The PetSmart really used to be my go-to for stuff for my animal but in the last year I've decided to cut ties with PetSmart and no longer do business. One of my main issues started when I was having my dog groomed I set up an appointment to have my dog groomed I wanted a full groom wash nail trim cut style everything I wanted to works and when I went in and taking my dog 5 minutes before my drop off time I was told I had to go wait in my car with my dog for another half hour because they were busy and they started waiting on people behind me and taking their dogs in so I waited then I came back and the girl goes well we're busy and they had to cut half of what I was having done for my dog and I said then there's no point in me going you're just giving him a bath and trimming his nails I'm not doing that this is what I booked and I booked this a month out it's not my fault that you ever booked and the girl wanted to argue with me so I decided to find another company to grow my animal which I am happy that happened because I'm much happier. The issue that broke the camel's back was me having my dog trained all of my dogs have been trained at Petco and I have to say I've never had an issue until the last person that you hired to do the training the person was more in depth about talking about his bachelor's degree in biology and that's why he is always right correcting me when I was saying my dog good boy because I shouldn't assume my dog's gender are you kidding me I think his penis tells you that. And he didn't help where I had to resort to the old style training which actually worked with my dog where his training did not my dog is very hyperactive my dog is very high energy and his was oh well you just ignore the dog you just ignore the dog and then they learn and it's like no that does not work in this case and I'm sorry that does not work in majority of dogs it's to reinforce good habits and to get rid of bad habits but yet anytime you started to talk with him or had a disagreement he would bring up his degree and how smart he was and yet we spend about half the class about him talking about how smart he is and his degree when he's working at Petco I made a complaint it went on deaf ears I stopped going to the classes I didn't even finish going to the classes which I paid for because I was like I'm not dealing with this anymore and I'm not dealing with this person very unprofessional and I'm sorry I'm there to train my dog not to hear about your political views not to hear about what you've done in your life unless it has to do with me training my dog. read more

Stopped by five minutes before closing they had lock the doors and employees made eye contact with me and hid behind the cash register. Sorry but..seriously? I shop here every single time I need anything for my pets I have three dogs one cat and one fish so you can imagine I've spent a good amount of money here. Decent employees, absolutely trash products and pricing. I stopped here one day to get my bearded dragon mealworms. I had the option of 25-50 meal worms. Normal/average sized, or Large mealworms. I chose to buy large mealworms 50ct. Once I got home I see the mealworms are below average size, about 15 dead, and i counted 8 live average sized mealworms I could feed. I paid $7 for this....I paid $1 per mealworm essentially....this is absolutely horrific quality control. There is not a chance I would EVER spend another dollar here. Go to petco off of 27 you can get the same 50ct and sometimes you will actually get more, alive, fat mealworms. Dont waste your money, if there quality control is that bad on something so basic. read more

I love the Westminster Maryland location. The employees are happy to help when I have questions. I recently bought fish and supplies with much help from Maribeth. It was so refreshing to go into a store and have personal help with questions and finding items. I have followed the young lady's suggestions and my tank is thriving. I am excited to go back and buy more when the time is right. Oh and they even test your tank water for free. At the register when I was waiting, an older woman had purchased a big container of cat liter. I was impressed to hear the cashier offer to get her help to her car with it. This store is truly customer friendly and full service. My family will be back for sure. read more

Took my dog in for a grooming appointment I made 2 weeks ago. I have had my dog groomed at the Westminster and Sykesville locations on several occasions. When I made the appointment for the Westminster Petsmart, I told Amanda my dog has never been crated. I requested a groomer just coming on duty and I would wait for my dog to be completed with his bath, nail trim and blow dry and brush out. In the past, I have said the same thing upon making each appointment. I was quoted a price of $48. for the service. When I got there, I reminded the grooming receptionist about no crating. When she told the groomer Paige, she said they would need to charge me $11.50 extra for no crating. I explained to the grooming staff my conversation with Amanda, who said NOTHING about a no crate charge. I also explained previous visit, there was never a mention of a no crate charge. The grooming staff all had a very bad attitude while arguing with me about this charge. Needless to say, I did not have my dog groomed there. Upon leaving the store I spoke to the store manager about what had just transpired. He apologized and explained, the ONE groomer Paige, must crate a dog, if a walk in nail trim comes in. I had an appointment. What if she was in the middle of bathing my dog?. Would she crate him to go give a nail trim to a walk in? Be careful at Petsmart with what they tell you and what they actually do and charge. I will not be back for grooming needs. read more

The location isn't bad but the company as a whole needs some work especially when it comes to the animals they sell. The supplier of the Reptiles are poor at best. Most of them that are sold by petsmart are sick and at deaths door. I feel really bad for them. read more

The store is clean and the staff is friendly. However, I am quite put off by their corporate labeling. It is quite deceptive! Unless you are willing to lay down in the floor to read the shelf labeling, you might be surprised when you get to the register! Buyer beware! read more

After having my dog groomed here for 5 years, I was told " your dogs ears are matted, we can't groom her. Take her to your veterinarian". That's fine, I will take my business elsewhere. I normally love the service. Should have stuck with my normal groomer. Picked up my pup and then realized that his ears where still dirty, not trimmed and had some matted hair still on him? Shaved around his eyes?? I could have done a poor job at home. Very disappointed. read more
