2 Cemetery Road, Bradford…read more BD8 9RY 01274 541528 This is a very old shop that has been here for years. It is huge inside but very cluttered with all the stock so is quite hard to manouvre. On the first floor you will find all your pet supplies from the usual medications/shampoos to toys and food for dogs/cats/rabbits, etc. They have a few cages tooked round a corner with rabbits/birds/cats,etc for sale and i love looking at them - they are so cute. The kids love coming in just to see the pets. Downstairs they have stuff for like aquariums and reptiles and there used to be a big fishpond in the middle with goldfish but i think it was taken out. They do sometimes have snakes for sale but ive not seem them often. Going downstairs is quite a hassle as the steps are quite steep and it is quite dark and has a wet and eerie feel down there. The garden supplies are upstairs and there are various plants, etc and wooden structures placed outside. The prices arent the cheapest but it is a family firm so they cant place things too cheap. The staff are lovely and friendly. Also they do funeral flowers and wreaths which they will deliver to the funeral parlour or church for you or you can pick up yourself - they have a huge selection. They also offer graveside tributes which they will carve for you too.

Outside they sell some flowers and plants for your garden but they do some more inside. They also have some dog kennels, rabbit hutches and other wooden structures outside for you to buy. Inside they have lots of choice for your cats, dogs, rabbits, reptiles and other rodents. You can also buy yourself a new pet while you are shopping. They also do reptile and fish products downstairs but be careful not to trip on the steps as they are slippy and steep. They sell garden mowers, etc which are pretty steep in price, infact most goods are dear but they are conveniently located. The staff are lovely and friendly and very helpful. They do delivery services and also you can order funeral flowers and wreaths from them.

Unfortunately my voyeuristic interest in pets of the slimy and scaly variety is all too often spoilt by a shop that keeps its animals in cramped or unhygienic conditions (yes, I know it's not a zoo, but still...). Happily, I encountered no such problems at Tyrannosaurus Pets, an 'exotic' pet store that stocks lizards, snake and amphibians. Quite aside from having one of the best pet shop names ever, this shop is a credit to its trade with a shiny, modern shop floor; helpful, knowledgeable staff and - most importantly - spacious, clean vivariums filled with content animals. When I visited I was quite open about the fact I'd just come for a gawp, but the staff treated me as if I was a paying customer, and told me lots of stuff about the logistics of keeping lizards and snakes that I'd never heard before, despite pet shop loitering being something of a habit of mine. If you're thinking of buying an unusual pet or already own one and need to stock up on accessories, this is the only place you should need to go in Leeds.

As well as selling various snakes (corns, pythons, Boa's etc), you'll find beardies, geckos and even some DWA (their cobra's and rattlers are intimidating but beautiful). They also have a wide range of accessories ranging from complete viv setups, to smaller tanks, and heating and lighting setups, hides, vitamin suplements etc. You'll also find plenty of live and frozen food available, as well as a holiday sitting service for your pet whilst you are away. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable.

We found Predators in Shipley and were very pleased with the advise and guidence they gave. They helped us pick the right snake to start with (3 year old Royal Python) and before we committed to purchasing, were very happy to let my daughter(s) and me handle the snake and visit a couple times to ask more questions and make the right decision for us. What can I say, it's the best thing we ever did. My three daughters love the snake (now called Coconut, or Coco for short) and they just can't get enough. Predators advise was spot on and we keep going back for supplies and more information. We may even get a second snake like a 8ft Boa but... we'll see when the time comes and when my lovely wife stops closing me down every time I ask the question :) Predators has everything you need to for Exotic Pets. From the expert advise to all the products, accessories and food. The Pet Cros are great. It's a must to see them and you can have a look on their Web Site at http://www.predatorsexoticpets.co.uk

They also do a small stock of garden furniture which is also a good bargain. The range of live animals to buy differs from what they have in store one week to next - they usually have the odd cute kitten, puppy, rat, mouse or hamster or guinnea pig to buy with a few rarities like tortoise, snake and tarantula thrown in now and then. The best aspect of the store is their resident old parrot or cockatiel whatever it is - it has been there forever and has its own cage in the shop from which it is allowed to roam freely - watch out above cos he does like to drop the odd message onto you. He is also very verbal and looks quite shabby but that is to be expected from such an old bird. The store is on a corner of bradford on the very buys junction but it is easy to get to. There is no disabled access and the store is rather small to manouvre in. The staff are quite polite but can be a bit tetchy - i suppose it goes by how much they have sold that day. A very good useful store where you can find anything and everything for your pet all at a reasonable price.

It is a traditional pet shop, although it might not stock as wide a range as other larger stores, it makes up for it by the friendly staff who are only too happy to give you advice and help should you need it. Look out for Squawky who is a large fancy parrot but mostly bald as he pulled all his feathers out from stress with his previous owners - he has the run of the shop and is very talkative! The last time we saw him he was trying to get in with the puppies! A nice, traditional pet store.

I was told on that day (Thursday 17th) it wouldn't be shipped till after the weekend as was due frost, which was fair enough. On the Monday 21st I emailed asking if they could hold off posting as I would be unexpectedly working away until the Friday, no reply. Thankfully the job was done by Thursday 24th so was home and took delivery of the Emperor that day (despite them being aware there would be no one home they sent out the fish anyway) however this did not matter as the fish arrived dead. Rang up to inform and was told a replacement would be sent out, at that point I did say I would like a similar sized Angel as had been looking for a large specimen for a while. I was told they hand pick the fish and not to worry, so I agreed on the replacement. 13 days went by without any sort of update from Marine World. I reached out and contacted for some kind of update to be told the replacement would be shipped that day (Wednesday 6th) the following day I received the Angel which was almost half the size of the original Angel, despite me asking for a similar sized angel and being told not to worry I received and Angel roughly 4" (previous was 6/7") I contacted and expressed my disappointed. I was told I could post it back and a larger specimen would be sent back, however this isn't like posting back a DVD you can throw in an Jiffy via Hermes. The fish was now in a 850L aquarium filled with Live Rock, catching would be a nightmare and I do not have heat bags etc to safely post back. I had no reply after expressing this so presume it's like it or lump it. I paid £160 for a 6/7" Emperor, after 3 weeks I received a 4" Emperor. Feel overcharged and cheated. I will not be buying from them again or recommend them to anyone.
