My sister in law took her dog here and had a terrible experience. After going through anesthesia for an ear infection they returned the dog COVERED IN HER OWN URINE. I understand that's a common occurrence when undergoing anesthesia...but to return her in that state...Like didn't even try to clean her up. Just.... Here is your urine saturated dog. UPDATE: It has been four years since my last review. A lot has changed. The practice has changed hands and they have expanded their space. Here's what hasn't changed. Pet Headquarters is still #1 for me. I had to euthanize my 14 year old Chihuahua during COVID. We, the vet, my husband and I, all worked hard to give her quality of life as long as we could but when it was time it was time. The staff was so kind and caring even though I was a blubbering mess. I'm forever grateful for their sensitivity during an awful time. Today, we had to bring in our newly adopted Chihuahua because his neuter (done at the shelter) had begun to open. Now we had a voucher for a free exam at different vets but we wanted Dr Singh and no one else so we gratefully paid. We will rest well tonight knowing Pepe got the best care today we could give him. read more

One of my friends recommended this practice when I adopted a pup who needed a dental clean with extractions. My normal vet quoted just on $600 for the procedure which I thought was a bit pricey for a 6.2 lbs pup. Roughly $100 per pound...lol. I called Pet Headquarters and they quoted $150 for the dental cleaning, and $10 per extraction. The price difference was amazing! Plus the staff were really helpful and friendly over the phone, answering all my questions and putting my mind at ease. I booked my tiny pup in for a Monday morning, drop off at 8-8.30am, and the practice was easy to find with plenty of free parking right outside. Staff were expecting me and the paperwork was quick and easy. My pup was taken back to settle in and they promised to call me as soon as the procedure was over. I hardly had time to grab breakfast before they called to say the procedure had gone well with only 1 extraction. They were so quick! I left my pup for an hour more just to make sure she wasn't too groggy from the anesthesia then picked her up. I could have left her there for the remainder of the day until they closed (great if you work during the day), but I brought her home before11am and she was fine. The anesthesia wasn't too heavy for her, she didn't vomit at all, (I did as their printed form stated and didn't give her food or water for the first hour, introduced a little water, then when she responded well allowed more water and a little soft food which she gulped down). By noon she was running around outside and jumping on the furniture as normal! As the tooth removed was a large canine I requested/purchased some pain killer just in case she was in pain overnight (this has happened with one of my other dogs and I never want to go through that again without pain killer!). However she didn't need it at all. No pain, no problem, eating and drinking well, chasing and biting her ball. Happy, happy, yappy. I took a look at her teeth later that night and they were pearly white, such a difference from the awful smelly tartar build up she arrived with. Her breath while still doggy isn't as gut wrenching as before. She could knock a bird out of the sky with her severe halitosis beforehand - probably because of that rotting canine. Now her smile is clean and healthy. I would definitely recommend this practice. The staff were very friendly and professional, and very caring with my pup. They were happy to answer all my questions and gave good suggestions. Their pricing is ridiculously cheap compared to other vets I've been to, which makes keeping a pet healthy much more affordable. During this CoVid19 pandemic, responsibly, I decided to take my dogs to their Vet, as abundance of caution in case I became ill. I wanted to make sure my dogs would not be denied boarding due to lack of bordetella shot. Never did I expect the treatment I received. I did expect price gauging, to be spoken rudely, and then hung up on from an establishment once so respected. Prior, I called for pricing, scheduled appointment, and arrived on time. Upon arrival I added nail trimming for two of the dogs. I was greeted curbside I think Samuel who took one of my 3 dogs, then Amy who by the way was very apologetic, kind and helpful, she took the other 2 dogs to minimize my wait time. When my dogs returned to me, I received an outrageous total without an itemized bill. I asked for the itemized bill and to speak to Dr. Thomas. I was THEN AND ONLY THEN told Dr. Thomas retired. Had I known this I would not have passed several vet clinics and traveled so far. My connection was to Dr. Thomas and his staff, their friendliness, fairness and family environment was priceless. My rating of a two - one for my dogs received their shots and two from Amy and Christi who tried to represent the business professionally. I take away 2 stars for treatment of employee Ashley - the RUDE one, who had the audacity to tell me Dr. Thomas broke the law by not charging office visit when administering vaccines - HUH??? (yet they still bare his name and benefit from his patients) I guess Petco and other clinics did not get the same education and degrees she so proudly wanted to boast to me about. Then when I asked her about this "law" she so cowardly hung up on me. I guess manners