Suncatcher Farm is located approximately 3.3 miles from where Washington Street at Howard turns into Bodega Ave (or 1 mile from Thompson Lane). They have a decent size covered farm stand so you are protected from the elements if it's raining, windy, etc. They farm 10 acres of land for their farm stand, and they are Certified Organic by CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers which is a U.S. Department of Agriculture accredited organic certifying agency and trad e association.). All of their produce are nicely laid out with signage for each one listing what they are and prices. They have a large variety of produce, a scale for weighing if it's by the pound, bags so you can take your treasures home and it's all on the honor system. They have a board with all the ways to pay along with the info you need to do so (Venmo, cash & check). To keep up on the days and hours they are open, it is best to check out their Instagram page (@suncatcher_farm) and Facebook page (@suncatcherpetaluma) for days and times they are open as they do weekly updates. Currently they are open Monday through Saturday 11am to 5pm, and closed on Sunday's. However, they sometimes post that they will be open so keep an eye out on their Instagram and Facebook page. This is one of my two favorite farm stands in Petaluma and I love buying fresh produce from local farmers!

The kind of bitter I had taking over my mouth for half a day even after brushing and rinsing my mouth and eating. This happens when potatoes are exposed to light or extreme heat or cold, it's poisonous actually. I had to throw them all away. They had a few goods made by locals which were cute and some other produce that looked good I bought, but tbh I got scared to eat it after the issues with the potatoes. I like the set up and farmstand a lot, but they need to quality control a bit more.

I thought this would be a nice alternative to the giant, crowded, carnival-like pumpkin patches in…read morethe area and I was right. Peterson's Farm is a small working farm in a hilly rural area just outside of Petaluma. Don't expect a huge parking lot, jumpy houses, sprawling corn mazes and haunted houses. Peterson's is small, intimate, quaint, and low-key. The grounds are very pretty with many trees, barns and fields, etc. However, the patch is rather small and I agree with another reviewer who mentioned the pumpkin selection was pretty slim for early October. They probably have a lot of schools going there to pick up pumpkins during the week. On the grounds you'll find adorable cows, bunnies, ponies, chickens, and geese that you can feed. There are many beehives, a couple apple trees, and a small barn where you can purchase honey and other things like tomatoes and soap (if they have any in stock). The farm is perfect for small children or babies. I wish the areas surrounding the patch were a little more maintained. There are a few dilapidated fences and structures that are laying around in piles and instead of being removed, just have caution tape around them. These "props" did not look good in the background of the photos I was trying to shoot of my toddler picking a pumpkin. Overall this place is really cute and perfect for small children. They have wagons that you can take out to the field to haul your pumpkins back. Luckily, Peterson's doesn't get too crowded on the weekends and there was plenty of parking in their small lot. The pumpkins are reasonably priced according to size, rather than weight. Bring cash because they don't take cards.

This isn't the place to go. If you're afraid of dirt and mud, chickens, honeybees, cows, ponies, or, well... REAL LIFE, like where your food really comes from... Don't come here. Like I said, Peterson's is a real live working farm. The pumpkin patch size was on the smaller side, we got fantastic pictures of my daughter sitting around a bunch of pumpkins in, OH MY GOD, the dirt!!! I was totally stoked to come here and am thrilled that my money has gone directly to helping a family farm thrive. My husband and I laughed at a family that showed up dressed, well, for a stroll in the city... The mother all but had high heels on. Clearly, they were really looking for a place where their spawn could jump in bouncy houses and have a Disney-fied experience of a harvest tradition. They never took the kids out of the Armada and split as soon as they realized that they'd be walking in dirt to peruse the pumpkin patch. Peterson's offers educational tours for children on honey farming, and they grow other seasonal delights in addition to pumpkins - tomatoes, persimmons, dried flowers... I can't wait until my daughter is a bit older to bring her back here, perhaps in the spring, so get another gander at the chickens and cows and ponies (OH MY!!!).

The pricing is based on size which means most of the pumpkins are at least $10-$15. Some of the pumpkins looked good for picking but they were still on the vine, so I imagine people can only pick from the pre cut ones. They had a decent selection for mini pumpkins and gourds. The mini white pumpkins had some imperfections and started at $4 so I unfortunately decided to pass on them. There are some cute photo ops, and there's an ATM on site. The corn maze is probably one of their most popular attractions but my fiancé and I decided not to do it. There's a children's playground that's extra cost, some turkeys, chickens, lambs and horses in the pens. There are some stands for corn dogs, popcorn and lemonade. Lots of parking. I think what's nice about this pumpkin patch is it's free entry and you pay for the stuff you want to participate in/buy which is nice!

Amazing seasonal spot to bring kids and have a fun time!

My daughter who just turn one was so intrigued with the jumpers but unfortunately could not go in unless she was 2. I think they should allow a toddler small section for the babies for family that have older kids and smaller kids to enjoy. She was only really about to see the petting zoo, and be in the corn pit. But kept walking bro the jumpers to admire the kids play. It can wet very hot here during October too especially peak afternoon, which is why we go early. Also expensive, tickets for everything, and then food separately. Hay ride was actually nice, they have set up in the back area you don't see but when the hay ride takes you there it's cool how they incorporated old house home teams for the skeletons.

It is also really popular, so I totally get why it costs as much as it does. It is still an annual trip for us and I look forward to it every year!
