When you have any animals how can you not love pet stores. You always want to please your animals…read moreby bringing them toys and treats that are healthy so you look for different pet stores and get them something special. When I'm not so happy with is the staff. Appears that the staff runs hot and cold some people are into their job and very informative others don't know anything about anything and don't even know the right direction to point you in. They're the ones that know nothing I find it quite discouraging and it lessens my desire to go into this store. As the prices are not cheap, I would like to know more about what I am purchasing and like a reputable sales person to tell me what they have available. Unfortunately this is not always available or the case in this particular store. What's a girl to do? Love your animals and get them whatever you can but don't settle on mediocrity, ever.

The office texted earlier that day asking if she could come at 2:00pm instead. She said she would try. Unfortunately, rain and traffic delayed her, and she arrived at 2:10pm. The waiting room was empty and exam room doors were open, but she was told they could not see our dog because she was "late" for the earlier requested time and their schedule was completely full. They offered to reschedule for the next day. As a worried pet parent, that was incredibly frustrating and upsetting. She immediately called Banfield Pet Hospital (PetSmart). Even though they were fully booked, the receptionist kindly checked with the medical team. Within 30 seconds, he told my wife to bring our dog in. They were clearly very busy when she arrived, but you would never know it from the way she was treated. The entire team -- from the front desk to the vet tech to Dr. Gupta -- showed such kindness, compassion, and professionalism. They took their time, answered her questions, and never made her feel rushed or like she was a burden. As upsetting as her experience was at Vetco, we're incredibly thankful it led us to Banfield Animal Hospital of South Tampa. They earned a new client that day. Thank you PetSmart. Shame on PetCo!

Unfortunate that I can't give 0 stars. We have been clients for nearly 7 years since my dog was a…read morepuppy. From 3/3/26 to 3/7/26 my dog stayed at the hotel at Royal Pets Market and Resort Carrollwood. He has IVDD. A disc disease in his back that he has had surgery on in the past following temporary paralysis caused from his disease. He is on permanent restrictions to prevent recurring paralysis. His care includes monthly injections, therapy, and daily medication. The medication helps reduce anxiety from not being home and excitement from other dogs. This anxiety and excitement causes him to behave in a way that could physically injure him. His medication also helps him with pain and reducing inflammation. I requested a "condo" style room spaced far from other boarded pets as I always do when he stays here. I also requested to add on "private play" because he is not allowed around other dogs due to the aforementioned reasons, therefore is restricted from normal daycare. However he still needs enrichment and human interaction (as any animal would) so that is why we specifically request this service. I left him in the care of this facility as I always do. They have always accomodated these special requests and care without issue. When I came back home after picking him up, I was horrified by what I saw. I brought in brand new prescriptions with my dog when I dropped him off. When I looked at his medications, every single pill was still accounted for in the bottles. That means that over the span of 5 days and 4 nights they never once gave my dog his medication. This is a serious health problem and it's negligence. In addition to this, my invoice stated that he had been staying in a "royal chamber" style room. I have never once asked for this type of room. It's the most expensive room because it has a TV in it and it also has its own access to outdoors. I believe they put him in this room so they didn't have to take him out themselves. There was no "private play" listed on the invoice. So they never took him. He had no human interaction the entire time he was there. He was left to go in and out himself. No walking, no playing, no nothing. Pure laziness and neglect. I have tried numerous times to contact them and they refuse to call me back. The employees keep telling me "the manager isn't here", "I don't know when they will be coming in", and "The owner is dealing with issues with her elderly mother." No excuse. Your family is important, well so is mine. I reported it to the BBB and they did not respond to them either. It has now been more than a month since this happened. They clearly don't care. And now this is resulting in a poor Yelp review after numerous attempts to resolve this privately. Please do not bring your pets here if they need medication daily for a condition that's life or death. I'm thankful my dog's life didn't depend on it, but if it did, he would be dead right now. Don't leave your babies lives in the hands of these people. You may never be able to bring them home again if so.

I keep walking hoping to find what I'm looking for. Then there's a young lady in the middle of the store sweeping but playing with a bug/creature she obviously found. So I stop and ask "Do yall have bird feeders?" She says excuse me. I repeat my self and she says I don't know. I stopped because Im like okay maybe she's volunteering or a staff's daughter or something. Then I ask you work here? She says yea but Im new. So Im standing there because Im thinking we'll now is the time for you to shine and help a CUSTOMER. She looks at me like Im an alien granted I was in military uniform, but I have all my body parts so not sure why the stare. I then say "well are you not going to ask someone?" AGAIN weird stare. She speaks English so language was not a barrier. She says well there's someone up there you can ask. Im like wow! Great customer service! Walk a little further knowing there's only fish to the back but then realized my money and time can go elsewhere. Very disappointed.
