I was in today not only was the parking lot not touched after the storm. Making it unsafe to walk and horrible on the cars. the waitress we had did not note anything we said on how we wanted our food cooked. I honestly don't understand what people see in Persy's. It's average at best. I've eaten here many times, many more times than I wish. The menu is huge but sometimes quantity does not equal quality. The atmosphere is pretty good, its a breakfast and lunch joint so its what you'd expect. The prices are a bit higher than other breakfast joints too, you'll probably end up spending $10 before tip for an average plate. The portions are huge, you'll definitely not leave hungry. But that's what I feel when I leave Percy's: Not hungry. I don't feel like I've had a good meal, or even something I couldn't make myself in the same amount of time. That's what Percy's does, it fills your stomach. But it doesn't make you want to make an event out of breakfast, bring out-of-town guests there or even recommend it to others. If you're in the area and looking for breakfast and lunch, do yourself a favor and head down the road to Dave's Diner or the Flat Iron Cafe. read more

I agree with other reviewers that the food does takes a long time to be prepared even though the place was pretty much empty. They do have a large variation. I ordered their Yankees and they are very nice in substitutions. They can substitute pancakes to waffle or french toast. The food are some what greasy. The place is definitely alright. read more

Went on a weekday morning. No wait which was good because on the weekends the line is out the door. For good reason too. I will say that my last visit wasn't ideal but it was largely due to the cook being new or so I was told by my waitress. Who btw was awesome. Very attentive, nice and informative. I've always had great food there, this time though it wasn't up to par but like I said the cook was new. I will definitely be going back and I'm sure it'll be better. It's a staple. After coming here quite a few times and having such a bad experience lately, I wanted to update the review. I'll leave the original below. The latest adventure to Persy's was much less that satisfying. We had to flag down someone to just get us started with coffee after about 20 minutes of sitting. Even then, the coffee didn't taste fresh at all. Our simple breakfast orders took about 40 minutes to come and even then the orders were wrong. It will be a long time before we bother with this place again. It is a shame since we really loved it prior to this vist. This is one of my all time favorite breakfast places. There are a lot of options on the menu, and it can be overwhelming, in a good way. Once you've decided what to have, a short wait later you will be enjoying the delicious plate. Haven't found anything yet that I don't like. Definitely get some corn bread, and ask if they brewed the snickerdoodle coffee if you like flavored coffee. Staff are usually indifferent, but will speak to you if spoken to. Buy a muffin on your way out for the next day's breakfast. read more

We just came from Persy's and I have to say that whenever I go elsewhere for breakfast my eggs never come out the way I want them. Today I have to say the chef ‍ made my eggs to perfection. The waitress Crystal was awesome. We will ask for her on our return. On another note the bathrooms need to be done over. Sitting in a stall that the door does not close right is not good. I would think your business does well enough to afford to renovate the bathrooms. We do love the atmosphere. read more

I'm just finishing now my bkft. (What I ate of it) the scrambled eggs were so greasy, the bacon undercooked and my toast was served to me burnt. I had to ask for toast not burnt and they brought mce 2pieces hardly toasted at all. My brother had homefries that were either burned black or so hard he couldn't cut them with his butter knife. Been here 2x. Very crowded each time. Food was too buttery/greasy even for a breakfast joint. I think it must appeal to the super-overindulgent eaters, which I am not one. I left my meal, which almost never happens. I got an egg sandwich and my egg was ordered scrambled but came out with a greasy, fried look and taste. Also, I ordered hash browns crispy but they didn't look crispy, just typical light, golden. I could not handle the egg sandwich and did not feel like sending it back; I got a fruit salad (Best value on the menu, looked like a pound of fruit for 3.99!!!) and felt better. Percy's Place is an excellent place to go for a delicious breakfast... if you are willing to pay for it. I have often visited this location with my wife and daughter, and we are all big fans of Percy's. The food is well portioned, delicious, but unfortunately a bit pricey. The service has been hit or miss here, though when it misses it isn't really that far off the mark. The service is sometimes a bit slow, and you may end up being served by a robot, but the food usually makes up for it. The parking lot is a bit interesting to navigate. Take great care parking in the front, as traffic does whip past the restaurant to and from the Middleboro Rotary. If you back out of a space without paying attention, you may well end up meeting some nice paramedics. read more

