I took my dog here for the first time yesterday to give him a self service wash. The area was clean, bright and a nice size for my 160 lb Cane Corso. There were aprons, shampoos and conditioners available. I wished there were pet brushes to massage in the shampoo as I've seen at other self serve facilities and I wished the temperature was a little warmer on the dryer but even without having those things, Bentley enjoyed his bath time. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It's a nice neighborhood store. I wished they carried more options of fresh pet dog food.

The dog tubs to self wash your pet is always hairy, with hairy towels and wet hairy floors. The manager Lauren told me it was not humanly possible to remove all the hair from the bathing tubs. Which I thought was gross and ridiculous for her to state. She was very unprofessional while speaking to me and non accommodating. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO BATH THERE. THE TUB ALSO, SOMETIMES HAVE DEAD TICKS AND FLEAS IN THEM. read more

We decided to take a visit to Pet Supplies Plus to celebrate the doggie's birthday. This is a well organized store that allows pets to roam the aisles. My dog went straight to the treats and proceeded to pick out two birthday gifts. While checking out I asked did they have birthday treats and luckily they had an entire case of treats to choose from. The cashier was extremely pleasant and offered complimentary treats to the birthday boy. I will definitely return for special treat days when we want to celebrate our little guy. read more

I'm updating this review because I had a very positive experience with Becca, one of the managers. This isn't the first time I've had a positive customer service experience with her, but today she went above and beyond to retain me as a customer. One of the other managers, who I will leave unnamed, ho should really consider finding an occupation outside of customer service . or personal interactions in general. So, let me start off by saying that I only patronize this store because of the self serve dog wash stations. I have tried to use the salon, but no one EVER returns my call (I was instructed to leave my contact info on the clipboard). Dog wash station (1 star) I purchase the "dirty dog" plan, 5 washes for $45. This is a GREAT deal. If you have a large dog, the stations are a bit tight. It is sometimes a bit difficult to wash both sides of the dog because the area where you "attach" the dog is only on one side. There is not enough room to reach over/under the dog to wash the other side well. The large dog doesn't have much room to switch sides (turn to face the other direction). (Competitors have wash stations where the dog faces front and you can literally walk from the left side to the rear and to the right side to wash/rinse the dog with ease.) The water pressure here is too low. I always have to ask for additional towels, 2 thin towels just don't do the trick. The blow dryers FREQUENTLY do NOT work. Apparently, the breaker trips and the staff has to reset it. Not a big deal, but leaving my pet unattended is something I just would rather not do. Also, the dryer only blows cold air! During my first visit, I paid and was just told where the wash station was. But, there were no instructions provided and it was a bit off putting...water was cold (After letting it run, it got way too hot), the drain was clogged (I figured out how to get the hair out). Staffing (2ish stars) There have been LOTS of times where I have to hunt for the staff; they are rarely easily found. BUT, they are ALWAYS helpful and very nice. When I am able to find someone, s/he is working, not just goofing off. The store has a "points/loyalty" program. But, I have to remind the staff member that I am a member, I have never been asked, nor have I ever earned a perk?! Parking (5 stars) Plenty of spaces and several reserved spaces in front of the store. There is a large grassy area where you can allow your dog to relieve him/herself. You would think there would be a trash can or two and waste bags available and in plain site, accidents do happen. Prices (3 stars) Comparable, nothing extraordinary. The dog was 5 for 45) is what drew me in, but I don't know if it's worth doing again. $15per wash at the competition but better stations may just be worth the price. read more

Came here for the dog wash, was very unsatisfied. No one was at the front to help so I had to go look for someone. After a bit of bumbling I finally got help. I paid for my wash and was given no instructions afterwards. Keep in mind, I made them aware this was my first time here. I figured things out on my own even though i had to call out for help to learn how to turn the dryer on. It cut off before my dog was fully dry. The was area was unkempt and the employees, except for one, were too busy chatting to help anyone. Absolutely will not be returning. Go up the street to the dog/car wash. MUCH better experience there! read more

