I took my 2.5 month old shipoo, there bc she had a few Matt's on her back legs and booty area. They told me it would be 47 but doubled it by the time I picked her up. She is under 2lbs! Audrey and Cayla worked on my babies, Carter and Coco (Yorkies) Time: Saturday morning 11-3ish Pros: they're sweet groomers and you can tell they love dogs. Facility seemed clean. Other workers at the store were nice and helpful. The dogs' cuts were nice- I will get my male dog's face cut longer next time, though. I adored Coco's bows. She's an absolute doll now. Cons: Whenever I booked, I didn't know that they worked on all dogs there at once. I booked both dogs at 11, and I thought they'd be out by 12-12:30 and one groomer would groom my first dog while the other would groom my second- them only catering to my dogs during that session. I got my dogs back around 3 or so. Luckily, it worked out because I had no plans that day. I'll know next time, and I'll choose just one groomer and anticipate the time. The grooming was advertised at a different price for this same store online-- My small dog was charged more than my xs dog's service. There was no differentiation in price online. I did receive discounts at the store, though. 20% for a first time there. Lastly, they scheduled me for a date I wouldn't even be able to come back in. Usually, a business asks when you'd like to schedule another appointment. They didn't. They just booked me and I received an email. So I had to call back and cancel (on the email there was a 1 day cancellation message, so I just called as soon as I could to cancel). I didn't want two groomers again, anyway- and I also wouldn't want to come back on that date they set. Anyway- even with this being said, I would go back, and I still would recommend. I can't believe I paid for this, and will have to pay more to fix it, since this Petco location will not fix their mistake. I'm still trying to put myself in the groomer's position and come up with reasons why she thought this haircut was acceptable and finished. I couldn't think of any reason that would justify this. Besides the fact that this is the worst haircut my dog has ever received, the staff were incredibly rude and were blaming me for the botched cut. I've been to this particular Petco a handful of times now. I recently adopted two kittens (and I suppose I've got to feed them), so I venture into Petco from time to time for an assortment of things. The staff in here is incredibly friendly and are genuinely interested in the well being of your furry, feathered, or scaled family members. They'll answer all of your questions, help find what you need, make suggestions, carry your 45 pound box of litter to your car for you, and make sure you leave happy! For Christmas my kittens received a Kitty-Tower from Petco, and it's awesome. The little felines love it! I plan on acquiring all of my kitten food and accessories here for many moons to come!! Also, one employee likes to walk around holding a snake or two. I kind of want a snake, but it might eat my cats. Maybe when they're bigger (but would the cats eat the snake?).... read more

