We have been bringing both of our little dogs to Pet Partners since we moved to Long Beach in January 2024 for grooming. I guess I have been lucky with parking the times I have driven but it's just a few blocks from our house we usually just walk so they get their walks in too. Alberto recommended some dry dog food that he said was healthier than processed stuff. I actually just thought it was a sales pitch but I bought it anyway just out of gratitude that we found someone to groom for us because one of our dogs is a rescue poodle with some security issues. He always got "mud butt" and would not let us go anywhere near his butt to clean it or cut the hair. He was like two different dogs because he would viciously and relentlessly defend his butt. Well the dog food fixed the problem by firming up his stools so they would not stick to his fur. We are moving but I will probably make the drive because we have always had good experiences and the poodle does not seem to get too anxious when we bring him there like he did with other groomers. read more

These monsters butchered our cat when we brought her in for a simple grooming. They cut off a solid 1x2 inch patch of skin off her side. We had to make an emergency vet visit for almost $1000 and it is still unclear whether she will need surgery. If I could, I would see this groomer in prison for what is obvious animal cruelty. Do not under any circumstances take your animals to this place. When I looked through prior reviews, I see that this is not an isolated incident. Another user reported their dog being cut so deeply that there was exposed bone. These people should not be allowed to operate as a business. read more

Do not take your dog there!!! I took my dog to get groomed about 2 weeks ago there, and they hurt her! She returned with a hole in her leg and the groomer said that it was because she had a knott but that doesn't mean you have to cut the skin or make a hole! The owner was very rude to both me and my girlfriend when we walked inside. He asked us what kind of food we fed our cat and then told us that we were giving our cat junk food every day. We tried to tell him our cat is picky and won't eat anything else and he blamed us saying, "don't try to say your cat is picky, you are making him picky." Our cat doesn't even like to eat treats, real fish or meat, or any other food. We asked our vet about the food we give him and the vet said it was good and that he was healthy. Don't go here. absolutley amazing, highly reliable. took my dog chapo for a haircut and he came out so cute. the flea bath they gave him was amazing and he came out smelling so good. he even came out with a cute little bandana around his neck I loved it. Chapo even ended up getting in a tussle with another one of my dogs and got his eye scratched and they were so great at providing this ointment that really helped with the swelling. the guy in charge of the store is so nice and loves dogs he calls them babies. highly would recommend this place to dog lovers read more

I had been wanting to switch up my place for grooming for a while so I decided to give this place a try. I wasn't picky, I asked for a simple trim around his ears, just a clean up. When I got back they had cut his entire body and his ear hair is non existent. His nails are bloody, he no longer has a cav cut and he looks about 10 pounds heavier because of the way they cut his body hair, which again, I very specially did NOT want cut. A few years ago, I had to put my dog down for an incurable illness she had. I took my dog, Ruthie, to the pet clinic next to his establishment but I did not have the money to cover the cost. He lent me the money, which I paid back and he never questioned me when he lent me the money. Albert, once again, I thank you so much. I'm so frustrated by their lack of COVID safety. I have been going to Pet Partners for over a year for pet food and supplies. I've been grateful for the owner's expertise and care for our pup. They have a lot of great products and are very convenient for us. I've been wanting to continue to support them during the pandemic but have been so appalled by their lack of COVID care. The owner and other employee never wear a mask. They have customers packed in there with no masks. They don't enforce social distancing. Today I finally asked the owner to put on a mask and he did so but was obviously annoyed by the request. I'm so disappointed by his lack of care for the community and his customers. I will definitely not be going back, at least not until the pandemic is over. Tl;dr - don't go here if you are concerned about COVID for yourself or your loved ones. read more

I had every intention of shopping at this location. I love supporting small businesses. They even carry my dog's food (The Honest Kitchen)! I took my dog to the vet next door and went inside, planning to make a purchase. The man behind the counter greeted me and asked why I'd taken my dog to the vet, and that's where things went downhill. As background, my dog doesn't usually have a flea problem, but after moving to Long Beach several months ago I realized something was wrong. Her regular medicine didn't work. I have tried a multitude of over-the-counter flea treatments, but one by one they've all failed to make even the slightest impact. She has been biting herself bloody, and she's obviously been miserable. I had lamented the situation to my neighbor, who recommended the vet next door and Simparica as a flea treatment. As soon as he heard I'd taken m dog for fleas, he started ranting about how I didn't love my dog if I'd give her an oral treatment and "it's going to destroy her liver" and I was "going to kill her" and I "would never take it myself." Even after I told him I'd tried EVERY FLEA PRODUCT he had in-stock, he railed on about how it must be in my HOME and that I needed to treat the carpets. (I do not have carpeting.) I explained that the fleas are living in the public grasses outdoors and that I have no way of treating the entire outdoors. He reiterated that I didn't care about the health of my pet if I would give her a "harsh" oral product. What a completely unprofessional, rude person!! I did not buy anything that day and will never spend a dime there. I will also warn anyone I come across about this bad behavior, because far from "not loving" my dog, I love her way too much to let her suffer because some jerk decided to go on a self-righteous rant about why I should spend more money on failed treatments at his shop! And, by the way, the Simparica is gentler than the Frontline or Advantage topicals he offered. I know this because my dog experienced lethargy for 1-2 days after application of those topicals, but the Simparica gave her no such side effects. Additionally, less than a week after her first monthly dose of Simparica, my dog can finally sleep through the night and has stopped biting and scratching incessantly. She is calm and flea-free again--and that never would have happened if I'd listened to this jerk. read more