I did not know about this store was nearby and MOST GLAD I "found" it. I had visited the local (yuck) Petco and had a most terrible visit there. What a WONDERFUL change! I must mention here that my wife, Lisa, is in the last stages of pancreatic cancer here at home hospice. One of her joys is to watch our fish in a 3-1/2 and 5 gal tanks set up on her night tables. 3 goldfish had died after 5 years, and I was in a hurry to replace them to naturally keep her as happy as quickly possible. After my terrible experience at PETCO (yuck!), I searched the internet for local pet stores, and found Pet Supplies Plus nearby. I admit that I did not think beyond the perimeters of PETCO (yuck!) before and am most happy that there is an excellent alternative to the other pet supply "lord" (yuck). What a difference! The interior is nice in atmosphere, very clean throughout, and not smelly like the other one (yuck). Employees made me feel welcome, and ACTUALLY walked with me to the aquatic section, introduced me to the rep, who gave prompt and friendly attention to my needs. I told him how badly I was treated at Petco (yuck!), and he did all he could to help Lisa out, quickly, knowledgeably, and genuine concern. In and out within about 15 minutes with the proper stuff. And my Lisa is smiling again. Everyone there were friendly and attentive to me, making me feel like they really cared about me, my returning business and word of mouth. It was a very refreshing change to Petco (yuck!), and honestly a LOT of other stores I have been to in my life. I used to work many years in customer service and am very happy that these employees exhibited the same skills I (and all other reps) strived to do. At home, I did some research on this company as compared to Petco (yuck!), finding that Petco (yuck!) has over 1600 stores compared to Pet Supplies and More 600 stores. Yet the annual revenue is about the same. This tells me that Pet Supplies and More is doing a much, much better job, and creates the same large revenue with much, much less, which in turn means that they have much better customer service! Customer service is always an issue when I enter this store. Typically I have to wait for a cashier to show up --sometimes 10 minutes-- as I stand there waiting with a bag of dog food to purchase. No line. One customer. Today I had a 9 a.m. grooming appointment scheduled. I show up at 9 a.m. with my dog and was told that the groomer has cancelled all her appointments for the day. No phone call , no text, nothing. And no coupon offered for the inconvenience and expense of having to make a wasted trip there. How utterly unprofessional. Until this place showed up the only choice we had in the area was a Petco that's hit or miss on stock and service availability. The staff here is incredibly friendly and although it's clear they're still getting set up (they're still in soft-opening mode) the employees make up for it. It's also very clean and offers some niceties like baked dog goods. When I tried to buy a fish they warned me it wasn't a very active specimen, which was nice of them rather than just trying to sell it and make a few bucks. This is a good new addition to the community. I look forward to their upcoming curbside ordering as well. read more

This place is amazing I went in yesterday and Brayvin was awesome very sweet. He gave me great recommendations for cat food and let me know if my cat didn't like the food I could come back for a full refund. Needless to say my cat enjoyed the new food and a great impression was made it seems we found our new pet store to go to and we are looking forward to what's to come! read more

After having a few emergency grooming appointment come up, went through calling local groomers in the Eldersburg area and they had waiting lists for MONTHS. I shop at Pet Supply Plus and am thrilled they carry my off-brand Kangaroo dog food for my allergic pup. But I'm even more thrilled that I now know I can absolutely count on Megan at the store to do a GREAT job on my two dogs. My older dog became diabetic, is a super fur ball, and Megan was able to take him in and give him a great cut so we could give him his insulin without 4 inches of fur in the way. She's done both dogs, and gets them in and out quickly - a far cry from other groomers that had taken hours to return them. If you're wondering about going here, trust me - Megan is wonderful and I trust her to do my dogs again. Thanks Megan! read more

My dog has a lot of food allergies, so I started coming to PSP because they're the only store who supplies his special ingredient food. But now we go there because we love the people! Everyone there loves animals and my dog loves to say hello to everyone when we visit. We even stop in when we're just out for a walk.