were not a part of her education. I was charged 35.00 per dog for office visit, when just two days ago my son took his dog and was charged 20.00. I was there for vaccines.... and should have been charged the price I was quoted. I was charged for three dogs nail clipping when only two had their nails clipped. My bill should have been $184.00, not trumped up with charges,...shame on you! The first bill I questioned was $309. When I asked for an itemized bill and pointed out the overcharging they reduced to $274, then $254. Still 70.00 more than I was quoted. I told them I would dispute and would like to speak with the new Dr. Ghuman. I waited 10 DAYS before posting to at least give him a chance to discuss... no call, there goes the 1 star as a patient I at least thought my business was valued. This review is long overdue! My husband and I have 4 dogs & have taken them to multiple vets but Pet Headquarters by far, has been the best. Our Golden Retriever Kona was diagnosed with vestibular disease last year & unfortunately was simultaneously battling pancreatitis without us knowing. Luckily, Pet Headquarters took us in right away & was able to quickly diagnose her issues & began treatment which really saved her!! The Doctors at Pet Headquarters really showed care and compassion for her & for us as scared, stressed pet owners which we're forever grateful for. We took our 5 week old kitten that was found outside alone and having extremely disturbing bowel movements here and the vet- Raj, didn't touch her, look at her ears, mouth, take temperature or anything. He told us to "Go ask the people working at Petco what she should eat?" My boyfriend who very rarely gets angry or outwardly upset asked if he was kidding and walked out right then. My friend had her dog taken care of by this facility. If I didn't directly see it and try to help deal with it, I wouldn't rate. But I did and it was super upsetting. We tried to call them to get a status update, 4 times! No answer, it rang and rang. Nothing. She finally got a hold of them and said the dog was not even ready or had been treated. This after 4pm. The dog was taken in for a morning surgery. And the dog.. you'd expect and hope for nice clean stitches after a surgery. This was anything but that. Horrible vet , they gave my dog ulcer medication when I had taken him in for an eye infection. I had to go back because the medication they gave him made his eye worse and the veg decided to argue with me instead of hearing why I went back . He prescribed more medication for his eye that was unnecessary. Up to this day my poor doggos eye has not gotten any better. I just had one of the worse nights of my life. I had an appt at 5:30 to put my dog down. It was bad enough to go about all day knowing I had to put my 18 year old dog down, but when I arrived at 5:15, I was told the vet was running 30 minutes late & to wait in my car with my dog with my daughter. That was agonizing. When we finally got to go in, we again waited 20 minutes to see the vet. At this point my dog was getting agitated. Then they took him back to put the stint in his leg, they tried for over 20 minutes, while I waited in the room listening to my dog scream in pain. My heart broke & I prayed my dog would forgive me for putting him through this. Finally they brought him in the room with two legs shaved & bandaged with one stint. My Buster was spent & traumatized. I again waited for the vet to finally come in & euthanize him. After over an hour, I left traumatized & completely guilty for putting my dog through that. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL THERE TO BE PUT DOWN. My dog left this world in pain & traumatized. Why they didn't sedated him at first, I don't know. $206.00 later, I won't forgive myself. Recently, I was in the Camarillo area with my dog Toby, visiting some family. One day in the evening, I took Toby out to the park, and he was running around playing with his ball like he usually does. Everything was fine when we came home. The next day in the morning, I noticed there was something off about Toby; he would not get up. Eventually, he got up and walked over to his bowl of water and after taking a few sips he fell face-first into his water bowl. I jumped up and picked him up. Immediately, I knew we had to get him to a vet. I couldn't take him back to Union City to see his vet. So, I hopped on Yelp, and the first place that popped up was Pet Headquarters. I walked in that morning, hoping they could take a look at Toby. Dr. Raj and his team were wonderful and swift! They were able to get us in ASAP. Dr. Raj took a look at Toby and noticed the problem right away. Toby's nail had come loose. Dr. Raj carefully removed his nail and took the proper precautions to prevent an infection from happening. They gave him some pain medication and a cone as well. Dr. Raj assured me that Toby was fine and that if Toby continued to have problems I could come back. Toby was good as new and we were able to stay for another 3-4 days in Camarillo before we headed back. He made a full recovery and has never had a problem since. The whole staff at Pet Headquarters is exceptional! They are very welcoming and hospitable! They treat your furry family members and you like their own. Anytime I come down to Camarillo with Toby I never have to worry about him! If anything happens, I know Dr. Raj and his team will be there to save the day. Highly recommend this place! read more

