I used to wait 5-15 mins, but as my time is just as valuable, my threshold for being at least acknowledged is a fraction of that. With the previous management, customers were acknowledged when they walked in. Not sure what has happened to customer service, however, a word to the wise: If you'd like to not lose sales and increase business, offer great customer service. It makes people want to give you their money when they need items.

Also, they are extremely knowledgeable about everything they sell, from the animals down to all of their supplies/food that they carry. They always make sure that their new owners know how to PROPERLY take care of their new little pet, and are happy to help customers over the phone as well. If you don't mind the quirks and "looks" of the building, then you shouldn't have any problems with this home-y amazing shop. Go make yourself a familiar face at the Hutch!

They only carry high quality foods. Stuff you would never find at the chain places. One of my dogs has some major food allergies and has to have gluten free and I can find a plethora of grain free foods here. What's more amazing than the quality of food, is the quality of customer service. The owner and all of his staff are some of the most AMAZING people I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with! They can tell you how the dog foods are cooked and why one method is better than the other. Or why one brand might be a better fit that another. Or that certain brands are simply a marketing company (coughcoughbluebuffalocoughcough) and have zero interest or control over the quality of food and your pet's health. The owner remembered us after not living in the area for 4 years and returning as a customer once we moved back and treated us like family as he always had. Amazing store and amazing people running it. We get the food all the time but had never seen the treats! Grabbed a pack of the Parmesan cheese flavored for the girls. We also grabbed a bag of Bil Jack treats for them and I got the cats some spray cat nip for their new tree. All of that was just $25! I was totally impressed. The owner of the store was there and he was so friendly and welcoming. I totally would stop in here again... and even make the hour drive to visit him and his store. I love supporting small businesses and this one is well worth the support!

He also kept stealing some of the treats from the bins as I browsed to find him new treats. Got a good deal on some low calorie treats. Honestly the best part was the price. The cashier told me they had a special: one bath for $10 or 5 for $25. It was a no-brainer to get the $25 deal since I know I'll be coming back soon. I'm so used to paying $15 per wash in California before I moved to Ohio that it was such a relief to hear and made my day!

I hope this was a temporary set up or something of the sort. Also, an employee dropped a fish on the floor while attempting to get it for another customer, then proceeded to fumble with it on the floor for a solid few seconds. It made me sad. Other than that, the store was clean and organized, it seemed pretty good for the fuzzy pets. Not so much for the swimmers I suppose.

So literally the main thing I'm paying for is hot water a towel and a place to bathe. The water was ice cold. Seeing that dogs temperatures are higher than humans temperatures. I'm sure it felt worse for my dog. I've use this dog bath a couple of times on other occasions the water was ice cold too. On the other occasions, the water has been a decent temperature, but I have the cold water 100% off and it's hot only but it's luke warm. I was told they had a lot of dog washes today that's why it was cold. Maybe if you turn the hot water tank up a little so a bather actually had to use cold water it wouldn't use up all the hot water after a couple of baths. Do better!
