The new manager is excellent at her job, if they dont stock it then she does her best to get it in for you and will even give you a call to let you know its in store. I will most deffinate be shopping here again and will be telling my family and friends to go back to shopping at this store. keep up the good work.

Unit 6B Forster Square Retail Park…read more 5 Valley Road Bradford BD1 4AG 01274 722969 This is a huge store with everything you could possible need for your pets all in one store. They do healthcare/toiletries/food/bedding and accessories for cats/dogs/hamsters/gerbils/rabbits and fish and any other pet you can think of. They also sell pets there, which are kept in appropriate cages, tanks, etc for you to view before you buy. The prices arent as cheap as supermarkets or bargain shops but the quality is the best and you get what you pay for. The staff are very friendly and polite and are always on hand to offer advice to you. The store is very clean and tidy and kept well stocked at all times.

They stock a large selection of cat, dog and small animal pet food as well as accessories such as collars, leads, cages, tanks and treats. If you are a herpologist (ie: you prefer your pets more slithery) then you are out of luck, but for most people they should be able to find what they are looking for at their local pets at home. The animals look quite well looked after, although some of the water bottles the rabbits were using were green with algea, but otherwise they were well kept.
One of the worst shops for buying animals and so called knowledge. There's been two occasions I've…read morehad to butt in a correct staff from sharing false information to a naive customer. One staff member though it was ok to sell 3 gold fish and a 5 gallon fish tank, goldfish grow big and a tank that size is plain cruelty and abuse for one, let alone 3! The staff member scowled at me because I interrupted her sale. Reported her to her manager and nothing was done as they are still pushing too small of tanks with goldfish onto customers. Another occasion when they started selling reptiles, yet didn't sell thermostats! I asked why to get "they don't need them" excuse me?! Any serious keeper would 100% tell you otherwise. Heat mats can and will severely overheat and cook your reptile and kill it. After a while they stopped selling reptiles (wonder why that is?!) They are ok for food and supplies, but when it comes to animals then stay well alone as it's not just the bad advice, it's also quality of the animals as they buy animals in large bulk which increases the chance of unwell individuals. I had a crested gecko from them once and died within 24 hours even though ones I have from good quality breeders are thriving wonderfully!

Tailwaggers is a very cute pet store. They sell all the usual things that you would want from a pet store, various animal feeds, flea treatments, specialist pet items and so on. They also do a range of dog and cat baskets, cushions and toys - and loads of really cutesy items that in a lot of ways pleases us more than the animals themselves! The door way also has a number of advertisments, almost like a community board, with all kinds of useful information and numbers. I think when I finally can afford to have my own pet cat I will almost certainly be visiting here to set myself up for pet ownership! Certainly the staff are friendly and helpful enough to answer any queries you might have if you too are thinking of getting an animal of your own.

Merlot and I quite often come in as a treat (for him, i'm not too bothered about chewy sticks and squeaky toys). He walks around having a good old sniff of every chewy and knuckle bone and picks out what he shall be having a chomp on later in the day. he also likes to have a deep sniff of the hamster bedding for some reason, but that is by the by. Angela runs the shop and has quite a dry sense of humour, but so clearly loves all animals and always has a cuddle with Moo. Her blind Irish setter is always about somewhere too and is a real sweetie! As an aside, If anyone is wanting puppy/dog training lessons...Angela is the person to talk to as she does evening classes in Headingley, Alwoodley, Otley, Harrogate and at the dogs trust (I've just looked that up, I didn't know it!)
