Was a little nervous as I was told how hard it was to groom my Pomeranian. He had been going to pet smart since he was a puppy last year they told me not to bring him back after he had a male bath him. I tried again same story. So I was at a lost as to where to take him as before the male bather he always got what a pleasure to groom so sweet no problems. So I found wags n whisker told her if the problems he had that I was told he was hard to groom. Told her of his pass surgery on his hip and knee ( hip dislocation knee repair) that he might be sore still. Was so surprised to hear she had no problems with him no bad behavior that he was a pleasant little boy to groom. Her prices are outstanding was so happy that she agreed to be our dogs permanent groomer!!!!

After getting him home, I took him out of the kennel and I saw Melinda had completely ripped off his dewclaw.

I've been taking my pup here for 5 months and I have nothing but great things to say. Yes, there…read moreare always risks when having a bunch of dogs together but they have a good interview process and separate based off size/temperament to mitigate any issues. The staff has all been extremely friendly and you can tell they really care about the dogs. They have recently really increased the amount of enrichment activities offered, which are nice add ons to the daycare stay and you always get photos! I have also boarded my pup and I really appreciate that I am allowed to bring his favorite blanket and toys to make him more comfortable. Booking on the app is very streamlined and I appreciate their punch card for daycare visits.

This review is to make awareness of the situation my dog was put into and hopes that this place train their employees to better handle a situation to keep both parties safe. At the end of the day this business is responsible for keeping their own employees and our pets safe. This business is responsible for educating employees on how to properly break up dog fights or avoid instigating them. My dog was dismissed from cbw due to bitting an employee. I couldn't believe it. My dog has never bitten anyone and is usually very submissive towards other dogs. I'd also like to note that this is not the first day care my dog has been to. He was at a previous day care where he stayed for a week without issues. We don't go there anymore because we moved. Now, I couldn't help but be skeptical of people who say they were bit by a dog that doesn't have a history of biting . Things don't usually happen out of nowhere. So ask "what did you do to provoke the dog?". I hate to say it, but most people who work with animals, have no business working with them, either because they can't read body language, push the animal's buttons (Inadvertently or otherwise), or they don't know how to diffuse a situation that involves more than one animal. So after being in my head all day after the incident. I called CBW if I could see the clip of the incident.. and this is what I saw.. There was a dog mounting my dog.. and the whole time that was happening the employee had his back turned and was not aware of what was happening. When the employee finally turned around, that's when my dog was trying to tell the other dog to back off. Then the employee jumped into conclusion and attempted to grab my dog from behind by the collar until he's standing on 2 legs because he assumed my dog was being aggressive. Now imagine.. My dog was already being bullied by a dog and then comes a human. He felt threatened and probably felt ganged up on and acted out out of self defense. I spoke to the manager after seeing that video to go over what happened because I wanted to tell her how I felt about it but the whole time she talked over me, dismissed me a lot, and didn't give me the chance to speak. I just wanted to get it off my chest but that conversation left me feeling so defeated and unheard. The manager explained to me that the employee can't keep his eyes on all dogs.. so ask yourself again, why is there only one employee watching a bunch of dogs? Why didn't the employee use a slip lead to remove him, why didn't he create space before stepping in?. It was a fully failed attempt to diffuse, and my dog got the bad end of it all and was punished unfairly. I'm glad I watched the clip before judging my dog, and you can bet I pat him on the back and was proud of him for standing up for himself because I would've done the same. A non aggression dog bitting in self defense if grabbed by the collar too hard. I couldn't blame him. Moving forward, I just hope no one will have to go through what my dog and I went through, and I only wish that they hire or train their employees properly to avoid another situation like this. I feel bad for the employee who got bit, but could've that be avoided? Absolutely, with proper training.

Shane took his time with him and made sure he felt comfortable the entire process. You can tell he genuinely cares about the dogs he works with. When I came to pick Bear up, I was honestly shocked! he was actually white again and SO soft! More importantly, we can see how much happier and more comfortable Bear is now. THANK YOU Shane!

After 7 years as a loyal customer, we will no longer be using the PetSmart Silverdale grooming…read moresalon. My husky shepherd was sent home for barking. Not aggression. Not unsafe behavior. Barking. At drop off, the groomer appeared nervous. My dog is highly intelligent and clearly picked up on her body language and tone. Fifteen minutes later, I received a call saying my dog's barking made her afraid and I needed to pick her up. When I arrived, I observed the groomer wearing noise canceling headphones. Huskies and shepherds are vocal breeds. Vocalization is not aggression. Excluding a dog for normal breed behavior is inappropriate. As a special education teacher, I strongly believe in accommodations and inclusion. However, if someone has anxiety or is sensory sensitive, working with animals in a loud grooming salon may not be the right job. The responsibility should not be placed on the animal or the customer. Being told to remove my dog for simply barking after years of consistent business was unacceptable. This showed a lack of breed knowledge and professionalism. We will be taking our business elsewhere.