I would strongly discourage Camarillo locals from taking their pets here. My 4 month old puppy was limping after tripping on a tree branch when chasing a ball in January. By the evening (5:30) I knew something was wrong and Pet Headquarters was the only vet still open. The front desk staff was fine--mostly on their phones, but friendly enough. They brought us back to an exam room relatively quickly. The facility was clean and up-to-date. We waited about 20 minutes for the doctor to come in. Without looking at or touching the dog or making eye contact with me, he asked what the problem was. I said that the dog was limping. Before I could explain what happened, he cut me off and said that some puppies just have pain in their feet from growing due to a genetic condition. Seriously? I explained that she had a moment of acute pain while playing, had been limping more and more throughout the day, and was uncharacteristically calm (she's a GSP). The vet ordered an x-ray without ever touching the dog's paw. A tech took the dog to the back. Meanwhile, a young woman came in to review the x-ray charges and told me that they would need to put the dog under general anesthesia. New to this, I assumed this was normal. (I have since learned that general anesthesia is recommended only after attempting to take an x-ray without it, when a dog can't/won't hold still with appropriate restraint.) The price seemed somewhat high ($358 for an exam, xray, and sedation). After they had finished the x-ray, they brought her out of sedation and I could hear her crying incessantly and frantically in the back. I finally asked the front desk if they would just bring the dog to me while I waited in the front. They agreed, and she settled down next to me, restless but quiet. There had been no need for her to be so worked up (while in pain) in the back. We waited for an hour. We finally went to an exam room again, where they had the x-ray up. Her toe was clearly broken. We waited for another 30-40 minutes before the doctor came in to confirm that it was broken, without making eye contact with me or interacting with the dog. He said that my options were to let her be and let it heal or to splint her for 3 weeks, but then said that splinting was the only real option because the dog would otherwise suffer. I agreed to splint and he left the room. This took about 90 seconds. They then tried to charge me $500 to splint it (which is literally wrapping it in bandages around a plastic spoon-shaped device) and give her medication that I could buy at Costco for about 1/4 of the cost. Recognizing immediately that this was a complete racket, I pushed back. The billing girl actually said, "Are you sure? You don't want your sweetie to suffer, do you?" I took the dog, paid, and left. The next morning, we went to our regular vet, Dr. Chong at Camarillo Vet Hospital. She squeezed us in without an appointment after one look at the x-ray. She was down on the floor, loving on the dog. She explained three things. First, she said that a splint would be dangerous because of the ongoing rain. If the splint got wet (which of course it would while the dog went potty), it could tighten too much around the swelling, cut off circulation, and worsen the injury. Second, she said that puppies at this age will naturally heal with a little bit of rest and that their instinct allows them to moderate their own activity to a certain extent. Third, she got breed specific with me and talked about how my particular dog would likely not tolerate a splint (or much rest) and explained how to keep her behavior moderated while she couldn't run. She recommended against any medication but did wrap the foot loosely with a light bandage and asked that I bring her back once a week while she healed. She snuggled the dog, spent time explaining the anatomy to me, and ultimately won my business for as long as we have pets. I paid $55 for the initial visit (her normal consult rate) and nothing for the follow-ups, the bandaging, etc. You have other options. Don't go to Pet Headquarters. read more

