I've been a loyal PetSmart grooming customer for years and pay monthly for a package, yet the last two bookings have gone wrong. Because your site/app won't let me book, I've had to call in -- and both times the associate booked the wrong service code. My dogs needed a full haircut in June and again in July, but was only booked for a wash, which keeps pushing their actual haircut further out. The app is no better: when I log in, it asks me to "add pets" as if I'm brand new. After years of monthly payments, my pets, service history, and package details should already be on file. Two clear problems: 1. The online/app booking flow is broken for existing loyalty customers -- I shouldn't have to re-enter my pets every time. 2. Phone associates are not equipped to book grooming correctly and are selecting the wrong service codes. Please fix the app so long-term customers can self-serve, and retrain phone staff on grooming service codes. I'd also like my dog's next haircut prioritized to make up for the two missed ones. read more

never going back. I desperately needed a bath for my dog Piper before the holidays. i bathe him myself at tractor supply for $10. I was told by a staff member that they had a dog self wash $20. then when I called the next day, I was told they don't have but they had people available to, to bathe my dog, why wouldn't the staff member know if they did/didnt have one. overall bad experience. my dog looked better before he came in dirty. he just needed a bath and not a haircut, they said they would tighten it up. when I dropped him off, I asked if I could look in the room or he was being groomed, they didnt let me come inspect it and i noticed dog hair everywhere. when i returned to pick up my boy they brought him to me with 2 girl red bows in a strawberry bandanna i said he is a boy and take this out now. they were knotted in his ears. how does A person that spent 2 hrs on my dog not know the difference between a boy and a girl? top of his hair was a mess and sticking up. never got all his knots out, put some sticky product in his hair and I had to go home and brush it out and take all his knots out so his coat would be soft. hacked his feet and ears. they charged me $50 for a bath and a little tightening up. I go to Wolfgang in Dunedin and they charge me $60 for a full groom. also when he was returned to me there was another dogs white hair all over my black leash and his feet. this confirms what I saw that this place is not clean back there and they're not cleaning up after the dog that they grooms right away and there's dog hair all over the floor. would not recommend. read more

This is my local store, and it's pretty decent: spacious, friendly staff, and regular sales and clearance specials. Since we got our puppy, we've spent a lot of time at this location, whether just buying supplies, toys, or treats, or attending training classes or dog/puppy playtimes. In that time, I've never had a huffy cashier or felt that anyone was less than helpful, the opposite of which is sadly a regular occurrence these days in a lot of retail stores. The staff seems genuinely happy here. We've taken the beginner and intermediate dog training classes and are on advanced currently. They've been helpful in giving us tips on how to do loose leash walking and other obedience training. However, the class sizes can vary, so sometimes you're with two other dogs; sometimes six. It just depends on who signs up. Something that has been invaluable in training our puppy has been having more distractions (more dogs and owners) in the classes. Things can get hectic, but the controlled teaching environment helps to balance out the chaos. Classes are six weeks long (one day per week) and $120 each. They run promos and can bundle the pricing if you plan on taking all the classes, so ASK! We saved a lot of money by buying the bundle. Playtime has been an absolute necessity. Every Saturday, there are two playtimes: one for puppies (11am), one for larger dogs (12pm). These sessions provide enrichment for dogs in, again, a controlled environment, where you know all in attendance have had their shots and won't pass on any viruses and the like. It's fun to see our puppy play with other dogs, and it's essential for her development/temperament to be exposed to them and other people. Each playtime is $10, which is nothing when I consider how pertinent it has been for my puppy's happiness (and energy level). Make sure you sign up for their Treats rewards program. They have 2x, and even 3x, points events throughout the year that earn you $$$ off purchases. There's an app to keep track of them as well! Anything for the fur babies, right? read more

Have been taking my dog to PetSmart for grooming in Tallahassee for over a year now and love it. Home visiting family now so took my dog to this location. Was charged the $10 fee for his hair (assuming due to matting, which I did not complain or even mention because I noticed he had a mat in his right ear, hence why I took him here rather than waiting until I was back in Tallahassee). We get home and I realize the mat was entirely left in place. Not only that, but his ears had been fluffed more from the blowdryer and it had made the mat even larger, hidden under the hair. I would put 0 stars if I could. I took my dog to Petsmart for a nail trim. The groomer asked if I wanted his ears cleaned and I agreed, After bringing him home he started shaking his head a lot and ended up getting an ear infection. I called the store and they arranged a visit to Banfield to check the ear. They paid for the office visit but I was out $100 because he ended up with a ear infection that was caused by the cleaning. They tried to imply that the dog already had the ear infection and if he did I would not have allowed them to clean the ears, I should of told them not to clean the ears but I thought it would be okay to do it. Don't let them clean your dogs ears. His ears were fine until I brought him in there. They should have paid the vet bill as his ears were fine until the cleaning. Don't let them clean your dogs ears. I paid $80 just for them to leave my dog looking A four-year-old try to cut their own hair; all patchy with different lengths of fur. Not only that but we also paid for nail trimming/grinding that was not done in the slightest (I had to do it when I got home). I understand Pomeranians can be quite difficult to groom and in the past we've had some stylists tell us that they do not feel confident in grooming our dog which I very much appreciate it when this happens. I'd rather you not groom my dog if you aren't comfortable in what your doing. So all I have to say is if you have a double coated dog or a small dog stay away. read more