I have giving this place 3 stars based on the fact that they legit make almost everything in house, which you don't find at a lot of local breakfast places/diners. They serve breakfast and lunch (not sure about dinner), and they have a pretty extensive menu. The breakfast options are vast, if you're craving something, I'm sure they'd have it. I got the egg white omelet with asparagus and mushrooms, with a side of apple sauce and cottage cheese (some of you are probably thinking gross but I like it). One thing I'll say, you won't leave hungry, my omelet was huge. My complaint with the omelet itself was that they didn't chop up the asparagus, making it difficult/awkward to eat, and they used canned mushrooms, I like canned but I would have expected fresh, esp. since they do make a lot of their own stuff. There was water on my plate that seeped from the omelet, which happens sometime...... a little off putting. But it was still good. What made the meal.....THE HASH! The hash is legit, you want real homemade hash, and you're in the area, you come here. It was really good. The bf got it topped with holly sauce, that was yummy as well. He got pancakes and liked them, I didn't try, not much of a pancake girl. But seriously, go for the hash, that was the clear star of the breakfast. Pricing is very reasonable and it's a nice, fun, and comfortable atmosphere. I would come again. Good staff as well. read more

Local favorite, people get upset with the place because its a bit pricey for breakfast but when you have constant weekend lines to get in and serve homemade quality food why wouldnt you be more a bit more expensive? The good: -overall food quality is a notch above the other locals. Fries and eggs are standard stuff, where they rise above is the other homemade goods like the cornbread, toast, OJ, muffins and so forth.. -Menu selection. They clearly have made it a point to market themselves as having the largest breakfast menu in New England. Is it necessary? not sure but you can find some very unique offerings, some of which have prolly never been ordered like their fried seafood and eggs selections. -service. They know the menu, are quick and are much nicer than youd expect for weekend breakfast waitresses. -huge portions The bad: -place needs a good scrubbing. Not gross just doesnt feel overly clean and tidy. -Weekend lines without a large waiting area. -a bit pricey for breakfast. Combinations are $7-$9 without beverage The odd: Just one thing really but youd think with such a big menu they would offer hash potatoes or potato paties right? Nope. You can get a Scottish breakfast or catfish special but potatoes they only do one way. They should really fix that, thats just silly. read more

Percy's is amazing! I was passing this place on my way home, and decided to stop by and I am so glad I did. It became a weekly tradition for a long time. Everything I have had was delicious. The portions are great and the servers are so nice and helpful. That cornbread is so good, you have to get it and don't forget your coupon for your next trip! Once you get the cornbread home, put that bad boy on the oven, it is amazing warm with a little bit of butter! I highly recommended everyone go to Percy's! read more

Went there this morning with my family for the first time. Didn't know there are so many bad reviews about it but they are from a long time ago. The service was fine a little hiccups here and there with a wait for coffee refill. Then again, they were busy so that is alright. Food is good had their grilled cornbread as one of the side. I will say it is delicious. Mum had the BLT. Hubby had the Reuben, Verdict: Extremely good! Dad had the scrambler with their corned beef in it. He loved it! My biscuit with sausage gravy was not too hot though. I have had better but am open to trying other dishes like the honey dipped fried chicken and waffle. The cleanliness was okay. I will not call it pricey, they have a lot of items on the menu with the "Lower Price" label next to it. I guess the owner takes note of the price and lowered the prices on a lot of items. First visit to this location, have been to the one in East Providence a few times. The food was hot and delicious. The service was outstanding. I'm only giving 4 stars because of two things. 1. The coffee is so weak, its terrible. I switched it to tea which I have never had to do anywhere else. 2. I really found it annoying and unpleasant to eat while they were vacuuming the floor. If they have to clean a mess then please use a broom and dustpan. Neither of these reasons will stop me from going back again but if these two issues happen again it'll be my last visit. read more