The man at this establishment will over charge. He sneaks it in and thinks you don't notice. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and he did it several times. The last time he overcharged me by $10. When you call him out he charges the topic. A lot fo the reviews I read are accurate. He is knowledgeable and this is why people give him good reviews. But he gives you information with the intention of selling you more things. He scolds you and judges you when you tell him you took your pet to the Vet next door. He uses this information to justify overcharging. He also justifies over charging when he provides information. I really wanna support small business but I work too hard for my money to be taken advantage of like this. Bad customer service, like the worst, they try to over sell everything and now this over charge. Once I get my money refunded. I will not return to this store! I would never bring my pet here to be groomed! I can't believe people actually leave their pets with these people, are you crazy?! Also, if you have a cat, THEY DON'T NEED TO BE GROOMED! The owner(man that is always in the front) he said "ok, let's see what I did," then he proceeded to make excuses and blame me. You didn't catch the mistake when you kept the debit card receipt and only gave me the receipt from the register, showing the actual amount I should have paid? He blew me off, gave some bullshit excuses and then said I should have caught the amount myself when I was inputting my debit pin. There are so many unusual products I've never seen before. The owner has helped me throughout the years by showing me products that were helpful for things like allergies, skin issues and CBD products. He's so knowledgeable about everything on the market. My long haired GSD is traumatized.....I took her in to be groomed, yes she needed grooming! When I got her home she was not herself, she would hardly let me pet her. ( she is sweet and very much likes to be pet). I pet her neck and she cried out, very unusual. She was having difficulty with her motor skills, I got her to lie down on her bed where she slept for hours. Today, 3 days later we found hundreds of scabs all over her body. I pulled one off making sure it was not any kind of bug, It was a scab. These scabs are in areas where her long fur is. There are no scabs on her belly where there is very little fur. It looks like she was either cut or brushed too hard! I am so very angry, I'm bringing her to the Vet in the morning to check her out, and to ask about how I can report this abuse and if groomers need a license. My poor, very sweet dog has bed injured terribly and I will never step foot in Pet Partners again. We have tried this place multiple times. He would always leave my dog's paws rough and jagged. Today we decided to give them another chance with our new kitten. He cut all of the front nails so close that he cut the quick on every single nail on BOTH of his front paws. It was our little guy's first time getting his nails clipped and I am heartbroken. This was the last straw for me. I will not be returning. He gives you a lecture all about the kind of food you're giving your animals as if he cares when in reality, he carelessly cuts their nails and just wants to sell his own products. I live locally and only go here when I need dry dog food and use it as opportunity to walk my little baby. Otherwise I go to Per Food Express or Centinela Feed. I can attest to the owner attempting to guilt you into buying treats and other products. Fortunately I'm always able to respond with that my baby already has everything- which he does. I want to both thank and extend my deepest apologies to the pet owners who entrusted the grooming process. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma. Your reviews have saved many a fur baby and guardian the same torture. Another thanks to those who warned about expired treats- gotta go check the dog food I just bought. One of my first times here he attempted to tell me not to buy freeze dried/ frozen food because of this and that but I responded with what I already knew and he looked at me with a look of surprise and said nothing else. I have been coming to this old guy for a while now, I have never had this issue I have never seen any issues or have had any problems. I travel and go everywhere every day so I leave my baby to my mom to take care of I was in town and decided to take my baby to we're I usually take her. Witch is here "Pet Partners" on 7th and Broadway in Long Beach CA. their number to the store is (562)432-3040 . This day in particular I had token her earlier around the time he had just opened (mind you other times I've took her the wait time is approximately 2 hours 2 in a half 3 at the most) so around 9:20 I would say I dropped her off. Friday the 6th, I told him what I wanted asked for the price and went on my way. 2 hours pass by I was still around the area trying to kill time so I could pick my baby up my self and take her to the park afterwards and just spend time with her since I'm always gone. So now we are at 3 hours and so at this point I called to ask what the update was. He said she was still not ready that he would call when she was ready. By that time it was around 12ish. I had to head out to work by 2. So i had to end up heading out and having my mom pick her up for me. It hit 2 and he still hadn't called me so I called him and as soon as he answered he said "oh I was just going to call you" I was soo irritated. Had took all day and to add to it was so unprofessional to keeping the owner (ME) updated on my dog! Anyways my mom picked her up and 2 days after I came to see her, my dog has cut marks all down the bottom part of her body! Red and scabs all down her legs and bottom part of the tummy my baby is like my daughter I cant stand seeing my baby like this I am furious and I swear I want to go over there and talk some shit and just go off on him but at this point there is nothing I could really do other than tell you all to NOT GO HERE! There has been MANY BAD REVIEWS ON THIS PLACE! I have been coming here to see Albert for all my needs for the passed 15 years! He is very knowledgeable and has helped me out in soo many situations! I have had Doberman Pinschers for the passed 15 years (currently have 2) and been coming here to get their nails cut. Albert is the only guy that can control my dogs and cuts their nails. Yes sometimes I slag and skip a month of nail cutting and it happens that he cuts into a nail because they have gotten way too long! A lot of dog owners wait years to cut their dogs nails and expect a miracle when they finally make it in and suddenly its the other persons fault, I read through some of those comments above and I see a lot of very long nails...nails are supposed to be cut regularly!! And as far as the mask issue, I was just in a few days ago for a nail trim and food and he was wearing a mask! So come on guys, he is an honest man running an honest business. I found my food cheaper somewhere else and Albert offered to price match right away and he offers delivery if you don't make it out! That is a good business man, I live in North Long Beach. If anything is wrong with my pups I call him first and see what he has to say, I value his opinion. He is the "Dog Whisperer".... at least with my 2 Dobies. More like rip off prices. We called every hour to check up on her since she is our furry baby and the guy got mad and once we went there he lectured us. For caring about our furry puppy..... Seriously don't do it, huge rip off. She looks like a bobble head, looks like they didn't care at all. Didn't even cut all her nails. Not worth it.
