We discovered Hot Dog's when we took our dog Kipper to Glass City Canine (another five star…read morebusiness) which is next door to Hot Dog's six years ago. Kipper won't let us trim his nails at home. We gave up after several unsuccessful attempts. He doesn't like baths or people touching his paws. But, he trusts the ladies at Hot Dog's. He lets them work on him and it doesn't bother him at all. He always comes out happy. Hot Dog's is not close to were we live, but I make the drive every few weeks because it. Is worth the extra time and distance to get superior service. They are very busy but, they have a long list of walk-in services. I really appreciate that! I recently learned that brushing teeth is one of the walk-in services, thanks to their new electronic menu display behind the counter. We now have Kipper's nails trimmed and his teeth brushed while I wait. Kipper goes to Hot Dog's exclusively and has been for the past six years. We tried other groomers in the past with our other dogs, but none can compare to Hot Dog's. I should mention that in addition to the groomers being very good at what they do, the staff are all very friendly, helpful, and efficient. I recommend Hot Dog's for all pet owners, but if you have a dog that gets nervous and is skittish, this is definitely the place to go. If Kipper could type, I'm sure he'd leave his own five-star review?

Based on my personal experience, I have serious concerns about the level of care provided at this…read morepet salon. The environment did not appear calm or reassuring for the animals, and I observed handling practices that seemed overly forceful, particularly with an elderly dog who was struggling to follow directions. During my visit, staff members appeared distracted and unprofessional, and their interactions with customers who expressed concern about their pets came across as dismissive. I also noticed dogs being kept in cages for extended periods before grooming, with little effort made to comfort those that were visibly anxious. Overall, the atmosphere and the handling practices I witnessed left me deeply uncomfortable and concerned about the well-being of the animals in their care.

I called ahead to see if they'd take sensitive dogs and was met with a determined "absolutely!" Because they were busy, they warned that I may want to come in a bit later, which I appreciated. When I got there they were still relatively busy, so they brought their tools to the lobby. One woman held Juno's body in a tight hug while I got to pet her face to keep her calm. They used the dremmel nail grinder on her and they trimmed in less than 5 minutes, and Juno didn't even know! I love how accommodating they were for my dog and myself! For only $8 (bigger dog price) it was worth every penny! I've had problems with the big chain pet stores either trimming too close, and they don't allow owners back with their pet which makes me uneasy. But not Sheri's! I will definitely be back!

This place is near and dear to my heart. Everyone-- it's Lilly's adoption anniversary today!…read more 9 years ago I wandered in just to look at some cute pups, as many of us do. I found an incredibly scared, overweight tan chihuahua formerly named Rita, with a neon green collar huddled in the back corner of her crate. The moment I held her in my arms I knew we had to be with each other. She was severely isolated-- suffering and being treated for a complicated respiratory infection. Someone dropped her off to the humane society with her nails so long they curled under her paws and she could barely walk. She was overweight and yet malnourished. Poor thing was probably eating pizza crusts her whole life. She also had an injury to the top of her tail which I was told was from abuse-- most likely being hit with an item in the shape of a bar. Probably a stick. I could not bare to leave her there. She was my very first dog and my first true love. $100 adoption fee later and Lilly was mine! She is the absolutely best little girl anyone could ever ask for. A little bit of professional training, a proper diet/exercise and she was practically a show dog! I'm crying as I write this because I'm so thankful that I wandered in that day and we found each other. She was 4 years old the day I saw her in that crate. Fast forward and she's been with me 9 years today. It's her rescue anniversary today and I want to shout it from the rooftops. Thank you Toledo Humane Society. She means so much to me!

I had a great place that I had been taking him since he was a puppy and they were very good at grooming. At Bark Avenue I was given an estimate of $60-$70, it would be the higher price if they would need two persons to get his hair cut. First of all the shop is more inclined for big dogs and they have them walking around the shop and barking playing. Well my Yorkie was kept in a crate before and after appointment because he needed a vaccine that was required and I told them he was afraid of big dogs. When I arrived to pick him up the groomer said he was very good and was charged $70.00. When I got home I checked the cut and his paw hair was left with long hair, his sanitary areas were also left long, I asked for teddy bear face cut and summer cut and I was disappointed. This place is good for big dogs.
