DO NOT GET YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE! I brought my Golden Retriever to be groomed here. He was improperly groomed as a puppy and as a result gets matting on his back legs. Discussed with the groomer the plan of action to shave the hair on his back legs. I went to pick up my dog and the groomer COMPLETELY SHAVED HIS LEGS, BOTTOM AND HIS ENTIRE TAIL WAS SHAVED OFF! Apparently she tried to call me, and when she got no answer she PROCEEDED TO DO IT ANYWAY! My dog looks absolutely ridiculous! This is not something I consented to and definitely not something I would have been okay with. My dog no longer has any of his top coat, meaning that his tail will NEVER BE NORMAL AGAIN! My poor dog looks absolutely stupid.

This location does seem to be a little bit different from others, Can't quite place my finger on what it is. They seem to have lots to choose from as far as pet products. Although they are a bit pricey for some things. The staff seems friendly and the store seems well kept (Although most of the photos on this Yelp review seem to be some kind of corporate upload and do not look like they were taken at the particular store). Lots of Dog Food to choose from, some very expensive down to some that aren't that bad and are still a step up from. We'll say, "Ol Roy" As far as Dog food, most important things I've found is to look for products labeled "complete and balanced," indicating that they meet the nutritional requirements of cats and dogs listed by the Association of American Feed Control Officials. This organization, in conjunction with the Food and Drug Administration, state officials and the animal feed industry, develops model regulations for pet foods, which are voluntary unless encoded in state laws. So I guess I don't mind paying a bit more since we do tend to care for our dogs and want them to be healthy. I think all pet foods are made from the byproducts of human food production, No matter what the package says, your dog is not getting whole chicken breasts, but what remains after the breasts have been removed for human food. Just my opinion. The grooming location staff here I also noticed seem to be exceptionally helpful.

I have taken my pup through Adult 1 & 2 training and am so happy I chose Bremerton Petco. Our trainer, Malory, was very professional, flexible and understanding with everyone's schedules. She provided special attention to the dogs needs and showed genuine interest and concern. By the end of all our classes, all the staff there was like family. It was actually kind of sad that we made it through and class was over. Haha...not that I wanted my dog to fail. I am very grateful for all that she taught me and for the staff for being so kind. The store is always clean and staff is there if I need assistance, don't be afraid to ask. We are there so often, I should fill out a change of address. Great store, amazing staff!

Sadly didn't get a photo of him at the groomers but he was so cute I had to take to pose him in front of the tree haha

Ever since I moved here almost a year ago I always go here for everything, toys, grooming, food, and even training classes. Everything is always great and the service is wonderful, everyone is professional and friendly. I went to the groomers today and was surprised with a discount for the dog washing service and then they even surprised me at the end by dressing my baby up in a Christmas bandana and bow haha, so nice of them to go way above and beyond for my dog and me!

As a result, she exhibited the beginnings of fear aggression, which I understand is common in German Shepherds. My vet recommended immediate puppy school and I chose Amanda because of her reputation for being upbeat and training in a positive manner. Whelp (snicker), turns out I picked the right trainer. Amanda knew how to help Sophie develop confidence and she also watched her carefully for signs of fatigue and stress during class. Sophie thrived under Amanda's training. I swear Sophie would say (in doggie language), "Pick me! Pick me!" whenever Amanda needed a volunteer pup to show the class a new trick. She LOVED puppy school. She LOVES Amanda. Amanda uses clicker training and other methods of positive reinforcement so you can toss out that awful pinch collar and teach with gentleness and humor. No more feeling guilty about using those harsh training methods that were the norm for so many years. And you'll have fun. And your pup will have fun. And you'll enjoy a whole new relationship with your best friend. I can't recommend Amanda highly enough. She's great.

