My dog was originally diagnosed with an eye condition that requires him to be on a life long med or he could possibly go blind. Upon my visit to my current vet she advised she would renew his prescription. When I ordered it the prescription was denied by chewy stating that the vet denied it. When I contacted my current vet about this she advised me she would not renew this med until he was seen bye an ophthalmologist in Medford. I then asked why I wasn't told this at the visit or made aware when she made this decision, or any time that I called after to find out why and all she could tell me is she had poor communication with me. So I made an appt for end of March since this ophthalmologist travels to Redding. I asked Westside if they would renew his med until he could be seen. She refused. He ran out of his ointment and after 2 days his eyes got significantly worse so I made an appt at Shingletown vet. At my appointment with Shingletown vet they confirmed he had the eye condition and in fact needed the medication right away. He was then given his medication right there in the office, and they advised that they would renew his medication and there was no need for me to meet with the ophthalmologist and spend another $300.
