Do you have a new puppy? Are you seeking help from professionals who have real life experience…read moreproperly training dogs? If yes, look no further then the Canine Coach in Saint Paul. We took the 7-week introductory puppy course with instructor Brittany P. and it was a life saver. Brittany taught us how to control our puppy with techniques such as the quiet hold, zen activities, puppy socialization tactics to help with safety measures, and proper leash walking recommendations. This introductory class really helped us understand puppy behavior, how to course correct and integrate obedience training into our daily lives. Something ironic is that week #1 we had about 5 puppies and as every week passed, we ended up being the only group / puppy for the final 3 weeks so we basically got 1:1 attention! Not sure where / why others backed down but we still really appreciated all that Brittany was able to help us with. Her energy and enthusiasm for puppy obedience were outstanding. Within this puppy course, there are obedience steps you will learn in your training and then complete homework assignments where you will plug and play what you learned into your daily routine (IE: during outdoor walks, kennel time, feeding, sleeping, etc.) There is a generous parking lot on the side and there are two rooms within the building. I can only speak towards the top level as that is where my training was and the space felt very clean considering how many dogs visit each day. My understanding of the basement room is that it is used for agility training but I am sure you can confirm this on the website. We had so much fun that we will probably return for level 2 training. Thank you, thank you!

Pros: Large selection of classes. If you have a dog, you can probably find something they'll like…read moreto do. Prices are reasonable. Multiple locations throughout the cities. Clean facilities. Cons: If your dog attends the very expensive Boot Camp or Fit Dogs programs they spend 3-4 20 minute sessions with a trainer, the rest of the day your dog is in a kennel. My dog did both and I can't recommend. There is a lack of consistency between trainers. Take the same course with 2 different trainers, terms and methods will all be different. Communication with the office is difficult. I and 3 others I know who used them found the same. Last but definitely not least, serious lack of professionalism in trainers. My boy took the CGC course. He passed the practice test on the last week. I posted I was proud of him on a Facebook group. The following week he failed the official test. His trainer/evaluator went on the Facebook group and mocked us, saying we received divine retribution for bragging and need to eat humble pie. Needless to say we withdrew from the other classes he was registered for. The office has repeatedly ignored my requests to speak to someone about it.

So I'll start this by saying my dog was itching himself over what I thought was just an issue from…read morean ear infection and having a cone on maybe rubbing him raw, as well I had a cat at home doing the same. both animals have drawn blood scratching so I came into this appointment already nervous and desperate for help I couldn't seem to give to my pets. I called for an appointment which I was quoted $20 for just coming in to see IF my dog needed medical attention past the obvious ear infection I was already aware of. I wish I knew the name of the receptionist that took my appointment but they know because it's in the log of who booked the appointment. So I get there and end up getting jerked around from $300 some odd dollars to $500 something down to settling on $400 (while I'm on the phone with my fiancé trying to check our funds because again we were expecting a $20 checkup). For her to come back again and tell me $600 plus dollars to finally end up paying $500 For medication and services. They then failed to give me written or verbal instructions about how to give the dog treatments I don't understand. In fact the only verbal instructions were "obviously don't give him this until 30 min after that while walking out of the office. On top of all this I paid for a separate item for a pet at home that couldn't make it to the vet that day but still needed the item (a cone collar) and it wasn't given to me. I also only saw the doc for like 5 minutes and the vet assist kept commenting on my phone call when trying to discuss paying half a grand out of nowhere. I feel like I wasted my time and was robbed blind. I obviously wasn't robbed literally, but I feel taken advantage of and under helped and like I could've gone to PetSmart and done 5 minutes of research and bought some medicine to get the same quality of help for probably $50-100 instead. Check your receptionist quotes, guide your clients treatments, provide things paid for. Do better.

I almost hesitate to write a review because one cat had a laceration from playing inside our couch…read more(we didn't know there was a hole in it, which we immediately fixed up while the cat was at the vet) and we were able to be seen here the next day. The vet, a young woman, was incredibly kind, compassionate, and explained what was going on every step of the way. I highly recommend her, and my cat received great treatment from her. I took another cat in for a drop-off appointment. I called back after dropping him off because it had been 3 and a half hours since drop off, and if he needed any procedures I figured it would be cutting it close to closing if they hadn't seen him yet so I wanted to check in. I was put on the phone with the vet and my cat was ready, so I'm not sure for how long he had been ready to pick up. The vet, Seth Baker, immediately told me it was an anal gland rupture, then grilled me two or three times, asking "is that what happened" each time. I have no idea sir, I'm not the vet, this is why I took him to you for treatment. He then grilled me on this cat not having a rabies vaccine. He is indoor only (as is the other cat in the first paragraph) and his only interests are my lap and his bed. Not even interested in looking out the window. The vet kept saying "depending what plan he's on" the vaccine would be covered. The vet got more aggressive with me when I said no. With the multiple times he mentioned a "plan" I feel like this vet was more interested in selling me whatever insurance or wellness plan this vet offers than telling me how to take care of my cat at home for a very painful anal gland rupture. I wish I had told him, "sir, I just want to know what treatment he received, and what his healing process is going to look like, why this happened, and what I can do in the future so it doesn't happen again". In the meantime, he has what appears to be an open wound next to his rectum and I'm still googling what the healing process looks like and googling what medications he was given while at the vet. They also did not ask what form of medications on the antibiotics. Because of the cat described in the first paragraph, I know the antibiotic my second cat was sent home with came in both pill and liquid form. They tried sending me home with the liquid without offering both options. I am allergic to the antibiotic and it's very difficult for me to give the liquid to the cat without spilling all over myself, and I can crush up any tablet and give it to them. When I received the pills after politely requesting the change from the liquid, I found the pills were $20 cheaper, too. I really appreciate how quickly my cat could be seen, and I am sure he was treated well, but I was not. I also feel like I was being nickled-and-dimed and aggressively sold a wellness plan while the care for my cat was not explained.

The room is well mic'd for sound and the most recent setup of the room was classroom for 64, with plenty of open space for more room for tables and chairs. The only negative I have with them is how they handle their invoicing. They are the only therapy provider that we've ever dealt with (and we've used many over the years) that does not provide date of service detail, nor an indication of whether they've billed insurance and if so how much the insurance covered on their invoice. The problem with this is that if you have an HSA, as we do, then you are actually supposed to keep that detail on hand in case you are audited. What this means is I have to go back and ask them for the detail every time they bill us. Other Dr.s offices give these details automatically. Wilder has at times.
