I heard the owner was grumpy but you will always get what you asked for so I expected her to be "all business" and that is fine. But as a first time customer with an eight-month-old puppy she gave me about 60 seconds or let's say being generous, maybe two minutes while she was working on another dog. She didn't even look at my dog while I was explaining what I needed and she immediately got annoyed with me. What did I expect? That she would put down her clippers come over to the counter and look at the dog with me. Give me time to demonstrate what I wanted. I gave her a picture and said I wanted her face like this but I don't want the body shirt. "I hate short hair." I just wanted her to trim 2 inches off the body and to leave the legs puffy. So what does she do? She hears 2 inches and she shaves her down to 2 inches. Because she didn't take her time to listen to me. She shouldn't have been so offputting and impatient. She made me feel insecure. And the cut is all choppy. You see nothing but choppy gashes even in the face. She's not an artist. I've had groomers that cut like they are doing human cuts. This was sloppy. And the beard is way too long. The only thing I said to her was, wow that's shorter than I expected. But there was no reason to discuss it because what could I do at this point? Annie, Pet Cuts owner is a single operator who is very busy and not keen on idle chit chat. Perhaps this is why some people find her "rude." I didn't come to her to find a new friend, but to have my two year old Golden Retriever Bubba clipped for the hot weather to come. She did a superb job! I would recommend her without hesitation. I have read many reviews of this business. Some people found the owner to be rude but I just thought she was intense and very busy. She was polite and courteous to me and did a great job on my dog. What more can you ask for? She was also prompt. She said drop him off at 11:30 which I did and she said he would be ready at 2:00. I was there at exactly 2pm and he was ready. I hate leaving my dog in a crate for 5 hours as many groomers require you to do. Her prices are very reasonable. Also, she mentioned that my dog had an ear infection and she found a tick on him. I took him to the vet that afternoon and got him treated. Overall, would say she is very on top of her business. I just moved here to Napa and will definitely be using her again. read more

She did not provide the cut we discussed, just cut him all over the same, saying "well it will grow out ."Did not cut his wiskers either, even though she was instructed to do so maually. My dog had white paint in spots on his black coat. There was remaining paint on his back, I pointed it out, she rebrushed his back, said, " well we washed him "and angry handed me the brush to do it myself, ( still did not come out). I have been taking our Dear Max to Pets Cut with Annie, who has been an amazing groomer since we started booking with them 5 years ago. Max is always excited to visit and happily jumps in the car for his grooming appointments. She is very personable, always paying attention to details and special requests. She communicates well and is diligent with all reservations made. In the 5 years we have been using their services we have always been satisfied with each visit knowing that they take pride in the care they give our dog. Max always looks wonderfully groomed, smells great and couldn't be a happier little guy after his visit. Max is always a fun and super energetic mascot but they always welcome him with the best smile and enthusiastic hellos. It helps that they always have great advice and kind suggestions. I've been bringing the pup here for years now and she always comes home happy, clean and nicely trimmed. Annie is not here to entertain you or learn your life story and she has always been kind and helpful to us. If you need extra TLC, ample attention or an extra shoulder to unload on this probably will not be your place. If you want a safe, clean environment for your dog in a place where they will be well groomed, make an appointment at Pet Cuts! Options are limited in Napa and Annie has been like a hidden gem here in for us, even after relocating to Seattle two years ago. We still try and schedule grooming around our travel plans each quarter so we can visit Annie at least a few times a year...seriously. Good cuts, be specific about what you want. Don't expect to pull up a chair and open a bottle of vino here; this is a busy place and the dogs get all the attention, as they should read more

