I only come here when I can't make it to Petsmart. The points reward system is terrible and hard to use. The employees have always been great and I was so disappointed in Pet Supplies Plus when I found out how much per hour they pay their employees. The pet industry is extremely profitable and you are paying your employees the minimum required by law. Here's my perspective, and it's something I've noticed across various nearby stores. I've observed that popular wet cat food brands like Fancy Feast or Sheeba are priced ALWAYS up to 10% higher here compared to local grocery stores. Given this price difference, I'm compelled to question the advantage of shopping at "specialized" pet stores. Additionally, navigating the aisles can be a challenge due to the frequent blockages caused by pallets of unpacked pet food and other items, making it difficult to move a shopping cart around. Furthermore, why are identical pet food brands and types scattered in several locations throughout the store? This layout is very confusing. Lastly, the rewards system is fraught with glitches and is not user-friendly, which really takes a toll on the overall shopping experience. Pet food choices and brand offerings are decent. read more

I have to give a shout out to Pet Supplies Plus - Ashland, MA for their amazing customer service and handling of Charley. First time bringing him there for a nail trim. The store was busier than normal and they were short staffed. You would have never known based on the way the staff that was working, handled it.. His appointment was @ 2 but they didn't take him until 2:30. They were pleasant, communicated with me about the delay and were just so good with Charley with his wiggling and knocking shit off shelves, grabbing any and all toys he could while we waited. Lilly, who did his nails, was a rock star. They have won over this tough dog mom and we will most definitely be back! read more

I started going to Pet Supplies Plus two years ago. First the prices are much lower than any other pet store around. But more importantly, the employees are wonderful. They are so knowledgeable and any advice they have given has always worked. Not sure about the other locations, but the Ashland store deserves more than five stars! read more

FISH IN HORRIBLE CONDITION‼ I have never had a negative experience here until now. the workers were very polite and helpful but the state i found my fish in was absolutely disgusting. when i was looking at the bettas, one cup stood out to me the most because it was absolutely filthy and the fish was barely moving, but he was alive. i decided to pick up that one and i actually loved the fish inside and decided to buy it. but after further looking in the cup i found a whole other half decomposed fish in with mine! i don't know how long the poor fish was sitting in the tiny cup with a half decomposed fish. the other fish was all white and there were fish bits everywhere. i wish i took a picture to show but i went straight to the front desk. I told the workers and they were extremely helpful which i am grateful for. they cleaned the cup out and did apologize. but i am still disgusted how there was a half dead fish with a fully alive one. i brought the fish home, and he is doing well. he is extremely active in the new tank and seems very happy. i just want Ashland pet supplies plus to do better. take better care of the animals you have for sale. the state i found this fish in is beyond is disgusting, and i hope they strive to be better. read more

Pet Supplies Plus just opened in the King's Crossing Plaza on Route 126 in Ashland in a space which has been vacant since I started frequently visiting Ashland for different purposes. While not humongous, they did a great job with making the layout flow and keeping all like items together. The layout in general works well and I was able to find everything I was looking for very efficiently. This store is also quite pleasant because it's exceptionally cleaner and more organized than some of the other Pet Supplies Plus locations that are sort of grimy. The staff were all super friendly, kind and helpful, and even for the grand opening knowing exactly where things were. I saw three different customers walk up to one employee and all ask for completely opposite things and that one person was able to direct all of them (good job training the associates, Pet Supplies Plus!). For a grand opening, they had plenty of deals and many more than some other places have when they open. Free coffee and donuts, free item table (with any purchase) and a page of coupons to accompany the grand opening. They have a dog wash, and a large and broad spectrum of all and any foods, treats and toys for pets. Good service and everyone was happy and helpful. While I don't live in the area, it must be nice for Ashland, Sherborn, and even Framingham residents to not have to hike up to Route 9 to go to Petco Petsmart. Plus, prices here are cheaper and the rewards are better. Good job Pet Supplies Plus, this location is a winner!!! I will definitely be returning when I am in the area again, and would highly suggest this spot for locals... it's a new place, but a needed place for the area. 5 stars. read more

Went in today to bathe 2 of my friends dogs, using their self wash. My friend paid for both of her dogs, and the associates even sold her on a punch card for $40 for more self washes. She was emailed the receipt. As I'm leaving the store, I get chased down by one of the employees, Kate. Kate told me I didn't pay for my services at the self wash. I told Kate my friend paid for both of the dogs. Kate told me I didn't pay for either of them. I told her again, both of the dogs were paid for. She still refused to believe me. My friend tried explaining to Kate that she paid for the services, to which then Kate said she only paid for one of the dogs. She refused to believe either of us. After telling her multiple times we paid for the services she still didn't quite believe us, but ended up walking away. I called back to talk about the situation, to which Kate told me she was "allowing me" to wash my friends dogs, but she let it go. She also told me none of the employees saw my friend paying for her dogs, to which I asked how did she leave with a brand new punch card and a receipt? Kate told me they did see her paying. So which is it? Totally unprofessional and just disrespectful to accuse us of not paying for our services. And then to go in circles on the phone, lying her way out of a situation she knew she handled unprofessionally. They need better communication and organization there. To just chase a customer out of the store and tell them they didn't pay for their services is ridiculous! We had the receipt in hand and we both explained to Kate we paid to which Kate argued with me further saying "no one told me." Do better pet supplies plus. At pet supplies in Ashland. You are always greeted by an employee who asked if you need any help. They are always there if you have a question or need help carrying some thing. They are pleasant and often if there are more than a few people in one line they will open another. Lately there has been a shortage on certain types of cat food which I understand is a national problem and a little disappointing but it's not their fault. There is still plenty of selection. read more