They injured my dog pretty severely during a basic nail trim. I have a french bull dog and after they trimmed his nails his left front and back paws were bloody. They cut him in between the toes and burned him with the electric nail trimmer. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE FOR GROOMING PLEASE! Thank you for responding Diane. I must say I called your store in N. Arlington yesterday and was told a mgr would call me back this morning. No one called me. I called the store today and was told to leave another message, and it wasn't until I insisted on speaking w/someone that they transferred my call to the Grooming Dept. She said she was busy and would call me back which she did. The Mgr then told me to take my dog to the vet and have your employee meet me there to see if your groomer caused the injuries. That was it! I find that unacceptable and inadequate. It makes me never want to shop there ever again. No Customer Service skills. I pray you can get to the bottom of this and contact me directly. The grooming team (especially Kim) is amazing. You can tell they really love the pets and want to help them look their best! My dog Rosie is very shy and gets nervous around people, but she is used to this grooming team and we will NEVER go anywhere else! I recently tried another Petco and they were terrible, but this location has amazing services and such helpful/attentive staff. I actually tried to get my dog's food at other stores, but they do not carry it. I live right by this Petco, but hate going in there because the staff is usually not very friendly, and no one is at the registers to check you out. They act like you are really interrupting them if you want to check out. I went in this week, expecting the same, and guess what? I pretty much got it. One young lady was helping a customer, and another one was standing there nearby. The one who was seemingly not busy, turned and saw me wanting to check out, but ignored me. I asked if anyone could please ring me up, my blood pressure starting to rise, and the young lady who had been helping another customer came right over. She was very friendly, and actually went out of her way to go get another couple of bags a food for me, since they were on sale. Her name is Markia ( from my receipt), and I hope the store manager recognizes her value. The other girl ( who the manager certainly should know her name as well), should probably be replaced. If I could leave zero stars I would, so I'd settle for one. I've been regularly taking my two dogs (a Maltese and a ShiChi) there for grooming for the past couple of months and they've done a decent job until this last visit... the visibly uneven haircuts in both of them where the least of the problems- on the Maltese they cut his nails so short they cut into his skin. While I'm aware that accidents happen, their lack of accountability was what drove me over the edge... they failed to mention the damage they've done and did not acknowledge the bleeding, which I found out once the puppies where in my car and there was blood everywhere. Do not take your puppies there! The affordable uneven haircuts are not worth the dogs' well being. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would!!! The customer service is horrible here. I have only ran into 2 employees that acted as if they cared about their jobs! Jasmyn and Jayyy. I have never seen so many people angry at work. The boss whatever her name is..(nose RINGS!! and horrible attitude) is what I'll call her. She was very snappy because I asked for jay when coming back to purchase my bearded dragon. Jayy was very knowledgeable and nice on my first stop in to research....So upon returning to purchase I wanted to speak with him. She was very irritated that I was asking for him. ("It's only 2 of us here today and we don't know as much as jay") was her response when I asked for him. Fst Fwd..TODAY I went in and some girl named VEE talking on her air pods...as I walked by Talking about her cats...to whomever she was on the phone with!! Didn't speak BARELY made eye contact..However I needed her !! Soooo When I asked her for worms she quickly stated and pointed "they over there " as if I didn't know that..but since I've been coming in to buy them. Someone..Well this young man that works mornings...has always helped me make sure I get a good batch. Simply because my first time buying them most of them were DEAD..So I like to get help. She came over and stood over me telling me "they are cold!! That's why they not moving " I was thinking DUHHHHH. That's why I asked you for help because clearly I didn't want to buy a cup of dead worms AGAIN. I'm just saying if it's another Petco near please go. Because this location is HORRIBLE and lack training on customer service!!!! If it weren't for Jasymn this evening..I probably would've went to PETSMART. I just don't like nasty attitudes especially when I'm spending my money weekly. Also getting off my own job where GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE is a MUST. ZERO Stars! At 4 hours and with no call, I show up and ask about my dog. I'm told he had an "accident" - so they need another 45 minutes. My 3 year old doodle has never even had an accident in his crate or our home. He is very vocal about needing to go out to poop, even with explosive diarrhea. That's how I know his verbal cues were ignored, and he was left so long in a crate that he had no choice but to poop himself. The only groomer there said she had only washed him and trimmed around his bum - after 4 hours! I was upset and asked for my dog to be brought out. She would not bring him out immediately to me. Another employee was waved over. I had to ask multiple times and be like, why won't you bring out my dog! The groomer purposely pushed the door to the back crate area closed when she saw me looking that way. Why? They stalled while the groomer cleaned the poop off my dog. They knew he had an accident and left him in the crate with it. This was clear animal neglect. They should have canceled appointments if being understaffed was going to lead to abusing dogs. They still charged me for the bath and bum grooming. read more

Blue hair girl on the register is the worst. Thank you and you're welcome goes a long way. Maybe I caught you on a bad day. Anyway, as we were walking out she awkwardly pointed out a spot of clear pee (which my dogs didn't cause -1 no matter how much they drank they create lemonade -2 walked them around the premises for pee and poo before coming in -3 and the fact that I had to watch them the whole time cause they were tugging at me to go forward). Holding my dogs on one and the stuff I bought on the other I was like... okay I'll wipe that, no argument needed. I guess I'll give her points for handing me the cleaning supplies as she stone faced watched me take it from her and wipe the cold puddle of pee near the entry way to the line. Great customer service. My dog had been guilty of peeing at a pet store before. It just happens sometimes, but in all past cases the employees had all been so understand and lent a helping hand...maybe I've just been spoiled :/. I'll just have to make my way to Petsmart on future puppy trips.....sucks cause everyone else that works there had been so delightful. read more

This is close my house and it's a bigger store, however, I stopped coming here after multiple bad attempts of good service. None of the staff workers says hi or offers any assistance even when it is not busy. Two times I checked out with this cashier she doesnt say hi or anything. Just takes my things and scans it with a bad depressive attitude and hands my bag. Like no eye contact whatsover throughout the whole transaction. Let's start by saying once they got a whole new crew in the groomer department they obviously hired people who need more training and have no clue what they are doing. My neighbor and I took our babies to get a quick nail cut. My dog went first and I had to stop them in the middle of the appt. my dog was crying in a way that I have never heard! I banged on the glass to tell her to stop. My neighbor decided to try with his dogs and when the girl dog was done they cut her nails so low that she was bleeding. I would never recommend this place for anything but picking up supplies. I have never left a dog appt so upset! read more

The grooming 'manager' Amy is extremely rude and disrespectful. I called up there to discuss my dog's grooming experience (which was terrible) and Amy was immediately very aggressive and loud with me. She explained that she had been grooming dogs for over 20 years and was a far superior expert than I was on canine knowledge. I then explained to her that I have been BREEDING champion blood line dogs for over 15 years. Which I believe makes me a bit more of an authority on the behavior and overall knowledge of dogs, breeding requires a bit more interaction, knowledge, and experience than simply being a dog washer haha. I ended up hanging up on her because I simply refuse to be talked to like a piece of garbage, especially when I am a paying customer who spends literally over $500 a month at Petco. Anyways, I called up to their corporate office and filed a complaint with Amy's disgusting behavior and terribly poor attitude. We'll see what happens. Until then I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Our one stop shop for all our puppies' needs! My husband and I have two put bull mixes that can put away a good amount of food. I'm thankful this is right down the street from the house and right next to Tom Thumb. So when we go to get groceries we can easily pick up the dog food...the whole family gets to eat! My husband gives me a hard time because I stop and play with almost every dog toy from the entrance all the way back to the food. They have so much cool stuff I can't help myself! I love the bins by the registers that have some top brand toys for discount prices. I always try to sneak some into our purchase because of course our dogs need these!! read more

