He had Ear mits Kennel Cough Giardia Fast forward the cough got worse quickly and he had to be hospitalized in an ICU for 2 days. That bill was over $3,700 ! Fortunately, he has since recovered and I had to submit these bills to the Pet Zone people . I was reimbursed $3,700 ( purchase price plus tax ) so at least I got that back. Still out the money for the hospitalization. My advice, don't make an emotional decision and purchase a puppy from Pet Zone. My guess if we didn't take him, he would have been a goner. Finally at no time did we get communication asking about the dogs status. Don't buy here at pity the poor pups who land here.

Nice selection of leashes and a good amount of dog toys. They also carry items for smaller pets like hamsters and gerbils. If you are looking for travel pet carriers, they do have some. I don't love that they sell dogs here, so that's the only real con to this store. Would love to see them team up with a local rescue or humane society and give them space to showcase dogs who don't have homes. They also sell birds and smaller critters like hamsters.

I love that the rabies vaccines for dogs and cats are free with a suggested donation of $8 per pet. These days some pet owners can barely afford to raise their pets and every little bit helps! I brought both my dog and cat to the clinic held on a Saturday afternoon on Elm Avenue Park in Delmar. Everyone involved in running the clinic was so kind and patient. I didn't take photos of the clinic or the fur patients because some pets were extremely anxious and needed to be calmed down. I didn't want to complicate matters. They told me that my pets got vaccinated without a hitch. As long as you can provide proof of prior rabies vaccination, your pet can receive a rabies shot good for three years. The clinics are held through the summer and into early autumn. You'll need to check your county health dept. website under "rabies clinic schedule." I see that both Rensselaer and Albany counties will each be holding one more clinic in October. I really appreciate the work that the Humane Society does to keep our pets safe.

I recently adopted a little Chihuahua from them, she was from a shelter in South Carolina and came through their gracious network. From the time of my first inquiry with them to adoption I found their communication to be on point, clear, candid, and open minded. I spoke to Jennifer, Nancy, Marge, and others. I From the time of my inquiry to adoption was a time frame of about 2 weeks. My experience was they promptly replied to my emails, picked up my phone calls, would return email me back even late hours into the nights and weekends, this organization is obviously driven by a profound sense of service and devotion. I would probably mention that since they are volunteer driven, if you have your heart set an a pup with them and it doesn't follow up through to adoption, be patient, be kind, and keep trying. It doesn't mean you are not a good person or candidate for a dog! I invite you to keep faithful and remain patient , it will all be worth it in the end once you can connect with your adoptive family member. They are not a for profit business, they are a for-happiness and pro-altruism rescue. They are a 501c3. Offer to volunteer, foster, and keep an open heart and mind. Each dog is a unique individual and I would encourage you to understand that once the time is right you will connect with your forever baby. They followed up with me afterwards, assisting me with procuring multiple medical records from out of state, even going the extra mile to mail me microchip and rabies tags. They even patiently and lovingly replied to all of my updates that the dog they placed with me was thriving. Wow. I'm writing this because I cannot believe the happiness my little angel has brought to me, she came from a tough past and now it is her time to be treated like royalty. The first one was understandable because they have a rule against playing with new ones, the second one they failed at their job and didn't put a "I'm new" sign on the cage, the third one had been out too many times that day according to a worker. She was very rude when I asked to take that third puppy out and they lost our business at that point. I would not recommend this store to anyone horrible service.
