Love going to this small business and dealing with Pam. I have even asked her to order the dog food that I use for me. SO happy with their business. Thank you. read more

Love this pet store! I wish I had known about them sooner. I usually go to Petco or Petsmart to get pellets for my parrot, which I'm not a huge fan of. I did a search one day trying to find another pet store nearby, and Mayo's came up. I gave it a shot, as it was only 7 min drive from my home. What an awesome pet store! The guy at the counter is so nice and friendly. We got to chatting about his two beautiful birds (Baby and Breeze). Baby is such a character--I almost burst out laughing when she started kissing her own reflection in her little mirror. Can't wait to run out of food for my parrot again. lol read more

great customer service, love this place, my first time there and the lovely lady there (very knowledgeable by the way) answered all my questions, I will be back to buy my tropical fishies there for sure. Thank you Lovely Lady. read more

Really great experience buying our green cheeked conure from Mayo's pet store. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and was eager to help us with all our questions. They had a large selection of everything we needed for our bird. Very healthy bird and my daughter is so happy with her new pet Mango! read more

My favorite local fish store all the pets are extremely healthy and well taken care of I come here to buy fish and tank equipment all the time read more

This store is the best pet store we've been in. We have bought cages, furry pets, fish, lizards, newts and a bird and We LOVE MAYOS! All of our pets have been healthy and made wonderful additions to our family. The ones we bought 9 years ago lived longer than the normal life expectancy and were delightful! Pam, Paul, Mark and Donna are great and they have a wonderful and reasonably priced wing and nail clipping for birds on Sundays. We LOVE MAYOS! 5/3/2008 Update: Silly me, how could I forget to mention that the bird in my user photo, Bloo, is from Mayo's? Bloo will be in our family two years this June (10th to be exact) and Bloo's vet was very impressed with Bloo's health report at his first checkup! We love our Bloo and we love Mayo's! read more

My fiance and I ventured out to Mayo's (half hour drive) to find plants for our new fish tank. We were excited to scope out a new pet/fish store that got such great reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately what we found was a disappointment. The fish department had a lot of tanks, but no live plants (the tanks were totally stark other then crowded fish). I saw one tank with two dead crayfish laying upside down. We pretty much left after that. And as for friendliness, we walked by the man at the register twice. He was doing nothing but sitting there and we didn't hear a peep from him. Clearly other people have had better experiences, and maybe fish are just not their focus, but if you are in the market for fish or live aquarium plants, save your time and go somewhere else. read more

The owners/salespeople at this store were super helpful for new dog owners. Loved the personal touch and attention given to us!

We just bought our first rabbit at Mayo's. The staff there were so knowledgable and helpful. It is a great store for supplies, small animals, birds and fish. They don't sell dogs or cats, instead they refer people to the local shelters. A great place. They came recommended to us by another friend who is also very pleased! read more

Very knowledgeable and helpful.....rather than going for the quick sale, they actually helped diagnose my aquarium issue and sent me on my way with no new fish. Once I get things corrected, I will return and purchase some friends for my tank! Thank you Mayo! read more

Mayo's Pets & More - Pet Stores Near Me - Northborough, Massachusetts

Wonderful little pet store! The customer service was fantastic and they even called me back after finding the item I was looking for. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. I'll be going there again soon! read more

Best place ever. I only buy my fish here! The owner gives amazing advice and tells you where to get the best products, the place is very nice and everything is perfectly priced! If I could buy more fish from here I would!! read more

I like Mayo's. They're close to my mom's house and were on my way home from an old job so I used to stop in every couple weeks to pick up something, often times to browse and find something I didn't know I needed! They have a wide variety of items but not a huge selection. I didn't spend a lot of time in their dog/cat supplies but they have a very impressive aquatic supply selection for a local shop and their small animal section was fantastic. The owners were just wonderful too, they were nice, just chatty enough and very knowledgeable. I'd absolutely shop here again! read more

The folks at Mayo's are the best. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and know their animals. This is the best place in the area to get fish, turtles, birds, and pet supplies. Visit them today. They're fantastic. read more

They get there bearded dragons from real legit people. Their not sick beardies, not mass produced. Healthy little guys. And everything related to bearded dragons for food and items for them, are the same you find everywhere else in pet stores (plus more) ...and everything is so cheap compared to every pet store ive been too. I bought two turtles from them when they were still in Hudson downtown, they lived for a loong time lol. Great place, and there bird is wicked funny. (The one thats theirs and not for sale, that talks) read more

