I drove 2 hours to make it. I asked for a TRIM on his paws & butt. Here we are 10 years later & I took my husky who got completely botched. I'm going to drop the photos here for everyone to review & make their own decisions. I know hair will grow back but this shows the "expertise" of the groomer. I know this review may do no good to the owner whose response to criticism has been quite colorful to say the least, but I do know that in a small town word travels faster than wildfire & I plan to take my botched pup to every local place to show off his "muddy paws look". Woodstock here we come. Hey may be we can get a shirt to really make the look?

Rob said as soon as he got him to the vet they gave him painkillers to top the pain while we decided what to do. It was apparent that the damage was so great that we needed to euthanize him. Despite the fact that I paid extra for shampoo because I really liked the shampoo they sell, they kept giving me bottles with 99% water diluted shampoo. Upon request for an alternative bottle I was told, "That's just how it is." And "it's diluted." Yes very diluted. Don't waste your money. I suggest you use the self use dog spa in Arcata where they are friendly and never dilute the shampoo and try to gaslight you into paying for a bottle of water. They supported my partner and I though the entire process as well during his last appointments. Our Bandit was in great hands throughout all of his appointments at this clinic. They answered all questions we had and made caring for our boy easy. After he left us the clinic took nose and paw prints for us, chose a beautiful box for his ashes and mailed us a stone with his name engraved, all from the kindness of their hearts. Thank you Sunnybrae Animal Clinic for all your care! I continue to recommend this clinic for the other pets in our lives.

Within 5 minutes the clinician came back and said we need to euthanize with zero explanation as to why. It wasn't until they were already drawing the euthanasia into the needles that they explained there were tumors in her stomach and they had preformed an ultrasound to find them. She has had no history of this but I could see she was suffering so I agreed. When I was saying goodbye to my dog I've had since I was 10 years old they kept coming in asking if I was done yet. I was given 10 minutes to say goodbye to my dog of over a decade. They still charged the emergency visit fee on top of the cremation fee. I was out $700 and my best friend. There was no one else in the lobby waiting and they were still rushing me out. No sympathy to my situation, you'd think vets would be more compassionate to pet parents but no. The only reason i'm giving the two stars is because on another occasion, I needed to get my cat dewormed and the woman on the phone encouraged me to try a cheaper over the counter medication at a local pet store first, before paying for an appointment at their clinic.

The SB vet put her on Science diet for weeks, which made me very uneasy because I think Science Diet is an awful product. And, indeed, it was a huge mistake. Dr. Sarah Green, of Healing Spririt, put my dog on some herbs to dissolve stones (and some other meds), and after a couple of weeks my dog peed the stones out. NO surgery was needed. Hallelujah! Truthfully, I wanted to deduct a star because they are expensive -but most vets are these days. In truth, avoiding surgery saved us some money in this case, but we would have paid twice as much just to avoid surgery. We've had other cases where the bills have added up quickly, but I appreciate that this practice is a blend of western, eastern, and alternative healing practices.