On June 13 2021, we had an emergency, our little puppy was in critical condition. She needed to be seen by a vet ASAP...I knew that if she wasn't seen she was going to die on me. I went pet headquarters in Camarillo, California and explained what my puppy was going thru. Receptionist #1 had me wait outside. There was another pet ahead of us and when that pet was called a nice lady gave up her spot so that my puppy could be seen. Receptionist #2 told me I could go In...when we walked in receptionist #1 started screaming and yelling to get out. I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior specially when dealing with a life or death situation. They denied to see my puppy and didn't even guide me in any direction. Don't Go Here!! They are not professionals!! My Dog suffered a horrible death, because of them and Dr Ghuman!! It's taken me a week to write this, last week our sweet Coco a Pomchi, 13 years old passed away in my arms. I took him to this veterinary clinic, but I really regret it. Dr. Ghuman didn't give us the right guidance when taking care of Coco. He had an anal infection and he went in for surgery because it looked bad. Went in mid day and by 4pm I called to see how things were going; the receptionist said she was going to check and I got transferred to Dr Ghuman, he said he was keeping Coco until 6pm to check he was stable but that everything had gone well. When we went to pick him up, they showed us to the room and said the Dr was going to talk to us, I assumed he was going to brief us on how to take care of Coco, he did and they showed us out to wait for Coco. A few minutes passed we paid for a bunch more medication because the Dr said Coco needed heart medication because he had a murmur and they called only one person in to see Coco ( I was there with my mom) apparently they gave him the heart med and he didn't take it well. He started trembling and when I got in to see him, he was in an oxygen box. My heart broke he looked very bad, but dr Ghuman said we had to take him to an animal er, they called several places and the one that was accepting patients was going to be $2k for the night. I told the Dr that I couldn't afford that and what were Coco's chances , and it was here that the Dr had the first chance to tell us that Coco was not going to make it and for us to make a decision to put him to sleep!! Coco would have died more peacefully We left thinking we could give him oxygen at home (my dad and brother went to get the oxygen) but as we left the clinic Coco was panting and we didn't even drive 3 minutes and he was dying, I gave him mouth to mouth and we returned to the clinic . The clinic was still open because they were operating another dog and we busted open the door to call the doctor to help. He did bring him in and gave him more oxygen, but at this point the Dr had the second chance to definitely tell us that Coco was not going to make it and for us to make a decision. We honestly were not even thinking about that, we were focused on trying to help him. He gave Coco back to us and said we couldn't come back because he was operating another dog and they were closed. We headed to the Er hospital, but Coco started gasping and we were giving him the oxygen and we're holding down at an angle (as instructed by them , they said that the lung fluids were coming out and we had to pat him in his lungs to help him get them out - later I was researching and when there's fluids coming out, that's one of the signs of a dying dog) We stopped to aid Coco and fought for his life as Coco was gasping and taking those fluids out. I was , we were all shocked and kept trying to help Coco. It was in Vain. Coco passed suffered, gasping and taking his last breath in agony he passed. I still didn't know if he has died and kept hearing for his heartbeat and thought I heard something, but it was my imagination. Our Coco was gone. He could have gone peacefully. The whole experience was horrible . I think things could've gone differently. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. Our cat needed to be seen urgently and no vets would take us, except this one would. We arrive at 12:15, do all the paperwork, and they take our cat back around 12:30 and say it'll be 1-2 hours. Three hours later, we haven't heard anything, so we give them a call. They say the doctor is creating a treatment plan and will call us "in a few minutes". Another 45 minutes go by before we are called. We are told he will be ready to go at 4:30. We call them at 5:15, and they tell us he is ready to be picked up. We arrive, and are told it will be another 20 minutes due to some more blood draws. In the end, a "1-2 hour visit" took 6 hours, their communication is horrid and they barely explained how they are treating our cat, and give us a huge bill. The lack of honesty and transparency was unacceptable. If you have other options, don't come here. read more

