Always had great luck boarding our dogs here.. Starting 1 Aug, 2021, closed for unforeseeable future.

This place has been open for 20 years and they don't need your business. They have a "good ol boy" system with a group of customers already and since they dont need your business, they don't even try! Dog trainers?.... haha. Maybe the laziest ones ever, but I definitely would not recommend to anyone who actually wants someone to care about their dog and put forth a little effort. They Didn't even give my dog 15 mins to chill out after I left before calling me back to come get him because "he seemed nervous". The employees seemed incompetent and nervous from the start and my dog probably picked up on the energy. Never had any problems ever til this "trainer". Lol no worries! Luckily there is another option so I guess country aire pet resort will get my money now. Should have know better that to trust anyone from happy va. Response: good try. Bart is well socialized with many dogs, people, and goes everywhere he's allowed to come with me or my girlfriend. You and your business will be just fine don't worry sweetheart. Have a good day! Ms Jackson trains dogs, as well as boards your dogs at her home. I have used her in the past. She is stern w/ the dogs but she is a very good trainer. I would highly recommend her. The boarding facilities are clean. She has 2+ acres. What I love about her facility is that she doesn't keep the dogs in a cage most of the day, like other facilities. She has sectioned off an area for small dogs and large dogs. The dogs are able to play outside until it's time for bed at night. Make sure to reserve a space way ahead of time during the holidays! read more

My own dog is part of our family and I wouldn't trust her to any but the best in the area -I did my research before leaving her with Mark and Carla at Jackson Ranch. I had to supply vaccination records, feeding schedules and lots more - all an indication their thorough screening and care. Their spacious, open-air day kennels is a healthy alternative to the jail cell confinement found in most boarding situations and my dog was returned happy, healthy, and obviously well cared for. This is unquestionably the best regional boarding facility for dogs. read more

Great place! I highly recommend Jackson Ranch for folks who want personalized pet care. I know my dog is in good hands while I'm traveling. She comes home with good manners, and she keeps to the routine! My dog has been learning from Carla and Mark since she was a pup, and we have the perfect dog as a result. When my dog and I moved up to Redding from the Bay Area, I was looking for a daycare facility for him to go to, and I was so lucky to have found Jackson Ranch. They are absolutely wonderful, their facility is beautiful and inviting, and best of all... my dog LOVES it there. Every time I drop him off, I know that he is going to have a full day of play with his friends and that he is going to be safe and well taken care of. And when I have to go away for a few days, there is no other place I would ever board him. I have so much respect and confidence in Carla, Mark and their staff, and I know that they will take care of my little guy like he was their own. What more can a dog mama want? I cannot recommend Jackson Ranch enough! read more

I found Jackson Ranch 2 years ago. They are the ONLY facility I will leave my dog at. I trust their knowledge and expertise with the dogs. I sent my dog there for a 2 weeks training boot camp and it helped tremendously. Whether I send her for the day or overnight, she is always happy and tired out when she comes home. Another reason I like them is the fact that the dogs get to play outside and aren't kept in a dog run or kennel. They match up the size and temperament with other dogs and let them play together. Then they eat and sleep in their own cage. I know she loves to go there because I can't hold her back when we get there. Once she sees Alana, she gets so excited. read more

This review is for boarding only (although, I have heard great things about their training program too). We had a little bit of difficulty getting in contact with Jackson Ranch initially, but I'm glad we did not stop trying. We have sent our dog to Jackson Ranch twice for boarding. The second time I could hardly keep our dog in the car when we pulled up. He was VERY excited to be back! The owners make sure they understand your dogs individual needs, and they are met. They have a CLEAN organized boarding area. The crates (resting area) are kept in a climate controlled room. Each dog has their own space. Outside dogs enjoy a clean grassy area to play. When appropriate, dogs enjoy playing together. Our dog comes home well cared for and tired from playing. read more

Jackson Ranch for dogs is a gem in Shasta County! Carla and her staff are caring, organized and deliver care for our dogs over and above any other animal caregivers we have ever used. We moved to Shasta County in 2000 from Idaho, I was given Carla Jacksons name and number by a co-worker , another RN at Mercy Hospital . That was a gift I will always appreciate. We take our 2 dogs there for boarding and they are always happy, healthy and calm when we come to pick them up! Carla has, over the past years helped my patients out who were hospitalized for unexpected critical conditions, and needed someone to urgently step in and care for their dogs! Patients knowing their pets were getting loving care could relax and heal better knowing their pets were in good hands with Carla and her staff. THANK YOU Carla! We left our 4 year old lab with them for 2 days while we went fishing. My initial communications by phone were with Carla and at the facility were with Mark. We found them to both be business-like, helpful, organized and friendly. When we picked up our lab, she was happy, but exhausted due to her playing with other dogs of comparable size & temperament. We felt very comfortable leaving there and will not hesitate to use them. read more
