Carla the groomer asked me if I wanted her to be groomed a certain way and she did exactly as I requested. I added nail filing when I made the appt. and her nails were done perfectly. I highly recommend this store for grooming and highly recommend Carla. Add in that Carla is super sweet and personable. I had recent surgery and was there with a walker and everyone there including Carla, helped with getting my pup to the back to Carla to get my purchases to the car which neither I nor my mother could carry. I have shopped from Pet Supplies Plus in Oceanside for many years. Their prices almost always be Petco and Chewy, which is why I can just stop in and grab something without really thinking about it. I placed an online order yesterday and it came way earlier than predicted. One of the items was missing, and I called the store, they immediately connected me with the manager. She was so understanding and is sending the out right now. I can't say enough good things about going into the store with my dog or stopping in just to see the hamsters. My 'Sis' brought her fur baby here to be groomed on 9/27. When she arrived to pick her fur baby, she was met with an awful job and horrific ulcers in both eyes! Items stocked on the shelves behind sales signs that weren't on sale and a much higher price . We spoke with a sales rep about the item before choosing it. When we decided to purchase the item we took it to the register and it rang up $20+ more told cashier the sales price (which was reason we choose it in case it didn't work for us) and she went to shelves and said oh wrong spot and pointed to price ticket which was high up and hard to read. Many more items behind the wrong price ticket and she didn't bother moving items or putting correct price in from of the items. Seems like a scam to get you to register with the more expensive item not a sales item. Was annoyed when we told her to take it off sale we weren't buying it. Bait and switch. I was looking for some new healthy raw food for my little guys. I have an overweight teacup Yorkie who weights in at 7lbs at the moment and should be in the 4-5lbs weight range. I was able to find a variety of different brands of raw food here. They have a very large selection of dog food, cat food, bird food and many other animal foods. While I was here I picked out some new toys and a new bed for my little guys. The nice girl at the checkout signed me up for their store savings card and holy moly did I really save on the dog bed and toys. I also noticed a sign and something to the effect of if you continue buying food from them you get an addition savings after so many bags. I've been back a few times and the staff are always super friendly and helpful. Definitely my go-to pet supply store. read more

I signed up for autoship for this dog food and they shipped it twice to me, two days apart, due to a glitch in their system. The local store in Oceanside did not care to help me rectify this issue and they refused to pick up the second bag of food due to an error in THEIR system. I even spoke with the manager, Fara, and she was very dismissive and disinterested in the issue. They told me I had to bring the bag of dog food back to them for a refund. Now I have to carry this huge heavy bag back to them to correct THEIR mistake. I immediately cancelled my auto ship membership and after this bag of food, I'm changing dog foods because I will never shop at Pet Supplies Plus ever again. Their store employees are rude and have no interest in their customers and the corporate office doesn't answer....you have to leave a message and they never call back! From now on I'm going to PETCO because they actually care about their customers! read more

Brought my dog on September 27th to be groomed and this is how my pup was returned to me... a $95 appointment turning into $605 worth of medical bills. Contacted the store and spoke to manager Karen and groomer Taylor and received no resolution or accountability. I the response I received from Karen was "I feel like you're taking it negatively." Those green circles in each eye are ulcers caused by their grooming which they attempted to hide by leaving the hair over his eyes. read more

Teach your employees better customer service and have your return policies printed out. I had a large bag of dog food set for auto-ship and it arrived on time, however I didn't need it at the moment. I went to return it at this location and the manager was a total JERK... first I bring in the bag and have my emailed copy of the receipt ready. She first says that they can't return online orders which I called BS right away and asked her to see it in writing which she refused. She finally checks my receipt, then she gets reluctant and says that the sku numbers didn't match.. I showed her the numbers were EXACTLY the same and then says, "I can't get you a cash return just store credit. All I wanted was for her to return it to MY card. The irony of this whole thing is that not only os she the manager but her name was Karen. Go figure. I was very upset and she WAS being prejudice. I've been ordering dogfood from this company for years and for me to have a HASSLE to do a return on DOG FOOD I don't need and that I paid for with MY hard earned money is NOT fair!! Brought my golden retriever to get groomed there as I've done so many times. Used to go to Dylan and Melissa who were great. Also used Tania the past few times with no complaints. I showed up and asked for what I normally ask for, bath brush and deshed package. Except, when I picked up my dog he was completely cut short as if he was a yellow lab. I asked Tania about it and she told me that was the deshed, as she was talking on the phone with someone else. Since I already had to pay ahead of time and was in a bit of surprise I walked out. On my ride home I noticed he was cut completely uneven so I called to speak to the manager and offered to come back with him. Karen was nice and said she would call me back after speaking with the groomer. I never heard back so called 2 hours later, I spoke with Phil. I asked to refund the 133 dollar cut because I was so disappointed in how my dog looks and will have have to get him fixed to grow back right. Phil was extremely rude on the phone not at all apologetic. Wouldn't even consider a refund and said there's nothing he can do but give me a 25% off my next cut. Prices have skyrocketed way beyond what others charge. $5 for a can of Blue buffalo dog food while Stop n Shop and Walmart charge about half that price. Same thing goes for Stella and Chewy meal mixers, they charge over $80 for the big bag (it used to be $35 there) meanwhile Chewy.com sells the same for half their price. This has nothing to do with supply chain, its about greedy owners. The only people that should be shopping here are those without the intelligence to know they're being had. Absolutely the friendliest and most helpful staff. The store is well maintained and if you can't find something the staff is always willing to help. I needed a seatbelt for my dog and they helped me find something perfect. The staff is so supportive of animal rescue and fair they try to help as many as they can. Experience: I came here with my dad to buy my mom a new beta. Hers had just passed away after having it for a long time. This was supposed to be a quick in and out trip. A store employee offered to help me while I was looking for thermometers and I said no thank you. Then, he approached my dad and they talked for 10-15 minutes. After I had chosen a beta for my mom, this same person comes over and takes the fish and tells me he's examining it to make sure its healthy and starts tapping on the tank. That really bothered me. And then he kept talking to us for a long time and I just wanted to take the fish, pay, and get out of there. There are a few jars of fish that have been dead for a while and were decaying on that shelf. Something just seems off to have a 'fish specialist' there, yet some of the fish are dead on the shelf and not being taken care of. There are sheets there too for how to take care of the beta fish and other types of pets as well. There's a policy where you can replace the fish if it dies within 14 days of you purchasing it if you have the receipt. Recommend it?: Prices are fair, but I can't say I had a great experience here. read more
