After being a loyal client for over 5 years, I'm deeply disappointed in my last visit. I've always trusted this practice with my pets, which is why this experience was so upsetting. There's a new vet and several new techs, and from the start, everything felt rushed and disorganized. I called ahead and explained that each dog, one male and one female had different ages, names, and needs. Despite that, their care was still mixed up once we arrived, and I had to correct staff multiple times. What concerned me most was the lack of communication and thoroughness. My dog was quickly taken to another room, and the vet returned already discussing allergy treatment and a shot before ever really speaking with me about her symptoms, history, diet changes, or my concerns. I had to stop and ask questions myself because no one initially asked me anything detailed about what had been going on over the past several months. When I questioned whether allergies had truly been confirmed or if other causes had been ruled out, I felt met with impatience and a sense of urgency to simply move forward with treatment. I understand vets are busy, but I never agreed to immediately start injections without a more thorough discussion or evaluation first. As a pet owner, it left me feeling unheard and honestly more like another dollar to be made rather than someone whose concerns genuinely mattered. After today, I no longer feel confident in this practice and will be looking for a new vet who prioritizes attentive communication, compassion, and thorough care for both pets and their owners. read more

I took my cat in for an exam due to ongoing eye issues. The total came out to around $300 just for the exam, diagnosis, shots, and eye drop medication. Unfortunately, there's been no improvement in his condition, and we're still dealing with the same issue weeks later. I also brought three of my dogs in for their shots. The staff is very friendly and professional, and they clearly care about the animals which I appreciate. But be prepared: the pricing is not budget friendly. That said, the cost is about on par with most vets these days, so while it felt high, it's not out of the ordinary. Just don't expect low cost care especially if you're handling multiple pets at once. read more

Never I repeat NEVER take your pet there. Took our Daschaund in for a check up. Told us he had a tooth issue and they would remove it. They removed it and multiple teeth they did not tell us they were removing. They sent us home and he never improved. He needed up with anemia and died. I had a chihuahua that I took there a few years ago for surgery. My dog died immediately after surgery. He charged me over $800 dollars for the surgery. This pet doctor was very suspicious and didn't seem to care that my pet died. My advice is to take your dog to a reputable veterinary clinic. Check the reviews on the clinic. I went with my big dog ( Rottweiler). He is a sweet heart to anyone and anything. However instead of being sweet to him they decided to put him in a head lock multiple times after I said stop. Also when my dog went to get out of the head lock bc he has never been treated like that before. The dude holding him decide to slam him against the wall so he would stop moving. Then they wanted to put a muzzle on him. Idk why considering He did not growl or snap or show any signs of aggression when he slammed him or while in the head lock. I do not know why they thought it was fit to show him so much force. If that wasn't bad enough when we were trying to get his heart warm prevention they proceeded to try and charge me in the most expensive ways possible. I mean two heart worm preventions a tick medication and flea prevention all separately. Also if you want to get a prescription written so you do not use them you will be charged for w dollars just for a script. I would never take any animal there and I do not think anyone should. The only person who seemed to care about my dog and treat him in a nice manner was the front desk lady so DO NOT be fooled by her care for animals. These people are not animal lovers. read more

I am new to Rockwall, TX, a senior citizen without a decent income. I did look for and go to this vet for innoculations and then returned for a heartworm test and difficulties my dog had. The heartworm test was negative. I, however, did not receive a written prescription for this year's heartworm medicine which I order from Chewy. Chewy calls to get the prescription. This however, was blocked by Pet Doctor. So, I called Pet Doctor to ask that they send the info to Chewy. I was told that they would not. I (who cannot drive) was told that I needed to come pick up the prescription. I asked PD if they could mail it. The cost is $8 to send it by mail. I got info from Chewy so PD could send the script by email. They did not and set up an account for me with covetrus.com and sent a prescription to them. I received emails from covetrus.com saying that they have the prescription and I need to order it. No price!!! Finally, I found out that the med from covetrus costs 20% more that it does at Chewy. That's alot for me. I talked to a woman at covetrus and finally she asked me if I wanted to stop the emails I was receiving. We did that. THIS IS BAD BUSINESS!! No consideration for clients. All vets are not this way. I am still trying to work it out. But, I don't recommend you go here if you care about their business policies. MONEY should not be the basic desire of a VET. Caring for pets and fairness to customers should be IMPORTANT. . read more

