog in there being groomed were being treated roughly as well. Once we picked up our dog the rude old lady who was mentioned before was rude to us for bringing our dog to a training camp that uses harmless prong collars (as if she cared about our dog who she believed was a danger to all the other animals). When we got our baby back she was just as dirty as when we left. I hope this disgusting excuse for a groomer is shut down or run out of business effective immediately. read more

You can really tell at Here Boy they love animals of all sizes. I take my little Maltese here all the time to get her little hairs cuts. She comes out great and happy. I also have brought my 110 pound German Shepard here to get his nails clipped. We had to muzzle him cause he does not like new people but they were more than happy to clip his nails as I held his head even though he growled and try to snap at them all she said was "oh stop it you big baby". We love bringing our dogs here!! read more

Here Boy may not be fancy but they sure do groom dogs well. They take care of my dog lovingly. They hand cut my Wheaton terrier beautifully, and alerted me to his ear infection. They were very gentle and sweet when I had an older dog that needed many breaks during his grooming and they are patient with our new pup! read more

DO NOTTTTTTTT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!! I brought my Maltese there today to get groomed. The OWNERR herself screamed at me because of his knots in his hair. She told me she was going to shave him ( which I already suggested because it is the summer ) . As she continued to scream at me she told me she was going to shave him down to his bare skin and most likely cut his skin and make him bleed and then THREATENED "AND I DO NOTTTT PAY VET BILLS IF I CUT THEIR SKIN". THEN SHE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THE HAIRCUT WAS GOIN TO BE 80$ IF I WAS LUCKYYY OH PLUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS TAX SHE SCREAMED. DON'T TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! I took my dog there today and witnessed something truly horrific- some real undercover 20/20 investigation stuff. I forgot to tell the groomer something and went back in to tell them. I witnessed an older blond lady screaming "you little fucker" at my dog and then she attempted to pick him up by his neck fur to throw him into a cage. I demanded my dog back and left. "Here Boy" is a BAD groomer in Toms River on Fischer Boulevard. They false advertise and they charge you for services that they do not fulfill. do not go to this groomer, you will be sorry. My cats both had fleas and Nancy (manager/owner of Here Boy) said that a flea bath would do the trick. I checked my cats when I left and found 5+ fleas! We flea bombed the house but we never even brought the cats in the house when I found the fleas on my cats. STAY FAR AWAY. They are rude. They will ignore your phone calls. My cats were unhappy with the entire treatment and my cats are super friendly and have never had a problem. In fact, they called me to complain because they couldn't get one of my cats in the cage. Aren't you professionally trained with animals and you can't get a cat in a cage? ESPECIALLY a friendly cat who comes up and rubs his head against anyone he sees. I'm sorry but this place is absolutely horrible, they do not give you proper information and they have done nothing but cause problems and drama and cost us tons of money. Never again. UPDATE: The owners are now in my messages and on my Facebook harrassing me and calling me a liar. How could they be so rude to a CUSTOMER. I tipped so well too, what a shame. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET WITH THESE PEOPLE....I took my Yorkie there for a full groom and she returned to me with 5 burns and is limping. When I picked her up, the owner whom had groomed her did not even have the decency to tell me about the injuries that I later found when I got home with her. She complained to me that she was not good for her and said that if I had her groomed more often she wouldn't be so difficult. With that said, my pup is 9 years old and I have been getting her groomed there 3 times a year for the past 6 years. I feel that this is a case of animal cruelty and would not recommend that anyone go there, for they will be putting their pets safety at risk. I was browsing at the thrift store next to this place and was startled to hear someone yelling terribly--I said DOWN, STAY!! BAD, etc...It went on for a few minutes and I looked at the volunteer and said Where is that coming from? And she said that s the dog groomer. I would never subject my dog to that abuse. I wish I knew who the dog owner was to let them know. I don t think this was an unusual occurrence based on the volunteer s cringing reaction. STAY AWAY!!!! My father in law suggested we take our dog to this groomer because she was a friend of his. Despite the fact that she is 30 minutes away from our house we did it to honor his request. We took the dog there twice. The first time the dog came home completely shaved bald (keep in mind she is a yorkipoo SHE IS SUPPOSED to have hair) but we didn't complain because we had just gotten her as a rescue and acknowledged she was matted and that there was a possibility it was needed. We took her again this past weekend..affording them the opportunity to now show us their true skills as she was not now a product of neglect. We got her back later that day and once again she was shaved bald this time literally showing bare skin with what could only be described as a mullet on the top of her head. We were livid but seeing as the owner was not there, our complaints were not really being heard. We took the dog home, she was trembling, and seriously seemed traumatized. I went to potty her before she came in the house and noticed that she wasn't walking right. Again I figured it was trauma and discomfort from what she had experienced. The next morning I noticed she wasn't just traumatized or cold or scared. She was walking on only 3 legs. I picked her up and noticed her dewclaw hanging off I took her to the vet who told me it now needs to be surgically removed and she would need to be put under to have it done because the "professionals" that cut her nails did a piss poor job of it. We have been contacting the shop repeatedly over the course of the last few days only to have our phone calls dodged and ignored and then to receive a message back "we didn't shave her bald her hair fell out of her body from being over bathed at home there you have your answer".She has never had a home bath and has only been bathed by professionals since she came into our home. I would strongly urge ANYONE AND EVERYONE that genuinely cares about their furbabies to look elsewhere. These people not only have no clue as to what they are doing but they are rude inconsiderate and unapologetic. read more