This review is to make awareness of the situation my dog was put into and hopes that this place train their employees to better handle a situation to keep both parties safe. At the end of the day this business is responsible for keeping their own employees and our pets safe. This business is responsible for educating employees on how to properly break up dog fights or avoid instigating them. My dog was dismissed from cbw due to bitting an employee. I couldn't believe it. My dog has never bitten anyone and is usually very submissive towards other dogs. I'd also like to note that this is not the first day care my dog has been to. He was at a previous day care where he stayed for a week without issues. We don't go there anymore because we moved. Now, I couldn't help but be skeptical of people who say they were bit by a dog that doesn't have a history of biting . Things don't usually happen out of nowhere. So ask "what did you do to provoke the dog?". I hate to say it, but most people who work with animals, have no business working with them, either because they can't read body language, push the animal's buttons (Inadvertently or otherwise), or they don't know how to diffuse a situation that involves more than one animal. So after being in my head all day after the incident. I called CBW if I could see the clip of the incident.. and this is what I saw.. There was a dog mounting my dog.. and the whole time that was happening the employee had his back turned and was not aware of what was happening. When the employee finally turned around, that's when my dog was trying to tell the other dog to back off. Then the employee jumped into conclusion and attempted to grab my dog from behind by the collar until he's standing on 2 legs because he assumed my dog was being aggressive. Now imagine.. My dog was already being bullied by a dog and then comes a human. He felt threatened and probably felt ganged up on and acted out out of self defense. I spoke to the manager after seeing that video to go over what happened because I wanted to tell her how I felt about it but the whole time she talked over me, dismissed me a lot, and didn't give me the chance to speak. I just wanted to get it off my chest but that conversation left me feeling so defeated and unheard. The manager explained to me that the employee can't keep his eyes on all dogs.. so ask yourself again, why is there only one employee watching a bunch of dogs? Why didn't the employee use a slip lead to remove him, why didn't he create space before stepping in?. It was a fully failed attempt to diffuse, and my dog got the bad end of it all and was punished unfairly. I'm glad I watched the clip before judging my dog, and you can bet I pat him on the back and was proud of him for standing up for himself because I would've done the same. A non aggression dog bitting in self defense if grabbed by the collar too hard. I couldn't blame him. Moving forward, I just hope no one will have to go through what my dog and I went through, and I only wish that they hire or train their employees properly to avoid another situation like this. I feel bad for the employee who got bit, but could've that be avoided? Absolutely, with proper training.

Barking. At drop off, the groomer appeared nervous. My dog is highly intelligent and clearly picked up on her body language and tone. Fifteen minutes later, I received a call saying my dog's barking made her afraid and I needed to pick her up. When I arrived, I observed the groomer wearing noise canceling headphones. Huskies and shepherds are vocal breeds. Vocalization is not aggression. Excluding a dog for normal breed behavior is inappropriate. As a special education teacher, I strongly believe in accommodations and inclusion. However, if someone has anxiety or is sensory sensitive, working with animals in a loud grooming salon may not be the right job. The responsibility should not be placed on the animal or the customer. Being told to remove my dog for simply barking after years of consistent business was unacceptable. This showed a lack of breed knowledge and professionalism. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

Before training, Simba had zero structure -- he pulled hard on the leash, barked at everyone and everything, and even bit my 2-year-old daughter. He was always a house dog, and I'll admit I let him get away with a lot. But after that bite incident, I knew something had to change. From the very beginning, Jamal really took the time to understand our household and what we needed, especially with a toddler in the mix. When Simba came home, I could not believe it was the same dog. He's now calm, obedient, and responsive. He no longer pulls on the leash or nips at anyone. He listens to commands, doesn't bark excessively, and has such a better sense of control and focus. What really stood out to me is that Jamal didn't just train my dog -- he also trained me. He gave me the confidence I needed as a dog owner to trust my dog and to trust myself. I now feel like Simba and I truly understand and respect each other. Our bond is stronger than ever, and I finally feel like I'm leading him in the right way. We can now take him to off-leash parks, and he plays nicely with other dogs but comes right back when called.