We have been coming to Pet Doctor for over 10 years. We adopted a new chihuahua puppy last night and to every owners nightmare, we found out later that night that she was infested with worms. :( Although a common issue for puppies, it's still scary.... especially when you have other pets in the home. We tried medicating, but it didn't seem to help. We then called an hour before they closed and they immediately had us bring her in. They did the full work up and have her all the shots and meds needed. She is already feeling WAYYYY better! Instead of worrying about leaving quick on a Saturday, they were more concerned with our puppies well being. This is rare to find these days! Will never change my vet! our precious, mischievous, funny little rascal Sammy died this morning at only 3 1/2 years old.. we are so heartbroken and angry too. We took him to the Pet Doctor 7/16 and he was diagnosed with a urinary blockage from crystals that formed. They put a catheter in and kept him two nights. He came home 7/18 and was lethargic, which they told us would be normal. Jenna took him back to Pet Doctor 7/19 because of the lethargy and they did a quick exam, no lab work and they said he was fine. He was lethargic over the weekend, but drinking water and urinating. on 7/22, the lethargy seemed worse so I called Pet Doctor and was again told lethargy is normal and we didn't need to bring him in. I wrapped him in a blanket and drove him to the vet anyway and he died on the ride over. we can't imagine life without Sammy we are so sad read more

Unbelievable!! Just received a certified letter from Pet Doctor informing me that they will no longer provide service to my dog and sent all of her records from the last 7 years. Took our Jack Russell in for allergy shot in May. 2 weeks later we took her in because she had become very hoarse. Told vet she had coughed once the night before . They then sent her home with ALLERGY meds, cough meds, and antibiotics. She is a very active 10 year old and had started limping pretty bad so took her in for xrays to make sure nothing was broken. While there I asked about the medication they had sent home with her last visit. My husband is the one who usually takes her in and seldom asks questions but wanted to know why they prescribed more allergy meds after giving her a shot TWO WEEKS PRIOR and was informed the shot only lasted ONE MONTH. Okay... well it had only been 2 weeks and the front desk had told me the shot was good for 3 months! Apparently it is taboo to question them. I did not ask fto return the unused meds but they told us to return all of the unused meds and issued a full refund. A few days later they disowned us!! Lol Not only do they run a very questionable practice but they are a bunch of lofty jerks whose bottom line is money, not our fur babies well being. Highly recommend you go elsewhere!! read more

I've used this vet before, but finding a good one is hard. I didn't like the faceless care they gave my dog after covid was over. They left my PUPPY in a kennel by himself for 6 hours without calling me to tell me he was ready. I chose another vet who was awful, and in a time of NEED I booked an appointment again with PetDoctor IN PERSON. Since booking that appointment, I have yet to be able to get them to answer their phone so I can get them my dogs records, nor have they asked where to retrieve them from. After calling them for 3 days I've decided that I am not comfortable with a vet that cannot even answer a phone, and I would have cancelled my appointment properly IF anyone had ever answered the phone. OR maybe if someone would have answered the phone, you wouldn't be reading this now. read more

First of all, you are not allowed into the facility with your pet. Second, they do not tell you or put in the notes when your follow up is. In this case, a second set of puppy shots were required. My wife called in on 6-29-21 to inquire as to when the second shots needed to be administered. They told her it was on 6-29. My wife asked the receptionist, what day is today? She said 6-29. Killed my dog. Went in for a cracked tooth. But THEY decided it wasn't cracked WITHOUT X-rays. Thee days later, after a conversation and apology, we returned because my dog was still in pain. This time the tooth was removed. When i pick up my dog he refused to jump in the car and exhibited pain. I went inside, explained the issue, the male vet tech went near my dog and he jumped in the car, clearly frightened by the tech who was angry. That was at 4pm. By 5:30pm my dog still could not lie down and started moaning. When i called Pet Doctor I got a recorded message to use the emergency clinic in Sunnyvale. I took my dog on 25 minute car ride with him crying and moaning the whole time. At the emergency clinic I found my dog had a twisted stomach that can only occur if the dog is improperly rolled. Why do you need too roll a dog from one side over to the other side? You don't. The emergency clinic it was not a normal procedure. It would take a $7,000 surgery to save my dog. Well, I didn't have $7,000 so I had to pay $750 for meds, x rays and euthanasia supplies to end my dog's misery. Do you know that Pet Doctor NEVER called to check on my dog. In fact, they called 6 months later for my dog to come in for his shots. Incompetent, unprofessional and uncaring. They killed my dog. Be careful, they could kill your dog too. read more

