I was in such disbelief, I thought she was joking at first, it's such a dumb rule. I've never heard that in my 3 years of shopping there. Still I thought it was worth going in. Carey called the manufacturer and got a response back to me the same day. I hadn't shopped at Nilsen much because we typically need items more like the lumber yard stocks (lumber, sheetrock, etc). But after looking around and realizing Nilsen has basic cleaning products, boots, socks, Yeti products and even cute home decor I will definitely be giving them more of my business! Shop local!

They are protecting animals' health and well-being. The Humane Society!is not a pet store (who sells animals nor matter who you are or what your plans are with that animal). This organization does not exist to appease to your specific situation or give you a break. THEY RESCUE ANIMALS. And... before they allow you to adopt (especially dogs) they will check you out, check out your space and if they deem you "unfit" you probably are! They are picky for a good, reason. They will also NOT take in somebody's pet who is trying to unload a problem, animal that does not fit into their family and probably, nowhere else! I cannot speak lowly enough of the people who have punished this impeccable organization with their petty and meaningless reviews. They should be ashamed of themselves with their lopsided, complaints. I hope these cry-babies are eventually judged and criticized for being the ugly, entitled, self-serving humans they indicate to anybody unfortunate enough to have read their STUPID Pointless, comments that really got my goat! I drove 2 hours to make it. I asked for a TRIM on his paws & butt. Here we are 10 years later & I took my husky who got completely botched. I'm going to drop the photos here for everyone to review & make their own decisions. I know hair will grow back but this shows the "expertise" of the groomer. I know this review may do no good to the owner whose response to criticism has been quite colorful to say the least, but I do know that in a small town word travels faster than wildfire & I plan to take my botched pup to every local place to show off his "muddy paws look".
