Before the pandemic and during 2020, this business was the best. We picked up and started using…read morethem again in February of 2021 and they have changed, which is understandable because of the pandemic. It's not the small price increase as we can understand that, it's that they no longer provide de-mating service in case it's needed. So it's now become a wash, trim, and bandana for more money and less work. After using them for a year and being very pleased, we might as well go to a standard wash, trim, nails place for 1/3 of their charges. Sorry that we had to part company in this matter but now for $120-130 every two months vs $45 there is too much of a disparity in fees. I see that the owner states that we cancelled twice .... That's different and a new tactic since you set the schedules and cancelled on us. You didn't set our next appointment during the last visit and that was months ago! We no longer will be using your services and don't appreciate the changing story. YOU stated to me that you no longer offer departing service so I don't get your reply, and it just confirms more that we will no longer use your service.

I recently took my dog to Just Pawfection in Lynbrook for a grooming session, and unfortunately,…read morethe experience was disappointing. I specifically requested that my dog's hair be trimmed, but not cut too short. The groomer informed me that my dog's hair was matted,it WASNT,which I later learned is a way for them to charge an extra fee...yes I did sign a disclaimer in case of nicks and asked him why,I've never had to before w/my current dog or the one before...told me not to worry it's just a way of protecting themselves...his appointment was at 10:30...I called at 3:30 to check on him..he wasn't ready....went at 4:30...STILL not ready...ask the owner what's taking so long...said it takes time to cut because he was so matted .... Im still confused about him saying he's matted because I take my dog to get groomed every month. I waited outside and finally around 515. He told me that he was ready. I had to stare at my dog for a while because he was unrecognizable AND a big red flag was they didn't even charge me the matte fee..when I finally got him on to examine him. I see that he was nicked when his eye and this is what probably took so long they probably had to stop the bleeding... my dog is a calm dog, but he seems unusually lethargic unlike the other times he's been to this groomer which leads me to believe they could have given him something.... Long story short don't take your pet here!!!

We have been bringing our dog, Buddy, to Groom by Harry for the past 2-3 years and, until this most…read morerecent visit, we had always been very happy with the service. We have never written a negative review before, which is why it is especially disappointing to have to write this one. Buddy is a fluffy, double-coated Husky, and his normal groom is a trim that maintains his natural coat. When my wife dropped him off, she specifically said that he should receive his usual groom. I was also contacted by the staff and confirmed that we wanted his usual groom. When we picked Buddy up, we were shocked to find that he had been completely shaved down. We had never given permission for his coat to be shaved, and nobody contacted us beforehand to discuss changing his grooming plan. I've included photos of Buddy from this recent appointment, along with photos from previous grooming appointments, so people can see the significant difference between the haircut we received this time and how Buddy has normally been groomed and naturally looks. We understand from the owner that Buddy had significant matting and that his coat was impacted. If his coat was in a condition where shaving was necessary for his comfort or safety, we would have understood that. However, we should have been contacted before making such a significant change, especially since this was completely different from the groom we requested. We also understand that dematting can require additional time and that there can be an additional charge. What was difficult to understand was being charged $300 for a service that ultimately involved shaving his coat without our authorization. If they needed more time to properly groom Buddy, we would have gladly brought him back another day. If the groom required additional time and therefore a higher price, we also would have been completely willing to pay more. Communication was the issue. What was equally disappointing was how our concern was handled afterward. When I reached out to the owner, I was hoping for some acknowledgment of our frustration and perhaps an apology. Instead, the response felt defensive and focused primarily on explaining why it happened and what we should be doing differently going forward. We understand that situations like this can happen, but as longtime customers, we expected our concern to be treated with more consideration. Your dog is part of your family. When you leave them with a groomer, you want to trust that they will be treated with the same care and consideration you would give them yourself. We had that trust for years, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I sincerely hope the business takes this feedback seriously. We would have been much more understanding if we had simply been contacted before the decision was made to shave Buddy.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Groom By Harry in Baldwin…read more On June 1, 2026 my mini golden doodle was injured with grooming shears during service. Harry called me to inform me my pooch had an injury during the grooming service and required medical attention. I was confused at his angry tone towards me. The call was so chaotic, I didn't even understand what he was saying. I asked him to send a picture in which he did. I called him back to discuss but instead he blamed me for the injury and claimed my dog was misbehaving during the grooming service which caused the injury. I was also told that the injury was my fault because my dog had matting and my previous grooming appointment had been approximately five months earlier. He chastised me as bad dog owner. I was in shock. Totally unprofessional. Insult to injury, when we picked up our dog he abandoned the cut with no regard close shave to torso and rest of hair untouched. My dog was taken to the vet and required sutures to close the wound. I am sharing this so other pet owners do not make the same mistake that I made. I feel bad that I put my dog through this hell. While I understand accidents can happen, I believe a business should respond with accountability and professionalism when a pet is injured in its care. What upset me most was how the situation was handled afterward. I did not receive an apology. He was dismissive, argumentative, defensive and offensive. I understand that grooming matted dogs can be more challenging however I expected professionalism, concern for any dog's well-being and some responsibility for an injury that occurred at the hands of the Harry the owner. I did not even get a follow up call or text. No concern whatsoever. I have incurred veterinary expenses so far, and the business has refused to reimburse those costs.
