Took my dog to bathe him at the store since it's hard to do at home (he always tries to run away). I asked the cashier if I had to pay now or later and she told me whatever I preferred so I decided to pay after. LOVE the shampoo and conditioner options. I brought my own thinking they wouldn't have any but they had so many! My dog came home smelling like strawberries and cream :) (Do note that they don't have brushes but I brought my own). He also kept stealing some of the treats from the bins as I browsed to find him new treats. Got a good deal on some low calorie treats. Honestly the best part was the price. The cashier told me they had a special: one bath for $10 or 5 for $25. It was a no-brainer to get the $25 deal since I know I'll be coming back soon. I'm so used to paying $15 per wash in California before I moved to Ohio that it was such a relief to hear and made my day! read more

I was able to find what I was looking for: an antibiotic for my fish as well as beneficial bacteria to boost the health of my tank. I would give it 2.5 stars if I could. I didn't like the treatment of the fish. There were about 50 goldfish squished into a 10 gallon tank, each about 2 inches long. According to the golden rule, you should aim for 1 inch of fish per 1 gallon of water in your tank. This means that the tank was extremely overstocked. I hope this was a temporary set up or something of the sort. Also, an employee dropped a fish on the floor while attempting to get it for another customer, then proceeded to fumble with it on the floor for a solid few seconds. It made me sad. The store is well organized, making it fairly easy to find what you need. The first time I was in here, it wasn't as organized and clean but much better this time. Docking one star because they were out of a few things I was looking for. The employees are very friendly and asked before petting my dog (she's a rescue and a bit shy). It was a recently purchased & delivered bag of merrick that was past its usable date. I just ordered a new bag of merrick puppy to be delivered. 3 hours ago I received a best used by Aug 2023 - 22 lb bag on my door step. My wife and I love this pet store! They sell Diamond Naturals, which isn't carried by many of the name brand stores like Petco and Petsmart. The staff always seems friendly to me, especially the big guy who I believe is a manager. He's awesome. They always offer my dogs treats when we go for a visit. It's a great store with a wide selection and friendly help. I'd give a 5 rating except the last few times I've been there, "background" music is cranked up too high. Irritating for me, but since dogs and cats have much more acute hearing than humans, I can't imagine the negative impact this is having on the visiting dogs and the cats in cages. I've been shopping at PSP for several years now, and have never been disappointed with the service. Josh, the manager, is top-notch. Both he and his staff are warm and friendly, and extremely helpful. The Stow PSP is the best yet, and I highly recommend them. Went in for my weekly visit to buy food for dog and cats. Also wanted a Pleco. I set down the food and looked at the tanks while a young lady was cleaning the tanks. I moved around her several times and she never asked if I needed help. I then asked if there were any Plecos. She stood and pointed to a tank that had a few. I looked and she immediately sat back down and went about cleaning. I waited about 4-5 more minutes but she kept cleaning and never asked if I needed help. I then walked out instead of purchasing anything after being ignored. Even though I live right around the corner, I will not visit this location again. read more

The store had everything I needed don't get me wrong but when another dog came in without a leash the two associates up front just stared at me trying to keep my dog- who is okay with other dogs 95% of the time away from this other dog didn't even bother to help or ask if I was okay. I love this pet store & would normally give it 5 stars . . . until my visit yesterday. I had a question about guinea pig litter. I asked for help at the checkout (there were 2 clerks at the register & no customers.) I was told I had to wait a minute while the one clerk proceeded to continue with training a second clerk. Seriously? I then asked if there was someone else who could help me. Again I was told to wait just one minute while she finished. There were NO customers waiting in inline!! This training couldn't have waited until after helping me?? I was very annoyed & walked out leaving my full cart at the front. This is so unusual for this store. I have yet to figure out how explaining a product rebate was more urgent than helping a customer. And there was really no one else who could help me. So frustrating. And wrong! read more

Since I rushed here straight after work I didn't have a good chance to really gauge the new location but it doesn't appear to have any of the usual friendly staff members from the old Darrow Rd. store. At the old store, I was always greeted by the cashier or asked if I needed assistance but not at this location. I'm lucky I got a "hello" at the register. Maybe they're still working out the kinks but management should have cleaned house when they had the chance instead of hiring some young kid who talked over the customers and started dancing to Backstreet Boys while I was attempting to just get out of there quickly. The store itself was a disappointment, it appears smaller and not as organized...but the reptile lights are cheaper than before so that's always a plus! I'm not saying I wouldn't give this place another chance, I'm just not in a hurry to do so. They also know longer had the bulletin board for lost pets or pet services/adoptions. And I didn't see any pets at all- just supplies; no fish, birds, hamsters which I was really surprised not to see. I'm actually against buying any type of bird from pet shops due to the harmful conditions they're often kept in,etc... but it just seems odd to be a pet shop with no pets. read more

They gave us very specific (and wrong) information on caring for the fish that we purchased from their store, causing us to spend quite a bit of extra money to remedy the situation.