Dr. Raj and the staff at Pet Headquarters are incredible! They saved our senior dog's life on more than one occasion. Dr. Raj listened to our concerns and made sure we were informed of and comfortable with everything he did. Our dog had kidney failure and stopped walking, eating, drinking, and couldn't stand to use the bathroom. Within days of his treatment, he started recovering! He is an 18 year old PomChi and he is happy and mobile and doing great! We are so grateful for their loving care of our little guy. Save money, save time, and make a life long friend by going to Dr. Thomas. Last time we were in his office, we met a girl in the waiting room, who drove from Santa Barbara w her dog, after going to multiple other vets, because Dr. Thomas is "the best." I'll tell you why you should go to him if you have any doubts at all. A few months back we were sitting in the ER of Conejo Valley Vet in Westlake, with all the machinery and equipment at their disposal, and what the guy (wasn't really fond of him and he didn't really seem to care about Dewey at all) told us was: I can't tell you anything without running $1,000 in tests. It was a Saturday morning at 5am and Dewey was struggling. We decided to drive further to Dr. Thomas on Monday because we trust him. We brought Dewey to Dr. Thomas, and within a minute he pointed out he was dehydrated and it looked like his kidneys. He ran the blood work for a fraction of what we were quoted at Conejo Vet... Dr. Thomas was spot on. While it was not likely he would make it after seeing the numbers on the blood work, Dr. Thomas gave us a fighting chance. We have peace knowing we did everything we possibly could. We got to spend the last few weeks with our best friend fighting the infection to see if we could heal his kidneys. When the infection cleared, we realized he was still in pain and he kidneys were failing beyond help. At the equivalent of a 90 yr old man, we had to let him go. It took me a few weeks to write this because Dewey was such a great companion to my entire family, especially to my girlfriend Olivia who took him for walks every day and spent hours at the park with him and her other dog friends. We might have let it go further than we should with Dewey because we love him so much and he eventually had a seizure in my arms the morning before he went. Dr. Thomas let us do everything we possibly could before we accepted it was his time. His kidneys were causing him to vomit and not retain any water as well as extreme pain. It was so hard to watch him suffer. Only a true animal lover will understand the desire to hold onto your best friend and do everything you possibly can, but instead of worrying about money and a business, Dr. Thomas helped us focus on what was important, and we were able to do that with him. I can't thank him enough and we are so grateful for the team at Pet Headquarters. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible!! Took my 6 month old puppy in because she had blood in her stool ( our vet was not able to see her same day and recommended we take her to be seen somewhere incase of anything life threatening) , was advised that I would need to wait outside and she would be given a parvo test before entering. Once she tested negative they let her in and took her in for examination. They called us about 2 hours later and said they could not find anything wrong with her but would recommend she stay overnight since she was an "older dog" ( keep in mind she is still a puppy). We didn't see a need for her to stay since they hadn't found anything and we had an appointment to see our vet the next day. We told them we would like to go and pick her up and would talk to them in person to see if anything was absolutely necessary to be done since they had quoted us a 700$ bill for everything. When we arrived they told us she would be ready for pick up in a bit and they were just finishing up with her, to our shock she was being treated without our permission and we're being demanded to pay for all these things we didn't not approve of! I am all for doing what's best for my dog but trying to charge me for treatment when your unsure if what's wrong with her doesn't seem right to me. Edit: also the parvo test was forced onto us because of the blood found in her stool! But when another dog came in with the same symptoms they weren't forced to take a 72$ parvo test! The upswell here is unbelievable they will do anything to make you spend your $$ knowing it's what most pet owners will do for there fur babies. read more

