"No, tell her we're booked out for months and that if she hasn't been here for over two months" I have taken my dog Scarlet to Riptide Grooming and she has been groomed by other groomers. I moved from the Kanawha Valley in 2015 but still return to this kennel although I now live 45 minutes away. I love the consistency of their staff. My dog is glad to arrive which says something. The business is clean and well organized. I don't feel like I'm paying an arm and a leg. I actually feel like I'm leaving my dog with family. I would recommend Abigail's without any reservations !!

These animals are not being cared for, especially the reptiles and amphibians. The condition of the lizards and snakes was appalling. Starving iguana, geckos housed together with no hides, ball pythons housed together, many of the reptiles were clearly too cold as they were sitting directly on glass over heat mats. Ball pythons are nocturnal snakes who are semi arboreal and climb trees, and they sleep underground or in 20-foot-tall termite mounds during the day. Putting one in a little tank with no hides and nothing to climb on under bright lights is abusive, hands down. Even it you want to put the animals on display you can give them a half log hide and dim the lights. Good pet stores will accept that nocturnal animals may hide during the day, which is something prospective owners need to know when they buy a pet. There were many signs of neglect such as a starving baby iguana and a baby ball python covered in stuck shed. They shed their skin all at once in one piece. I do not know as much about bird care but i could tell it was way too many birds and their wings are clearly clipped, which prevents them from doing normal bird things. I grew up with guinea pigs and theirs didnt look so bad but i will say the smell of this store was appalling. I am very used to rodent odors and this was worse than that. This store is not normal. Do not spend money on pet stores that care so little about their animals!
