This store is extremely close to me, I prefer to come here instead of going to other pet stores. Every previous visit I had no problems cashier and other staff members very friendly and helpfu, unfortunately just left there the cashier Lug never greted me and when I ask about the amount to verify it was correct he answered so rude. While I'm paying there was a gentleman behind me that just stand there and he greeted him started talking to him like if I wasn't even still there he gave me the receipt and kept talking to the guy all nice, super disrespectful towards me not even a thank you. read more

Love love this place. Great local pet spot where I can get all the pet goodies. Great range of supplies from everyday to premium brands, options at all price points no matter your budget or brand needs. From cats to dogs, fish to birds, they have it all including pets for adoption. The staff is super friendly and helpful but I love that they support local shelters. At the register you have the option to make a purchase of something to go to a shelter. It can be as small as a can of food or more. They're not pushy about it at all and it's a beautiful idea. I have been going to the Manchester store for years and have always found the employees to be friendly and helpful. That is until September 2017 when I placed a special order for 3 cases of cat food and was promised a call when it came in. Over the next several weeks, I called 3 times and was told to call again to speak with someone else. That someone else was never there when I called back. I went into this Pet Supplies Plus because about 4 years ago I bought my fish tank at the West Hartford location where the man who sold it to us was extremely nice and friendly (he was so great I even remember his name still, Sam). So since I was planning on getting a new fish, I figured I would set up the tank last night and go out today and get the fish and be ready to go. Unfortunately I couldn't get the filter to work (hadn't turned it on in about 2 years). So I brought it into the store with me, and of course it worked right away, like it always seems to. The manager was extremely rude about it, like I had wasted her time, and seemed annoyed when I asked to see the fish. I just chose one and got out of there. If it wasn't for the blizzard outside I would have gone elsewhere, but I was trying to minimize the driving. read more

Pet Supplies Plus is a smaller chain than the big names in Pet Stores, but they have a decent selection and whenever i have gone in for fish tank supplies they seem to have what I am looking for. This trip in it was filters and they had the exact ones i needed. read more

I ran in quickly for dog food and Greenies, the food I was looking for was on sale which was great. Before I found Greenies I found a similar product that was on sale, but of course the size I need for a 10lb dog was the smallest of the sizes of treats that didn't have the sign in front of it so I asked a young man that asked if I needed help, he came back a minute later saying that product wasn't on sale but that he'd give it to me for the sale price. Not sure how it couldn't be on sale, but the fact that he gave it to me earns them 4 stars. read more

Well you can find it at pet supplies plus in Manchester. Me and my husband went in recently with our German Shepherd Nala not knowing why she would be destroying our house and car when left alone. She would chew everything in the car from the radio dials shifter seats when I say everything I mean everything. Whether she is left alone for 5 minutes or an hour it didn't matter she would still destroy anything when left alone. When I was in the store a bit ago we saw a young lady cleaning up the isles and was very busy but when we asked her for help she was glad to take the time to help us and Nala. We love taking her everywhere with us but this behavior makes it very difficult to do so. We told this young lady what she has been doing and she knew right away why she was destroying things when left alone and that she had separation anxiety. She also told us some very lovely tips that she used on her shepherd mix that has the same issues like crate train put things that smell like us in the crate leave a radio on when we left and to start in small spurts of 10 minutes or so. We also got the names of some really good behavioralists that she recommended to help who can go more into the depths of her troubles one on one. She even helped us pick the right size crate seeing how we never used one for our dogs before she even showed us how to set it up and break it down. Even gave us a coupon she got in the mail due to the store doesn't have veteran discounts she let us have her coupon. Best experience I have ever had there this young lady even helped us carry around the crate we had to get and even carried it out to the car and loaded it, and the manager that was there at the time she also helped us out upon checking out. Our Nala is getting better with her destructive side thanks to the knowledge this lady had I just wish I could remember her name but she was a tad bigger and blonde but by far she goes above and beyond to help people as from what we can tell from her helping us. read more

Their selection kind of sucks... It just does, but they are so convenient and they support animal causes. It's just a nice feeling when you walk in. My cat is finicky (big surprise) so if they run out of something I have to drive across town, but I understand this because they are local and not able to supply everything like Petco and Petsmart. I give them 5 stars because they have always made me feel welcome and they even ask how my cat likes her food. I really like that. I've never had to deal with the managers, but the one that I did was pleasant and very helpful. read more