Update, 8/10/21: I received a call from the vet again this morning saying they would treat my cat. Since I'd already spent everything I had and everyone else is booked I took him back in. He's back home now and I can physically see the difference from the IV fluids, and mwds he was given. For this reason, I did raise my review to 3 stars. The vet outright asked me to take down this review though, which I believe is the only reason they offered to treat him today. The vet himself came in this time as well. While I am very grateful they treated my cat, it shouldn't take a negative review to change your mind. This clearly tells me that the main priority is still image and money. Had I not written this review I would have never heard back. I will take care of the bill this Friday as promised, but will still be finding another vet. 8/9/21: Worst vet ever!! I only went here because every vet in town is booked and my kitten needed to be seen urgently. I should have listened to the other yelp reviews and kept looking. This place literally ONLY cares about money! I told them out the gate I was on disability right now and only had a certain amount of money. When we went to pick him up the vet wouldn't even come out and talk to us!! He kept sending his back office assistant up to talk to us and she couldn't answer our questions. So she'd have go go back and ask him. We had just enough to cover the office visit and all the lab work, and only needed until this Friday to pay the $200 balance and they refused. So we brought home a 4 month old kitten who can't est or drink, is dehydrated, and who they said has pancreatitis and hyperthyroidism with no medication or fluids whatsoever. This vet does not care if your animal dies!! I will be filing a complaint with the licensing board tomorrow. They also made us discuss all this in front if other customers, so they have no problem humiliating you either. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would PSA: if you love your pets please do not take your pets to Pet Headquarters in Camarillo at 4920 Verdugo Way. The office staff is horrible, unprofessional, rude, and is extremely immature, except for a girl named Kimberly. The doctor and staff do not chart appointments or findings, RX dosages for meds that they prescribed are nonexistent. They will not return phone calls. They can't retain information that was just provided to them. They give you wrong appointment times and when you show up on time they don't acknowledge you. The last time, we waiting outside the door for over 25 mins before they acknowledged us and even after that we still had to wait well past our Real appointment time but they were quick to bring out the bill for payment. They still sign for the previous doctor that has been gone for over a year. They are also not consistent with their charging and billing. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and licensing board as well and informing the public to the ridiculously shameful and unethical treatment they show their patients and their owners. I am not alone with my feelings, their Yelp reviews are horrible and terrifying. When Dr Thomas left he promised nothing would change and I think if he saw what was happening to his practice that he and his father built, he would lose his mind. read more

