Dr. Cornish gave her ketamine for her spay and effectively killed her!

BEWARE! They give rabbits KETAMINE here!! My 8 month old rescued bunny was brought here this past weekend to be spayed. Without informing me or my friend who brought her there and waited to pick her up, Dr. Christine Cornish gave my bunny KETAMINE because she said that the anesthesia wasn't working. She was so dosed up, she took forever to wake. She died. DR. CORNISH KILLED MY BUNNY. In no way was ketamine necessary and she caused my bunny distress before a painful death. Do not bring your rescues to this shelter to be ficed and especially not Dr. Cornish

Jordy was SO KIND. She handled my anxious black lab so well, as did the whole team. They provided a muzzle for safety and treated her with kindness. Best humane society I've ever been to. Really care about the animals!

I highly recommend them…read morewhen you consider cat adoption or if you are looking to be a volunteer or donate funds to be benefactors for cats. The kitties are well cared for, and they have excellent vet care, and are spayed or neutered before being adopted out. I adopted two kitties recently who were rescued from life on the streets. Whiskers adoption coordinator was honest that these two kitties may not be lap cats for a while, if at all. One is eating out of my hand and wants human company. The other is shy, but will have the opportunity to adapt at his own pace with lots of love and reassurance at arms length. Most of Whiskers kitties are ready for your lap!!! Many had families who could no longer care for them or they were found as strays and obviously had families at some point! I highly recommend this organization!!!! They have kittens, adults of so many breeds. I feel they asked the questions on the application and interview to be sure I would be the right fit and provide proper care for these sweet kitties to have safe, loving, indoor homes for life! I adopted a senior kitty in 2019 who had been abandoned outdoors before Whiskers took him in. As I learned at the end of his life, he had survived being hit by a car in his previous life (my vet saw multiple healed rib fractures that indicated this.) So Whiskers gave him the opportunity to have a loving home that was filled with so many "firsts" for this little old man, toys, cat beds, furniture, warmth.... Oscar was so loved and did so well in my home with me and two senior cats. With Oscar's passing, kitties and I took time to mourn and opened our hearts and home in his memory to adopt Coco and Carruthers. They are family! Whiskers gave great guidance on the socialization process for these two precious fur kids to humans & my seniors. I think it is exceptional that Whiskers takes seriously approving potential families by checking veterinary care references and history or willingness and ability to follow guidelines for vet care. Friends who adopted from Whiskers Animal Benevolent referred me. I will be eternally grateful.

My experience with the capital District humane association has been nothing but magical…read more They are completely volunteer run and driven, and the attention to detail, care, and professionalism each person I interacted with exhibited was nothing short of exceptional The shelter will take the time to find the right home for the right animal, the foster families are truly lovely warm people , they really care about each animal. I recently adopted a little Chihuahua from them, she was from a shelter in South Carolina and came through their gracious network. From the time of my first inquiry with them to adoption I found their communication to be on point, clear, candid, and open minded. I spoke to Jennifer, Nancy, Marge, and others. I From the time of my inquiry to adoption was a time frame of about 2 weeks. My experience was they promptly replied to my emails, picked up my phone calls, would return email me back even late hours into the nights and weekends, this organization is obviously driven by a profound sense of service and devotion. I would probably mention that since they are volunteer driven, if you have your heart set an a pup with them and it doesn't follow up through to adoption, be patient, be kind, and keep trying. It doesn't mean you are not a good person or candidate for a dog! I invite you to keep faithful and remain patient , it will all be worth it in the end once you can connect with your adoptive family member. They are not a for profit business, they are a for-happiness and pro-altruism rescue. They are a 501c3. Offer to volunteer, foster, and keep an open heart and mind. Each dog is a unique individual and I would encourage you to understand that once the time is right you will connect with your forever baby. They followed up with me afterwards, assisting me with procuring multiple medical records from out of state, even going the extra mile to mail me microchip and rabies tags. They even patiently and lovingly replied to all of my updates that the dog they placed with me was thriving. Wow. I'm writing this because I cannot believe the happiness my little angel has brought to me, she came from a tough past and now it is her time to be treated like royalty. The real lucky one here though? It's me!
