I am a first time pawmom of a 8 month old labradoodle. Been searching high and low for a place that specializes in "teddy bear" poodle especially labradoodle haircut. I brought my dog to a few other places and disasterous. Her haircut was always so choppy. I have taken my Rumi here twice so far and Everytime she came out perfect!!!!! She looks so darn cute. Her nails are trimmed, her private is also trimmed and nice. They really take time with her. Her coat is so fluffy. Just darling. The price is more than fair. I can't recommend this place enough. Michelle just does an amazing job every time. Even though I moved away, I will always drive back to Napa so my Rumi can get her haircut from Dog World. Jessica and Michelle of Dog World are both efficient, helpful with dog owner's needs and requests and friendly. The business is always so busy, that it is always hopping. I have appreciated and admired the grooming that Michelle accomplishes... especially with a fidgety Shih Tzu, who does not allow anyone to touch his face. I have been at the counter and witnessed customers upset on the phone where if they do not get in immediately, they tend to be upset. It is very hard to run a dog grooming business. I, for one, am very pleased with how they consistently groom my pup and also how they treat me. I have been to other groomers and have been disappointed. I'm glad I found a great place to take care of my requests. I highly recommend Dog World groomers. read more

We have taken our two dogs here for years, but not anymore. My mom picked up our dog today and she was covered in blood. They shaved her so close to the skin, that she has razor burn behind her ears, face and chest. One of her back legs wasn't cut. They offered to pay the vet bill if it came to that. Satisfied! I called to get my dog's nails clipped and said the sooner I came the better. I was there in 5 min. The nice employee (most likely owner) clipped them within 5 minutes even though my dog was a little antsy and jumpity with it. I appreciated her patience. I was more stressed than my dog. There were many "clients" being serviced which is a good sign the this business is legit. I will not hesitate bringing my dog there again for a nail clipping. read more

The women who work here really know their stuff. They are always very nice. At another groomer mut dogs would act scared to go in and one time my mini golden doodle came home to me with shave burns. NOT HERE THEY ARE GOOD TO GO IN AND COME OUT LOOKING AND SMELLING SO NICE. One other thing I appreciate is that they listen to you when you have a request. I am very happy with them. read more

I took my dog in for a grooming appointment. I asked for a puppy cut and when it was time to pick her up my sister went in my place due to an appointment I had. I asked for a puppy cut and instead I came home to an almost bald dog. This is not what I requested. She looks like a whole different dog. I paid $60 dollars for this. It's so uneven. I could've done this myself at home. Very unprofessional of them to do this without my consent. read more

Horrible experience! I left my dog with them for 4.5 hours and he still wasn't done. I decided to bring him home anyway unfinished. He immediately went outside to potty and drank a lot of water. The woman I dealt with was extremely rude and defensive. At one point I was worried she may have mistreated my dog. read more

The first time I took my dog there I wasn't very impressed. Unfortunately affordable groomers are scarce in this town and it being the holidays, they were also booked. I decided to give Dog World one more try. Unfortunately I am more disappointed this time than the last. Looks like they did a hack job on my fur baby. Her coat (which I asked them to shave down short) is different lengths and just looks like they shaved her down in 5 minutes with zero attention to detail. Bald patches on some of her coat. I could have done this bad of a job at home. Needless to say, I won't be back! read more

Our pup has been here at least 3 times. She's comfortable when we take her in, gets a great grooming and she's happy when we pick her up.

The lady at the counter was very nice & asked how I wanted my dog to be groomed & didn't try to put their opinion on how they wanted my dog cut. When I got my pup she was so beautiful & everything looked great. I could tell the groomers knew what they were doing because they were attentive enough to catch on that my dog began biting her leg hair a little. I have also inspected my dog and found no knicks or cuts on her which is a huge relief. They were very affordable too. Charged a good price without jacking up the price for froo froo apple scented shampoo & what not. I will be going back to Dog World as my primary choice of dog grooming in Napa. CASH ONLY!! Took my dog to have her claws clipped and anal glands expressed as my regular groomer, Tails of the City, is apparently no longer in business. They charged me twice as much as Tails used to ($30 vs $15) and the shop was FILTHY. Appallingly filthy. The woman at the counter was nice but that's just not good enough. I will never be back. We've used dog world for our little dogs for years and they always come home so beautiful and happy!! The staff is always so nice and super sweet with animals. From what I've seen, the dogs aren't stuffed in cramped cages while they wait for their owners to pick them up. I always feel comfortable dropping off my pup. They really take care of them. This place is the best of you want your precious dog well cared for by a loving staff. I have been taking my dogs to Dog World for well over 20 years. They always inform me if they find a growth or if they think something is not right. My dog is always happy to go get a great groom. The facility is older but I don't mind as long as my precious dog is well taken care of. I have an Australian Shepard so she has a long coat that takes special grooming. Very small salon next to a pizza place. Nothing fancy. If you want a more luxurious experience expect to pay almost double elsewhere. I usually come here when I'm desperate for my dog to get a hair cut and every place is booked and I'm in a rush. I have a Shih Tzu mix and they don't cut his hair in the cutest way (one star down for that) so I take him when he needs more of like a short cut during summer. Probably a better place for shorter hair breeds. Nice ladies in an odd location that get the job done for an okay price (~$45ish). And yea they don't really pick up the phone so one star down for that too. read more

I have used this groomer for years with both a standard poodle and my golden-doodle and they are terrific for a decent price. They ask if I want anything different or special each time and follow directions. They have also informed me of ear infection I would not have noticed otherwise. Always friendly and they work fast in the office section so I'm in and out in a flash. Good job! I recommend them highly although be prepared...they are not fancy. I recently moved to napa and I had to bring my bichon frise to this shop. As soon as I walked in I was hesitant to even hand my dog over due to the fact that this place is filthy! After my internal fight to hand over my dog I reluctantly gave in. When I came back (told to 4.5 HOURS LATER) to pick her up she was so shaken and her nails weren't properly cut and her face was completely shaven. Lets just say I'm never going back. read more