I took my dog in a while back because he was attacked. He had to get sedated because the injury was to his face/mouth area. They had to drain the fluid that built up and do blood work and of course, sedation since they had to work on his mouth and also X-rays for possible bone fractures. General things for this kind of situation. He was helped right away and there for around 5 hours and they sent us home with his medication. He was still very out of it when we picked him up. That trip was just under $630. It still seems that is a fair price for what happened to him. Today, I took him in for 2 pretty ugly hotspots. One on his neck, which was the worst of the 2 being bloody and raw, and one on his hip, which was not as bad and as explained "superficial". They shaved him (possibly over shaved him), cleaned his wounds, did a blood test (same as last time) and gave him a bunch of cream and medicine (on top of antibiotic shots which the shots are usual). They also sedated him. This time, it was $970. His last sedation for a mouth and jaw treatment and X-ray was $125. Of course prices go up but the sedation for 2 hotspot cleanings (shave and clean) was almost $300. When I asked why it was more than last time for the sedation, the tech asked the vet and he said it was light sedation for the X-rays but I know for a fact he didn't look at the notes from the last visit because when we talked to him, he didn't know about the mouth injury. So that's when I knew this didn't make any sense. I was confused at the price because he has gotten this done before at his primary vet (who wasn't available) and they had to shave and clean this entire left hip/butt and half his tail and the entire bill with medication was less than $300. The veterinarian stated that he "didn't know that the spots were not as deep as they seemed" and our dog was giving him a hard time while trying to do any examination, as a dog would do. He claimed it took over "90 minutes" JUST to get him cleaned and that's why they had to sedate him so much. I added my call log to this post. They call when the vet needs to speak to you and then another call from a tech for pricing and a last call for pick up. The call at 1:42 was the pricing call and vet call telling me what they were going to be doing to my dog. The call at 2:42 was to tell me he was ready to be picked up. That is only ONE hour after they told me what the process was going to be, considering they started right way after they hung up the 1st call. It seems that he would have been there much longer based off the fact that he needed to be sedation excessively. The blood work seemed to be quite a jump but I was definitely not my top worry. It seemed like I was hearing excuses and sadly lies about why the price was so high for a treatment that didn't need BOTH anesthesia AND sedation for a hotspot treatment when both weren't even used for the treatment for his attack. I understand the reason that was given as " it's company pricing." Yes it is(possibly). But if it was not needed and I was told "we thought it was worse", why would I be charged outrageously for it? And being they gave him that much sedation, I thought he'd be even more out of it than last time(he could barley walk) but this time, they brought him in the room and he was jumping on the seat and waking perfectly fine. The reason why a one star sits okay with me is because the techs and people at the front (that I encountered) were extremely nice and helpful. From the initial call to the in-person pick up when I was given the medication, all the ladies were extremely kind. I would give the tech staff 5 stars. But this is an establishment that seems to unfortunately be the place to point fingers and blame you or your dog for the excessive pricing. Try to get your dog to the their usual vet or any other hospital in case of an emergency. Ive heard of overpricing or even this feels like being scammed but I didn't think I would have this experience here and I really liked the staff but this is extremely unfortunate. read more

I've been a client there for 10+ years and even with the transition to the new owner, the doc and service are amazing. Some of the clients not so much and I've witnessed overt racism toward the doc. However he handled it with grace. read more

Not real happy. Took 2 dogs there for allergy shots. Ended up with a $400.00 bill after all said n done. Had to get a booster for 1 dog. Office charge $48.00 x 2 dogs Allergy shots $74.00 x 2 dogs Dhpp shot $30.00 x 1 dog Pen g small $39.00 x 1 dog Kenalog ( what ever that is) $54.00 x 1 dog Entenderm cream $25.00 x 1 dog ( never received at time of this review) And get this Biohazard fee of $3.75 for needles. On top of all that, they never gave me my cream, went back for it and was told they can't give it to me unless the vet is there. Why are they open without a vet? Oh and then they take your dogs out of site to give them the shots if they do it at all is my guess. What happened to comforting your pets while they get their shots. No they make you sit in the front while your pets are scared out of their minds. They don't like the vet in the first place and now they take them from you to perform there simple shots. read more

First visit to this facility was due to an emergency with my puppy. Dr. NEVER came out to talk to me, or called to follow up. Too many negatives to mention, nor will I waste my time doing so. Needless to say, I would never return. read more

Lexie, the mighty Rottie has been in great hands with Drs. Singh and Ghuman at pet head quarters. They are both very caring. They LISTEN to all my concerns and ANSWER all my questions. I am grateful to have these guys as Lexie's doctors. The office staff is very attentive and comforting as well. I highly recommend this office. read more

My dog was having severe pain all threw the night and after calling multiple vet emergency clinics, no one would take him. Either they were at max capacity or his condition didn't seem life threatening. I called Pet Headquarters and after explaining what was going on they said to bring him on a first come first serve basis. He was seen shortly after. After calling clinics all over Ventura county with no luck I am thankful I found PH. Staff was great and helpful as well! read more

Would give no stars if I could. I took my dog there a week ago and he was perfectly fine. He just need a shot and flea meds. Not cuz he had fleas just so that he doesn't get them. Now he has a skin rash and scabs all over. Also he got conjunctivitis in both of his eyes. He never had that before. So now not only is my dog sick when he wasn't. I paid close to $100 for him to get sick. Terrible, I will never go again. read more