We were delighted to find a pet store closer than Petco or Petsmart. Initially we were emailed coupons that made our purchasing at Pet Supplies Plus worth the while. We bought LID food which we usually buy online right at the store at comparable prices. However, with recent management change, there seems to be a reluctance in matching prices. Staff members are either not knowledgable or that the management has newer rules. Earlier, right after a purchase we were asked to fill out surveys about customer service and if we were helped at the store. It seemed like they were keen on developing happy clientele. None at this time. I am going to wait it out and see if they settle down to serving the community and the pet population in ways that it started out doing. read more

Great prices if you compare to others. If you become a pet perks member you get excellent deals and coupons. I've washed my dog there and it's quite clean. My ONLY complain is the staff isn't the most knowledgeable. 2 of the employees told me "dogs can't taste... the taste with their nose" UMMMMM??? Anyone that is selling a product should know and be trained what it is they are selling and representing. Other than that I'm a loyal customer now. read more

Agreed this is a good addition to Ashland. The mall it is in has a hard time attracting high quality tenants. It is also a nice store. Taking over what used to be a fashion bug store. That being said, yet another pet store with no stock and tons and tons of food. I was happy to find the food I like for my pet but it was majorly expensive. At least 25 cents per can higher than "Pet World" in Natick and even higher than Chewy on line. There was very limited selection of cat scratchers; litter boxes; or any other basics. They make the most of the space but I can't see me going there. read more

Loved my experience with self dog wash. The employee who helped me(wish I remembered her name) was super helpful, not only her but everyone there. It was my first time and she made me feel comfortable and helped me through the process of bathing 2 huge akitas, which at the end of it all left the place covered with fur.. when I asked her for a mop, so I could try to clean it up, she insisted it that she would do it and I didn't have to worry about it. DONT GET ANYTHING DONE THERE. took my puppy there to buy food and maybe some nail clippers and since it's my first dog I didn't know what to get exactly. I asked for helped and the lady said they can clip her nails there. My puppy squirmed and screamed and the person said she was being dramatic. Honestly my puppy does NOT cry for no reason and she definitely hurt her. Never taking there again. I'll only go there to get food which honestly I can get anywhere else. read more

I found Pet Supplies Plus while searching online for a particular dog food; the price was 15% lower than Amazon or Walmart. While browsing the site for other items, I discovered this retail outlet was about a 30 minute drive from my house, and so I placed my order for store pick-up, and subsequently received a timely email that my order was ready. When I arrived at the store the next evening my order was organized and ready at the entrance. The staff member at the register offered to load the items - 30# bags of kibble and bird seed. I asked if they had live fish and was escorted to the back of the store, where I found a substantial display of tropical fish and plants in healthy, clean aquatic environments. I was offered assistance by another staff member in the department and I selected 10 fish - 2 varietals that I have had difficulty finding at other pet stores. The fish were packaged per my request. Since it was cold outside, the original person helping me suggested I warm the cabin of my truck and pull up for loading. One associate placed the heavy bags in my truck bed, while the other placed the live fish in my truck cabin. The service level, knowledge, and friendliness of the 3 staff members I encountered was off the charts. Reflecting on my visit, I could not think of a prior retail experience that was as positive as my experience at the Ashland Pet Supplies Plus. Kudos to the 3 store associates on duty March 17th. I visited this store on 11/15 to buy some cat food. They did not have the food in stock so the cashier Naddacg wrote up a special order to have the food ordered. She told me that it would be a week to come in and that they would call me. I never got a call and when I called them they said that the order did not come in. I waited another week since it was the holiday and still no call from them. I went down to the store and spoke to someone and they said that the order did not have my cat food. They said that they will call another store and have someone go get the food and I can pick it up the next day. I went in the next day to get the food and it was the wrong brand! I am extremely disappointed with Pet Supplies and how incompetent they are with customer service! Chris called me from the store and told me that he had to go the Plymouth store to get the cat food and made it sound like it was a huge inconvenience to him! Why is that my problem?? Then he told me that he would give me 10% off since I had to wait so long to get the food. They NEVER gave me the discount when I went to get the cans of food. Buyer beware!! You are better off going to Pet Smart or ordering it online from Chewy.com! read more

This store is a great addition to Ashland. The staff is very knowledgeable and they have everything you can think of. They also have a station to wash your own dog which I've not tried but will soon!