My bichon came home in great shape after his first wash, nail trim, and cut (imagine a "country" bichon - frightful). Great price, happy dog, happy owner. The second time, the price went up $10, but worth it to me. The third time, I had forgotten if our appt. was at 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. I was told quite rudely that it was at 8:00. My husband and I laughed, knowing I wouldn't make an appt. at 8:00 on a Saturday to meet the Pope. She said she'd already taken another dog, but she'd try to fit mine in if I brought him in right then. Whatever. Everyone has a bad day, right? So hubby takes him down, says the woman was pretty rude, and when I picked him up, the price had gone up another $10. Too bad. Took my dog there an he was so freaked out when I picked him up. I don't know what went on, but she called my dog a "Devil Dog" I was getting him groomed to take him to UC Davis the next day..When I told the Vets there what she had said..they were shocked..they said my dog is the sweetest dog an has a great temperament, they wondered what she did to get him freaked out..I have talked to other friends that use to take their dogs there, but have stopped due to Annie's attitude.. She LOST MY DOG!!!! This was the worst thing I had ever experienced. It got "loose" from the leash when they took him out to pee AN HOUR AGO.... And never bothered to immediately call me!!!!! I found out my dog had been lost for an HOUR!!!! She was NOT SYMPATHETIC AND VERY RUDE!!!! Acted careless and just said that she was doing everything she could up get my dog back. We have taken our Goldendoodle to almost every dog groomer in Napa, and we always feel so sorry for her when she's done. Her hair is either choppy, her skin has razor rash/cuts, she's shaved completely down to the skin, or hardly cut at all, etc. It's been a nightmare & has taken us a whole 3 years to finally find people who know what they are doing! Today I brought my chihuahua here because I had heard pet cuts clips nails cheaper than anyone else in Napa. I found out though that cheaper also means cheap work. My chihuahua has a tendency to to very squirmy and scared so I warned the woman he was nervous but won't bite. She didn't seem to care and reached out to grab him. My dog then proceeded to pee a little on the half door blocking the front from the back. The woman then complains that my dogged pee'd all over and now she has to clean it up. I apologized and waited as she huffed and cleaned. We then tried again to put my dog on the table and he again tinkled. This lady freaked out and made me feel terrible that my dog was causing her an "inconvenience". As she cleaned again while huffing and puffing she continually yelled at the caged dogs crying and barking. After we finally got the nails clipped I examined them and was very upset at the half job she did. This groomer came off with a terrible attitude and made me feel horrible that my dog was so scared. That is not the place our pets need to be, I'd much rather pay more for better service and friendliness elsewhere. read more

Beware of the blonde woman at the front desk, like many of the other reviews state she is incredibly rude, and not the kind of person you feel good about leaving your dog with. I will never make the mistake of coming here again and am writing this review to inform people of what they can expect, which is a nonexistence of customer service, and a terrified dog upon your return. I can easily brush off someone being impolite to me because I understand it's a reflection of how miserable they must be, however the thought of this woman doing anything to harm my dog or any other dog is what motivated me to leave this review. Keep yourself and your dogs happy by avoiding this poor excuse of a grooming salon. read more

Guess I'll add my two cents to the above complaints....I dropped by without an appointment just to ask if they had time to do a nail trim. The woman, who identified herself as the owner's sister, huffed over with a very annoyed attitude, grabbed my dog and shoved a card my way without looking at me, stating "I prefer to do nail trims at the end of the day when I don't have a dog already on the table." Needless to say, next time I'll go across the street to Tails of the City. They haven't responded to other bad reviews so I don't expect they'll care about this one either, but if you plan on going there make sure you bring a thick skin with you. As for the lady with the rude attitude, maybe you should ask yourself if this is really the footprint you want to leave in the world since there is obviously a pattern of bad behavior here, not just an isolated incident. read more

We brought our little terrier mix in to Annie for "the works". I have had to groom him myself because he doesn't like his face trimmed and tends to snap. Annie and her team did a great job on Ziggy. I have taken my labradoodle puppy twice now to Pet Cuts (shame on me for the second visit!). The first time she shaved down our dog and said we hadn't been taking care of her and she couldn't get the knots out. The second time we took her back in the required 6 to 7 weeks like she asked. When we picked up our dog-shaved again!!! This time there are bare spots on her legs and her rear. The owner then proceeded to chew us out for not brushing our dog (not true). The owner does her own thing, doesn't listen, has kids helping her out.........very disappointing. We will be looking for a new groomer. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

I generally wash my dog myself. With the weather cold and my dogs nails needing some serious trimming I went to Pet Cuts. I've been there before in the past couple of years and have always been satisfied. This time, however, I really noticed the difference in the job they did vs the job I do. Even though my dog just received a "wash and dry" Pet Cuts took the time to do the little extras, like trimming long hair and special attention the nail trimming....and my dog smelled great! I like the fact when I drop my dog off I'm told when I can pick up, usually 2-3 hours. Thanks! read more

The owner had no interest as to how I would like my dog groomed not a poodle or any type of doodle cut and left her with a print out of how to cut around his head and tail. When I returned to pick him up, the instructions were returned and had obviously not been referred too, a section of hair had been missed all together. My wife took our dog in for the first time. Our old groomer moved out of town. We had our dog on a monthly grooming schedule with our old groomer. Because of the long wait time to get an appointment at Pet Cuts our dog's coat was longer than usual. The groomer my wife worked with was extremely rude and tried to make my wife feel like an !##hole for the condition of our dog's coat. Our dog came back shaved but otherwise she seemed ok. We will never go back to Pet Cuts. read more