Took my four year old Dane in for a cough with a "gag" at the end on a Wednesday. Was told it wasn't Bordetella and was prescribed antibiotics and a cough pill, was assured his lungs were clear as well as his throat. Dane seemed okay after five days, lingering cough. Day six, cough got wet and increased in frequency, took him back on that Tuesday. The Vet a checked and again said lungs and throat clear, it must be a GI issue. I assured him it was respiratory, but he insisted. Told me he needed to be back first thing in the morning to be sedated for x-rays to check for blockage and asked about his cough and was told it is a GI issue. Took him back the next morning and left him. Received a call from the other Vet (owner) asking questions and wanting to "get up to speed". I asked and was again told his lungs are clear. My Dane was sedated and then placed under anesthesia (I wasn't told he would be anesthetized). Vet called two hours later and told me he had died on the table. X-rays showed his lungs 75% full of liquid. I asked how did you miss this? You had three opportunities to make a proper diagnosis and missed. They discounted my bill to zero but couldn't give me an explanation as to how they missed this and let my Dane die. Discounting your work doesn't ease the suffering or pain. They saw him three times in a week and still he died on the x-ray table. With that day being Wednesday, the Vet said I could have his ashes back the following day. I asked if we could make it Friday and was told yes of course. I called Friday and they couldn't locate him, spent seven minutes on hold while they looked. I was then told he would be in Saturday and asked if I needed to call and they assured me they would call me. Monday, I called, still no sign of him, later they called and told me he was ready to be picked up. I asked why the delay and got an earful of attitude. I wrote the Vet and asked the same question as well as why the attitude. Asked who I spoke with and since I didn't have a name, he was unwilling to review his schedule or ask his team who spoke with me. Again, above and beyond. The owner wrote a book called "Creating Customers for Life". Too bad he can't keep them alive. read more

I've been going here for years for my 3 dogs and the wait is never more than 15min and people are nice. The doctor is very good and all the assistants try to comfort my dogs. Price is more expensive than cheap pet mobile shot places, but it's a full clinic and has to charge more. Make your own decision. This vet office is just flat out negligent. I've taken all my fur babies here due to affordability but that is not something I will do any longer. A year and a half ago I took my childhood cat in because he wasn't eating or drinking as much, was told he was in good shape and we got some medication to help with hair balls. He passed a couple months later from liver failure, which could've been detected prior. We continued to take our German shepherds back there crediting his death to old age. That was until we realized how much they like to brush issues and concerns under the rug. We took our oldest German shepherd in a month ago due to some weight loss and skin issues, and a bump on his chest. We're were told they didn't feel the bump, the weight loss was from his skin infection so he just needed an antibiotic and shampoo. This vet knows our dog has epilepsy (we've got his epilepsy meds from there since he was younger because they price match), we were sent home with an antibiotic and told the weight gain would follow. We gave him the antibiotic and once it was in his system he started seizing back to back more times in a day then he has ever had before. Brought him in the next day and was informed that the antibiotic they gave him has caused seizures in dogs with pre-existing issues with seizures. They monitored him with an IV for two days until the antibiotic was out of his system. They did that for free due to their error. My dog has since had issues with his motor skills from the severity of the back to back seizures. I am just LUCKY he is alive. We have since started going to a vet that is more caring and actually listens to our concerns instead of just prescribing something to get us out the door to see more clients. As well as actually doing a full work up and feeling the bump we were concerned about. If this vet is your ONLY option ask for Dr. Kalhoun- he is the ONLY doctor there that actually listens or cares about your babies. Kevin is a nice vet tech there as well, but unfortunately he or Dr. Kalhoun are not the staff your baby will see since that doctor is only for surgeries and Kevin handles other duties. Also LOVE that most of the receptionists are rude and have an attitude because when I'm concerned about my baby THAT is what I want to deal with. As well as charging me twice for exam fees that I had to go back and get refunded, and on a separate occasion for two flea preventatives when I only bought one which I also had to go back and get refunded. Check your invoices! Or better yet, just go somewhere else. read more

