The last couple of years have seen a serious decline in putting customers first. As a loyal customer since 1998, I'll now be looking elsewhere for my pets needs, and it hurts. I'm a supporter of shopping smaller businesses vs big box, but whomever was in charge of making recent changes has really forced my hand. 1. PSP is stopping the "buy 12 get one free" program this year. As someone with multiple pets who purchased multiple bags of high end expensive foods, this hurts. However, I have found another small business who still has this program with no interest in canceling it, so I'll be buying dog food there from now on. 2. PSP stopped selling bulk food for small animals. This was the best value for purchasing only what I needed as far as Oxbow rabbit pellets. Now I have to buy a larger bag, which is twice the price per pound than the bulk bins were. On top of that, your bags of food are $10-15 more than other pet stores down the street. 3. Mandatory point redemption. Every month now, your site automatically redeems earned points to a gift certificate of at least $10 if enough points are accumulated. I personally don't need to buy any dog food this month because I just bought some last weekend. Now I have a $10 reward to use or lose by the end of the month, essentially forcing me to make a purchase. I can go on, but many other customers have been saying the same things all over your socials. I hope someone in charge recognizes the many changes for the worse, because I am not the only one who will be shifting m business elsewhere. read more

This store is located in Mequon on Port Washington Road. Originally taken appointment for 06/03. The groomer took about 10 mins to do paperwork, later said our dog is a big breed (Golden Retriever) and she can not fully take care of grooming. Rescheduled grooming for 06/07. On 06/06 she called and said she will charge $40 more as she need someone to help her. I agreed. Arrived on time on 06/07. The dog was taken in for grooming. After half hour she calls back again saying she can not groom as the dog has a hair mat under his ear. Very surprising! From day one this groomer was reluctant to groom the dog for reason best known to her. The manager showed up to discuss the issue. Offered to waive $40 additional charge the groomer was asking. Well I was not interested in that waiver. I lost time two times visiting to shop and the wait time for my schedule. There was a clear pattern in the attitude shown by the groomer from day one. Pet Supplies Plus should hire groomers those have patience and compassion for pet. Not the type whom I encountered. read more

This is my favorite location of Pet Supplies Plus in the Milwaukee metro. It's always clean and organized, the staff is always friendly, and, as with other locations, their selection of high quality products is top notch. I shop here specifically for dog food, but typically end up buying toys for the cats or chews for the dogs while I'm in as well. I love their expansive selection of dog food (easily one of the best in terms of selection and quality in the area). They carry Victor's, which is our go-to, at a more reasonable price than I've been able to find it elsewhere. One thing they don't seem to have is any live animals, which I know some locations elsewhere have. So, if you're looking for that, this is not your spot. But, for everything else to care for your fur family--this is your spot! Get to it! read more

I was at Pet Supplies Plus on S. 76th St. yesterday. I can't remember how much I saved with an email coupon (25% off entire order, including sale and coupon items) and in-store coupons (buy 3 treats get one free; buy one litter get one half off), but it was a LOT! I'm set with dry food, canned food, lots of treats and litter for quite a while. My cart was so full it was actually a little hard to push. As I paid, a young gal appeared and said she's there to help me unload my cart! I thought no way! Years back, I would have said "no thank you," but I'm a senior now and I really struggle with 40- to 42-pound boxes of litter. I just can't carry or lift what was once easy-peasy for me. Everyone is always polite and helpful at Pet Supplies Plus. I was especially grateful for the help unloading. I only wish I had offered my helper a tip, or at least noticed her name. I wondered afterward if that's the protocol now for such things. I didn't know; it was a new experience. Experiences (and $avings) like that are what bring customers back. A no frills pet store that doesn't sell pets. The variety of foods, toys and whatever other supplies you may need for your home zoo is enormous. I find the prices to be lower than other stores in the area (for the better foods, at least), and they always have some kind of sales promotion going on. You may bring your pet in here, as long as it is in a carrier or on a leash. Not gonna lie, I had an enormous rabbit that I brought in to fit for a harness. Ended up trying on dog harnesses because the rabbit ones were way to small....glad I did that; saved me several trips! I surprised a few of the other customers, too, so that was fun! Bonus? If your pet has an accident, the staff will clean it up. Doesn't even phase them. DO NOT take your pet to the low cost vaccination clinic which is here every 2 weeks. We brought 2 kittens in for their first shots, etc. They did a feline leukemia test (blood draw), which was super traumatic for the kittens. I wondered at the time if the Vet knew what she was doing. Then, a few days later, we received an e-mail which said there had been something wrong with the testing tubes and the tests had to be repeated. NO way I would take them back there. If something goes wrong, what do you do? You can only call a 1-800 number. read more