Mayo's is a great place with nice knowledgeable staff. I bring my bird there to get his wings clipped. Lots of toys and different choices for food there. You can purchase animals there as well. Stay out of Petco and go to Mayo's! read more

It's rare that I review places but this one deserved a call out. I went there two days ago to buy supplies for a new dog including a harness. I had to guess at the size of the harness because I did not yet have the dog. The cashier told me it would not be an issue if I needed to exchange the harness for another size once fitted. After trying the harness on I headed back in today to exchange it for the next size down. The only harness they had in stock in the correct size was the "deluxe" version. Instead of making me pay the extra cost the cashier (new guy this time) gives me the deluxe harness as an equal exchange. I asked for some advice for some training treats for a picky eater and when I tried to buy the recommended treats he gave me those free of charge as well. They probably lost $15 on me today but bought a customer for life. Damn impressive customer service! read more

Friendly, knowledgable, will talk... at length. Quality products at reasonable prices Not a giant selection of aquarium materials, but had everything I look for. I would definitely recommend it. read more

I love this pet store. It's the only place around me that I can find bunnies to buy. The bunny I bought there, Meatloaf, is a doll. He's so sweet! The owners are great too. They showed my sister and I how to hold the bunny and even held him for us while we went to ask our mom if we could buy the bunny and someone else wanted to buy him. If you want a quality pet that is going to be friendly and not infested with something (which happens at other pet stores) then buy your pets here! read more

Mayo Pet store is amazing! They have been kind over the past few years to donate goldfish and guppies for our kindergarten students to observe and learn about! They are always very nice and I highly recommend them! read more

Every time I've set foot in Mayo's it has been a good experience. The staff is very knowledgeable, happy and always willing to help. Sometimes I just go in to see the animals but no matter what you need, food/grooming/toys/treats they have it or are willing to get it for you. Just a wonderful option to the box stores, SUPPORT LOCAL!! Thanks Mayo's Pets for your service to our community! read more

Very friendly staff and many items. I'm giving 2 stars because the guinea pigs had no hay and no hiding space. Hermit crab tank had dead crabs in it laying among live ones, and fish tanks were overcrowded and extremely dirty. read more

We bought fish tank accessories and fish from this place. They know the stuff very well and happy to share that knowledge to the customers willingly. This is a kids friendly place and I would recommend this store. read more

Our favorite pet store! We've bought fish there and lots of stuff for our dogs. They are very friendly and knowledgable. On a slow day when looking for something to do, the kids love stopping in to see the funny birds, and all the hamsters, rabbits, turtles, etc. Why go anywhere else? read more

I will never go anywhere else. It's a small store so the variety and offerings are limited so I would just call before if you are looking for something specific. read more

Do yourself a favor and stay away from the big pet chains. We discovered MAYO'S PETS & MOREi in Northboro, Ma. Purchased 2 female Guinea pigs and could not be happier. Upon walking in to the store there was absolutely no smell at all. The store was immaculate as were the shelves and cages. First impression was extremely good. Wandered over to the Guinea pigs and was just as impressed. Lots of fresh clean shavings, hay, water, food and little hiding spots. You could tell they were very well cared for and handled a lot. They are both super friendly. Prices of food, etc was very good and a great brand to boot. So very happy with the store!!! Will be back for all supplies. read more

I have been buying my dog food at Mayos for more than 15 years. I would not think of going anywhere else despite many large box pet stores in the area. The owners are a great couple that run a great local store. They know you by name and can order food specially for you. My bag of dog food is always waiting by the door. I might pay a dollar more for a huge bag of food but would rather it go to my neighbors than to a huge company. read more

Great local place, convenient - one of the few places we could find that sells Merricks and Wellness products. Owners are friendly and the place is clean and offers the essentials. We stopped ordering dog food online and now buy from / support this local business. read more

Mayo's is the best! Pam and the others are so knowledgeable and caring, and are always willing to help with questions. I've purchased several healthy hand-raised birds there, and stop there for all the supplies and the bird grooming. The animals are obviously well cared for, and they always have everything I need. A great local pet shop! read more
