As an owner of top conformation show dogs, I was searching for additional award-winning groomers. I received a real song and dance routine from the owner, Beth -- I think that's her name. Without even knowing me or my dogs, she makes an egregious demand that I take my latest import to her facility bi-weekly for at least $275+ per session. Question: Does bi-weekly translate into twice weekly? A person doesn't require a university degree from at least a top university like the Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey to know that bi-weekly means twice per week. Correct? When I question her, she becomes defensive. When I explain to her bi-weekly at a rate of at least $275-plus is egregious -- and no legitimate professional grooming facility would ever make such demanding preconditions without meeting the dog in question or the owner or handler -- she then changes her story and tells me that "bi-weekly" means "every other week." No professional handler or groomer will have a dog professionally groomed every other week or every two weeks unless the dog has a skin problem, which requires the dog to be bathed weekly -- and that's not a conformation show dog. There are geriatric dogs with autoimmune conditions, which causes the skin to develop horrific sebaceous cysts, which require surgical removal. These dogs require weekly baths, but these are infirm, geriatric dogs and not show dogs. I noted that most of her dogs are small dogs -- and not conformation show quality dogs. The proprietor is extremely recalcitrant and mendacious, if not downright dishonest. The dog industry in this country can be very frustrating, because there are so very many dishonest businesspeople, and this is definitely a business that focuses solely on making a profit at any and all expense. I'm glad the proprietor revealed herself upfront from the very beginning, but what about those folks who lack the experience of knowing who is a mountebank and who is not? To be honest, it does take some time to find a highly skilled groomer, who is honest and can financially afford to concentrate on conformation show dogs. Planet Poodle evidently is not. Boy, did I get a song and dance routine, plus the proprietor was extremely nasty. I never met the woman, and she was extremely rapacious, while on the offensive defense. Yikes!

I had a very unpleasant experience trying to recoup funds . My property was damaged by Planet Poodle and their negligence. I was told a check was mailed a week ago still no check . I was told the owner would call . Have been lied to more times that I can count . I have promoted this place for the last 10 years NEVER again.

Prior to going to Planet Poodle, we went to numerous different groomers. About 3 days after the groom, our "baby" would already be matted and we go every week. Also, she did not want to go. Someone told me to try Planet Poodle. We did and 8 years later we are still here every week. Besides our baby running into Planet Poodle where she is always greeted like a princess, the products that they use are amazing!! Because of what is going on now :( and in addition to our baby being hospitalized for hge, it has been 2 weeks since her last groom and she is not matted!!! There are soo many things we love about Planet Poodle ... the girls, her groom, how the dogs are not caged but now I am adding products to the list.

The Spring Lake location moved, the new location was nicer and my dog was not stressed out when I picked her up. It's a great place.

We made him a wish list like he asked of everything he would work on while he has the dog. After the 10 days, he brought our pup back and she was super excited to be back home. Scott assured us this is normal and that he would schedule a follow up visit with us and the dog to go over everything he worked on while our dog was with him. We schedule for the following Saturday. Saturday morning came and I got a text from Scott that he had to cancel our appointment. He offered to come on Sunday. Sunday came and Scott once again didn't show up and I didn't get a text until about an hour and half after our scheduled appointment that he couldn't come. At this point we realized that Scott had no intention of coming back and we just wasted $1500. His lack of professionalism and failure to show up, along with the absence of results, left us feeling disappointed and taken advantage of.

We set up an orientation in Belmar and at that time, Francis and Boogie the pup (Scott's dog) hit it off. After we left Francis with Scott, he put me at ease by sending me his videos and pictures everyday. As a pet parent, naturally I am a bit anxious leaving Francis behind, but the regular photo and video updates from Scott I was able to enjoy my trip worry free. I definitely recommend Scott. Scott is unique in that he only boards one dog at a time, which allows the dog to get a lot more attention than in other boarding settings; as such, his rates tend to be slightly higher at around $65/night (give or take). Francis was definitely a bit sad the day we brought him home due to all the fun he had with his buddy Boogie. NOTE: must text him and sometimes remind for updates, but he does come through as he maintains a busy schedule as a dog trainer.

If you see Dr. North 1 star. He is rude, doesn't listen to symptoms & does NOT know his veterinary medicine. I do not trust Dr. North to give my dog her annual shots. My dog was very sick. Almost died sick. She had a very swollen belly, the runs, drastic weight loss & lethargy. Dr. North only would treat the symptom of the water retention in her belly. After 3 months of going, numerous blood tests and x-rays, water pills & anti biotics, she wasn't getting better. I did research and found a disease that fit ALL of her symptoms & test results. He told me "no, it can't be that because it is very rare. Let's wait & see what happens." Instead of waiting while my dog suffered, we went to red bank to see a specialist. She was diagnosed w lymphagestascia. Yes very rare, but rather common in Yorkies. Dr. North never looked up the disease after I mentioned it or even attempted to figure out what was killing my dog. She would have died without immediate treatment. She is now doing great & we go to see Dr. Spangle for shots and routine visits. But we do have to go to red bank annually to monitor her disease. I don't know that I would go to Brielle for anything major. But for routine upkeep and basic issues, Dr. Spangle is right on.