I have always used dr Webb once I met him and saw caring he was with my 14 year old and 4 year old. I had tried 2 other vets which my dogs were uneasy and I did not like what they were sayingDr Webb takes into ur feelings as well as ur pet and will not recommend extreme avenues. I bring my foster dogs here for their health checks and the staff has always been amazing! I even had to bring my own dog with me and the foster dog a few times because I didn't have anywhere else to take him (can't be trusted home alone) and the staff were always very nice about it even though he's a crazy husky who was kind of in the way while they checked the foster pups. They give great advice and very thorough health checks and I trust them completely. If they weren't 30 minutes from where I live I'd make them my dogs vet as well! I always recomend them to people who live in the area and if you're reading this, I recomend you see for yourself how much they really care for the well being of your pup. read more

My first experience at Pet Dr was when I moved to Rockwall, the Dr and staff began taking care of my 13 year old pug/chihuahua until she passed. They were so kind, supportive and caring to both myself and Sadie. When I got my new pug fur baby, I chose to continue with Pet Dr. Molly is now just a year old and Pet Dr did her initial care and just last week did her spay. I could not ask for better care. THEY DECLAW CATS. Any "vet" willing to declaw a cat should not be considered a veterinarian at all. They should already be completely aware of the consequences that come with declawing a cat. This only causes them to resort to biting which leads an owner to potentially wound up in urgent care due to how bacterial cat bites are. Also, according to the other reviews, the business and professionalism is clearly not so great either. Spend your hard-earned money at a REAL vet office. read more

I was a first time client and had to get my little teacup Yorkie in today because she was not breathing right. Even though they were booked, they had me bring her in and she stayed there until the vet could see her. Dr. Webb called me a couple of hours later and gave my little Molly the best care. He explained what he found and answered all of my questions. He gave her medicine and fixed her up. Even being a new client (which you get $1 exams!) and COVID and being booked today, they got my Molly in. The office staff was so nice and caring. I highly recommend the Pet Doctor! read more

It's been almost a year since my horrible experience with this place. My heart is still breaking as I ended up having my dog euthanized at another vet's office. Initially, they act like they care and are so much the animal advocates. They are really after luring you in and squeezing every dime they can get. To make a long story short, my dog needlessly suffered so much prior to dying. After I took him to another doctor, he was shocked at the treatment my dog was receiving from Pet Doctor and said in all his years of practice, he had never heard of such a thing. My dog is gone, he suffered, my heart is breaking, but I can be thankful I took my dog to another doctor and put an end to this terrible everything my dog was having. I'm thankful my other 2 dogs go to the new doctor and will not suffer the same fate. Again, BEWARE! My dog suffered all because this place was trying to get more money! read more

I made an appointment via the Yelp app, received my confirmation email and took my dog in. As I entered, there were three ladies working the front end, not one of them greeted us, I proceeded to let them know I had an apt for my dog and they said there must be a mistake we don't take apt on Thursdays. I proceeded to explain I received confirmation and made apt thru the Yelp app. They argued that they would not have confirmed that apt since they don't take apt on Thursday's. Obviously they did not want my service and at that point I didn't want theirs either, so we left. They did NOT call me or email me to let me know that my apt was not legit. How rude! Poor customer service! I'm thankful I found a better place for my dog. read more

Took my 1 year old puppy here to get vaccinations for the first time. Was very pleased! My first impression was that this place looked very clean. I was checked in promptly, and the waiting area is big and open which I liked. They had no problem helping me hold my dog while getting her nails clipped, and they gave her a heartworm test, 3 vaccinations and heartworm medication... After paying and leaving I realized I was in and out of there in 15 minutes! Couldn't believe it. I normally go to VCA but I'm getting tired of paying their ridiculously high fees and waiting over an hour to be seen on an appointment visit! I could tell that the vet assistant helping me wasn't trying to push any extra services on me either. Pet Doctor is my new place! read more

If i could leave zero stars I could. The staff doesnt have even basic knowledege of office policies and they dont care AT ALL about the animals. I was given the run around over the course of three days. Day one, the receptionist told me that the doctor would see our dog but i would need to wait for the office manager to call me and she was gone for the day. Day two, the office manager called me and ssid she wasnt sure if the doctor was willing to see new patients but she would ask him and call me back. Day three. the office manager has now said the doctor is not willing to see my dog. Why not tell me that on day one??? This dog needed urgent care and after being turned away by other local vets we were relived when we were originally told they would see him. What kind of quack vets office is this place? Now we have to start searching again for a vet. I am more then frustrated. I will be speading the word that this office is garbage!!! If you truly care for your animals- take them somewhere else. read more