if i could rate it a zero i would, worst experience. the manager was very rude and was accusing me of coming in with another person whom i didn't even know, denying my request to purchase a fancy mouse despite said person leaving the store. This person was my age, and she had to ask the manager Megan to get crickets as she was one of two employees i saw the entire 20 minutes i endured. So i guess bra cause we had walked in at the same time and exchanged words at to where the worker i could ask to help me was, the other girl (customer) asked for her assistance in helping with her own separate purchase of crickets. When i asked for help directly after in the small animal section she began to go on about policy etc etc. I find it very infuriating for a company i purchase products from bi weekly to treat its customers with such disrespect. If I could write stars I would. This place did an awful job at grooming my golden doodle. I typically go to the location closest to me but it was booked out a few weeks so I tried to give this location a try. NEVER AGAIN. I paid for my dog to get a cut, wash, and nails GRINDED. It normally takes my groomer 2/3 hours so I should've known something was up when I got a call before I got home that he was ready. He was completely shaved which I did not want But sometimes I know is necessary, especially when its a lazy groomer who doesn't want to take the time to brush him out. Anyways I paid- got him in my car- he jumped on the passenger seat and I look down- BLOOD. All over my tan seats. His left Paw is covered. I immediately brought Him in. Blood is all over the pet smart floors. They said "oh sorry that happens we just cut a nail to short." 1. Why was I not made aware when I picked him up that he was previously bleeding from a mistake you made 2. Why did you cut his nails when I paid extra to have them GRINDED. They put this powder on it and the bleeding eventually stopped. I talked to a manager and received no credit, no refund, NO APOLOGY just "it happens".Also after further looking at my dog when I got home the groomer cut him in multiple places. My business partner and his wife have two dogs (a female Pomeranian and a female Black Lab) and we joke that the Lab is the Boss of our little consulting firm since she likes to sprawl out in our office when Bill and I are both working. I try to stop at the local pet food store and pick up some chew treats for the girls when I'm planning a full day at the office. My preferred local pet store is the PetSmart in Citrus Park, in the same strip mall as Staples, Bed Bath, and Best Buy. It's directly across the street from the Citrus Park Mall which makes it super convenient when I'm on my way over to his house. I used to frequent this store a lot when I had a cat, but nowadays I'm content to stop in once and a while for dog treats. I like the fact that PetSmart makes the effort to stock "healthy" treats which are good for your pets, and that the staff goes out of their way to stop and ask if you need help finding anything. During today's visit I had two different clerks walk over to help me find the right type of dog chew bones, and one spent the time to ask what type of toys the dogs liked, what kind of food they ate, how often they went out for walks, etc. Very pleased with the selection of products and the friendliness of the staff at this PetSmart. This was my first visit to this facility, and I was told to have my kitten there by 8am for a "quick visit". When I was dropping my cat off, I was told that she likely wouldn't been seen until noon. I just called this facility at 1:30 to see if there had been any progress and now I'm being told I won't be able to pick up my kitten until 5pm. I understand I'm Not the only pet owner in Tampa, but I find this completely unacceptable and unprofessional. This is supposed to be a professional establishment, however they aren't even able to provide professional / accurate timeline. I feel it's establishments like these that have all pets "fearing the vet". If my pet wasn't going to be seen until 3pm, I wouldn't have brought her there until 3pm. I come to this location a lot for my furbabies. My babies have always gone to Banfield and it's mainly for convenience. The staff and veterinarians are very friendly and they seem like they genuinely care, but I will say I hate the often long wait times when all I want to do is drop my kids off in the morning and get to work. They often seem understaffed but they do the best they can under those circumstances I guess. I also use their grooming salon and I am a little concerned about how gentle they are with my senior dogs when I'm not there. I just try to assume they treat them with the utmost care even though it's scary leaving them. They do a good job grooming my dogs and I take them about every 3 months. I was late to my appointment today and called to let them know and they were understanding and still let me keep my appointment and I appreciated that. Overall I'd say my satisfaction with this petsmart location is above average. It's convenient and I'd recommend them to other furparents. read more

I've been taking my dog here for several months for baths and nail trims. The first few appointments were great, no issues. However, the last two have left something to be desired. Last time, the groomer who checked us in was unprofessional (dismissive of my concerns, critiquing my handling of my dog, calling my dog a spoiled brat, etc). A different groomer was taking care of my dog so I felt comfortable leaving her. Today I dropped my dog off for a routine bath and nail trim. What should have been a 90 minute appointment was nearly three hours. When I picked her up, her nails had not been trimmed and the groomer insisted that my dog's quicks were "just that long". I had to insist that she trim the nails, which she then did in front of me without argument. Upon arriving home I realized that my dog was also covered in a very flaky white residue (not dander), like the shampoo/conditioner had not been fully rinsed out. I am very disappointed and will not be bringing my dog here in the future. read more