I grew up in Middleboro so have always been a big fan of Persy's, but was really disappointed by my most recent visit. Ordered the avocado toast (which I've had previously and enjoyed) - was definitely given the bacado sandwich, but just open face. If you're unfamiliar with the menu, might be wondering what the big deal is. What I should have received: 2 pieces of toast with avocado slices, tomato, sea salt and an egg each (since I opted for the $2 upcharge for eggs). What I received: 1 piece of toast with a single egg and a few sad, tiny slices of avocado, and 1 slice of toast with 2 slices of tomato. With a bunch of bacon thrown on top, since I had ordered a side of bacon. We were in a rush so I didn't bother to send it back, so that's on me. But there are other breakfast places that I will frequent where the cooks actually know their menu before I'll be back again. Also (and this has been a long standing complaint) if you're a family restaurant, have a changing table in the bathroom! End rant. read more

My family and I stopped at Persy's Middleborough location for lunch today and were utterly disappointed. All four meals ordered (a habanero jalepeno cheeseburger, a Reuben, corned beef hash Benedict, and a children's grilled cheese) were lousy. The habanero jalapeno cheeseburger that is on special was a joke. It consisted of a frozen, concession stand-esque burger with shredded Mexican cheese (think taco cheese) five slices of jalapeno, and a Tabasco-style habanero sauce. The Reuben's pumpernickel bread was about 2" EACH SLICE, with a scant amount of corned beef and sauerkraut in between. It certainly appears that this was done deliberately to give the impression of a hearty deli sandwich, but it definitely was not. The corned beef hash Benedict was atrocious. The hollandaise sauce was "broken", with the eggs also being overcooked. Lastly, the children's grilled cheese was cold, how I don't know. Again, it was two overly and unnecessarily thick slices of sourdough bread with a slice of cheese in between. Rather than a traditional grilled cheese, this appeared to be two pieces of bread toasted with a slice of cheese in between. I've been patronizing Persy's Middleborough location for years and have had many terrific meals there, and it is for that reason alone that I did not leave a one-star review. There has been a noticeable decline in the quality of the meals there. Hopefully they can right the ship, but until then, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Three words: big let down. I'm giving it 2 stars because the host and hostess tag team were lovely and my boyfriend really loved the corn beef hash. I didn't mind waiting for a table (it's a breakfast joint that is clearly popular) but I did mind the prices and lack of flexibility in ordering. As someone who eats low carb, I was so looking forward to getting eggs, bacon and sausage. Apparently if you get eggs, you can only choose sides from their special sides menu which is pretty much all bread products and cottage cheese (gross). The side of bacon and sausage cost me another $6. Seriously? Way too overpriced and nothing to write home about! read more

Just had lunch here with a friend. The service was very good and the waitress was excellent. My meal however was lousey. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. There was hardly any chicken in it and no blue cheese dressing. I had to get it on the side. The waitress did offer to bring me a new wrap but I was hungry and didn't want to wait. My boyfriend and I went to the middleboro location on a Sunday morning. It was busy but not busier than any other breakfast place I've been before. First the parking lot was a mess. There were not enough parking spots and people were basically running people over to get to spots. When we went in it took a couple minutes to find someone to take our name down so we could get a table. The boy at the front who eventually found us standing there was quite rude and rushed us. When we finally got to sit down we didn't have menus or utensils, they came with them after we had been there for a little bit. I was finally so excited to eat and ordered something, however they were out of the ingredients...and didn't mention it to us beforehand. This happened with the table next to us too, with different ingredients. I settled for something else and got he hash Benedict. My meal was smothered in hollandaise sauce which was more like a creamy, thick cheese sauce and my meal was completely undercooked. MY EGGS WERE UNDERCOOKED!!! I ate part of a raw egg...I almost threw up at the restaurant. The waiter took forever to take our order, bring it to us, and then take the check. However he did walk by multiple times without paying attention to us. Just an awful waste of time and money. I am never going again. read more