If I could give -100 stars that's exactly what I would give this practice. Since Dr. Thomas retired the shadiness that's going on is absolutely unbelievable. Took my dog on Friday for anal glands and your itchiness... $400 later and a bunch of shots I didn't authorize that were done while my daughter took him in even though there are notes all over the records to call me before doing anything... I was livid. I am in DC due to restrictions of Covid and my health risk. Then today he was supposed to have a dental cleaning. Over the course of 2 weeks trying to schedule him being brought in, I was given 3 different prices- only last Friday was my daughter given a printout. During the cleaning, They called and said he needed 10 teeth removed. I don't believe that so initially I said remove the 5 worst. .within seconds, I called back and said NO EXTRACTION. I felt like we were being hosed so I wanted to get a second opinion. Spoke to the doctor and he said he had done a couple of extractions but would not charge me for the few he removed but I needed to get It done. I said I had every intention of taking care of him but at a different vet. I told him I would not be bringing my dog back after today. My daughter picked him up and found out all 10 teeth had been removed. And I was charged for half of them after being told I wouldn't be. Teeth that were not in need of extraction were pulled from my dogs mouth. In my opinion it was because the doctor and I got into an argument. I find his behavior and that of his staff to be unethical. I don't think he cares anything about the animals. I think it's all about money. After five years with Dr. Thomas, I will never set foot in this office again. I urge anyone reading this to find a different doctor. read more

I was there with my pets in January and I had a good experience. I read the bad reviews and ignored them and went back in April. I was told by Margaret to arrive by 9 am and I would be taken right away. When I arrived they did take me right away, but the doctor denied seeing my pet and said I could leave him until noon. I refused and left. I will never go back. Obviously, his loyal pet owners do not come first. It was hard to catch my pet and it was a waste of my time. I do not recommend this place to anyone wondering if they should bring in their beloved pets. read more

Do not go here. Horrible since Dr Thomas left. I was told that the office visit would be free due to getting our new kitten a vaccination- but then got charged. I confronted the receptionist on this and she said that wasn't true since the kitten is a new pet. Also, receptionist was not wearing a mask! Dr. Seemed I'll informed on how to treat a skin condition my kitten has- he only seemed interested in seeking me preventative products but would contradict himself on what these product would do for her existing skin condition. I felt completely taken advantage of financially and left with no treatment for the kittens skin condition. read more

I wanted to acknowledge Pet Headquarters Veterinary Hospital. We called 8 vets including our own vet, and everyone was booked. PH were the only ones who would help us. They gave us the choice to either bring Moosh home to pass, or for them to help. We chose to bring him home. They removed his oxygen once my sons arrived, and the staff had everyone in the waiting room stand outside. We were able to get him home and sit in his favorite spot, the couch. He was able to pass in his own home in his favorite spot on Tyler's lap with everyone he loved around him and me telling him Mommy's here. I'm so glad he passed in a familiar place, our home. Our other dog Sammy kept his head in my lap right by his buddy Moosh's side, and Sophia the cat was there too. Thank you Pet Headquarters for the dignity and compassion. Beyond amazed! They saved my dog!! He ingested something and no hospital would see him due to being at capacity! We were treated so rudely by more then one place. The staff and dr at pet headquarters were angels! They were kind and took him immediately even though it was late and unlike the other place are not 24 hour. I've been very happy taking my dogs here to see Dr. Thomas, who was very compassionate and always put the pets well being ahead of money. I went today to get the 2nd round of shots for my puppy, they charged me almost double what was quoted on the phone. Because of covid-19 I had to pay by credit card over the phone, the receptionist kept me on hold for 22 minutes and didn't care, withheld my puppy until paid. Not only will I never return, I'll make sure everyone I know is aware the rapid descent of service at this establishment. read more