Someone just wrote a review only 2 hours ago stating their dog's paw was dripping blood, and it makes sense. I brought my dog in for a nail grinding (my dog is okay), but as I'm standing at the counter, the tall Caucasian male with the ponytail in the back was grooming a small dog and just dragging a brush through the tangles on the dog's fur as it whimpered and whined, trying to get away from him. The groomer was not holding the hair at the base before the tangle or doing anything to help relieve the tension. The guy had long hair himself, so grooming school or not, who takes a brush and pulls it continuously through tangles? Obviously, the options are to cut the tangles out or leave them be as to not subject the dog to such pain. My face was contorted with a look of disgust as the other 3 or 4 groomers didn't say a word. I was hoping I could catch the owner and let the individual know before I left, and I probably should've made a comment to the groomer upon leaving with my dog, so this review is the best I got. I won't be back but hopefully, neither will that owner or anyone else until some proper training and etiquette are implemented. read more

Earlier this month, 9/8 I believe, I went to the Citrus Park PetSmart to take advantage of a discount the company was offering and it was the only one of the local stores that had both of the items I needed. I had not been in that store in some time and was a pit apprehensive....well, that feeling did not last long. I was immediately greeted by Aurora who was at the register closing out another customer. As soon as she finished, she asked me if there was anything I needed help with. I showed her my $10/$50 coupon and asked if there were any restrictions I needed to know about other than the obvious. She was very clear about policies, always had a smile on her face, pointed me to where I needed to go, and said she would be there in the front of the store if I needed any additional help. Having a concussion, I truly appreciated all of her help. I went back, got my items, and brought them to the register. She bagged them up, asking if I needed it any particular way because of my needs. Again....always with a smile and friendly voice. Another customer came in, she greeted the woman, and finished up with me. Business was extremely slow at the time, she appeared to be the only one on the floor, and she made it apparent that she knew what she was doing and could handle it, that she would call for help if she needed it rather than being less than the perfect way she treated her customers. Petsmart is great.... but I must have come on a bad day. Again. The only person here who was even remotely interested in helping me out didn't even work for them- she was one of those outside vendors endorsing pet food. The employees themselves? They got better things to do I guess. As for the place, it's got more of a "warehouse" feel than other locations. Not as user-friendly or comfortable. They just kind of plopped the training area in the middle of the store and gated it, versus other locations which have separate rooms. I like that they hold adoption events and the selection is fine, not to mention I got a great collar on sale (the last size large in pink! Had to steal it the moment someone else put it back)... but I must say that my regular New Tampa location is just outstanding in comparison. read more

This Pet Smart is located on Gunn Hwy, directly across from Citrus Park Mall. It's in the strip mall with Bed, Bath and Beyond, Best Buy, Ross and Dicks Sporting Goods. I come here often to buy food for my 3 cats. The store is pretty large and employees always come over to see if you have any questions. They have offered advise without being pushy. I just learned that hairball food has higher fiber and my long hair Maine coon sometimes suffers from them. Who knew? So if you have questions, the staff here are knowledgeable and helpful. They also have pet adoptions and training as well as all the pet supplies you could want. read more

We have been a Petsmart customer, long before they had an app and doing business online. In those days customer service was the key and they did a fantastic job of CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Today was a wake up call for us to never use them again. An appointment had been made by phone to have our dog groomed. When we arrived, Rachel with pink hair had one thing in mind, to let us know everything they could not do. Guess that covers the corporate policies for sure. We are finding a new groomer for our dogs. The past two times we have taken our dog to be groomed have not been good. But today was the worst. The stylist, Lorie, cut our dog's hair all uneven. One ear was a good inch or maybe inch and a half longer than the other. One side of the face was longer than the other. Pretty much all around the face was choppy. And around the legs and belly the hair was choppy and longer in some places. I called and asked if they could fix it so we brought her back in and she still did not even seem to notice that her ears were uneven. Kept telling her to go shorter on the one ear but she couldn't get it right. It was noticeably longer still when we left. The manager explained that they had to remove a knot from the one ear so that's why it's shorter. Ok, fine...but at least make the other ear match. I should not have to fix my dog's haircut after paying $47. The stylist was rude and unprofessional and it felt and smelled like she was hungover or had been drinking. When we brought our dog for the cut to be fixed, she acted like she didn't even want to try. So we are off to find a better groomer now. read more

I had some great customer centered service yesterday. The manager without question let me return a flea collar that I had opened and simply did not like. There was nothing wrong with the product and He took it back, and on top of that, gave me the different higher priced item I was going to buy in its place, for the same lower price of the flea collar. We have put one of our dogs into the salon every few months. He is a mixed Border Collie and, after a few months, drops long strings of hair all over the place. They do a great job with him and have been very careful when they cut his hair. We have them do a bath and a toe nail cut as well. They seem to be better at getting the toe nails down in size than we are. They will call you when your pet is ready to be picked up. We've been going to them for about 4 years now. read more