Employees always ask if I need assistance and always remember my dog when we come in! In addition, the salon has new leadership and they are friendly and thorough. Had an exceptionally positive visit to this location. I was greeted by each associate as I passed and the store was well maintained and well organized. Having become a semi avid birdwatcher, I have taken to decorating my backyard with a number of feeders. This in turn brought nature right into my backyard quite literally. I will not be bringing my Leo back here again. I dropped him off after calling to make sure they had time to groom my dog. They scheduled and appointment at 1 pm and I brought him to get groomed. The receptionist was nice but seemed really rushed and didn't ask much or give us a proper check in. She was just interested in getting my information in the computer as fast as possible. I asked to see the chart that has the different hair lengths on it so I could show her what I wanted. They butchered my dog. His nails are sharp as broken glass. They didn't shave his ears and didn't even bother touching/brushing/trimming his tail. He still had hair between his paws and there were spots underneath him and by his legs that were not even shaved. It was a mess. They called me to pick him up and when I walk in one girl is shoving Lays potato chips in her mouth and the other turns around and runs to grab Leo. The Lays girl says "I love his collar, its so much cuter than those stupid bandanas." (excuse me? I like those bandanas) I was very hesitant to say anything because I just wanted to rush home and fix my dog. He looked terrible. I am a licensed cosmetologist and I could have done a much better job at home FOR FREE! The total bill was 48$ even though on the phone she quoted me 33$ then said never mind its 45$. I finally mustered up the courage to say something and I asked in the nicest way possible "Did you guys even comb his tail?" (my dog is a 15 lb. American Eskimo, their hair gets really long and matted if not cared for properly) She said "oh no, you wanted the tail trimmed right? we combed it" Which they clearly didn't, it was matted and not pretty at all. I feel bad cause these girls are young and seem really nice, they just lack professionalism and attention to detail, which I think is crucial for a big box company such as Petco. I might expect an experience like this at a privately owned groomers but not from Petco. I take my dog to a Petco in Hawaii and they do an excellent job from the moment you walk in. I found a manager and spoke with her about their petco policy CLEARLY hung on their wall that states: Your pet will receive a 7 point grooming assessment and service recommendation with each visit: NOSE EARS EYES MOUTH UNDERSIDE PAWS SKIN AND COAT. Our PETCO grooming promise: We guarantee a proper check-in of your pet or todays visit is FREE. She went to speak with the general manager who I over heard say " I'm trying to get out of here!" when she asked to speak with him. When she returned she said " We can either Re-groom your pet (which they had already begun doing) or we can stop what we're doing and issue you a refund." SO YOURE TELLING ME THAT THEY CAN EITHER LEAVE MY DOG BUTCHERED AND GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK OR FIX THE DOG THEY WAY THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO THE FIRST TIME AND I STILL PAY, EVEN THOUGH YOUR SIGN STATES OTHERWISE????!?!?!?!?! What a joke! I will never come back. I will never go to this Petco again. Petsmart in Lincoln square is always busy with customers (you could hear a pin drop in this petco location) I will take my dog there next time. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS PLACE TO YOU AND YOUR DOG. Terrible experience at the grooming salon. Cayla was rude chewing gum while telling me she won't cut my dog's hair since she thinks it is my dog's first time. Her cigarettes are all over the counter. She then told me they can't accept my dog since his paperwork does not show expiration date for his shots even though it says that he had just gotten them. She herself said the shots last at least a year. I think they just didn't want to deal with my dog because of his breed. I used the same paperwork at their training classes and they accepted them just fine. read more

I would like to start my review by recognizing Saxxon, who went above and beyond for my mother and I during our first visit. I found the first employee I saw and asked for help, which she was more than happy to provide. Even after we learned that she was from the grooming department, she stuck around to show us some amazing coupons on the calendars for sale (which we purchased two of). She then helped us around the store, finding items that matched the coupons and even helped us cut them out while the manager was ringing our items. Today, I called to set an appointment for my dog, Lily, to be groomed. After a few phone calls and arranging for my fiancé to drop her off, everything was set up pretty easily. Over the phone I probably sounded crazy with my description of how I wanted her cut, but Lily looks fantastic, just how I wanted!Besides providing the best customer service I've ever had, Saxxon groomed my dog perfectly, and she just so nice!
