I'm going to start first with my one gripe and one observation about this place: Gripe: Portion size is absurdly small - the appetizer (chicken 65) and the main dish (butter chicken) came in the same sized tiny container and I was given the equivalent one one cup of white rice. Observation: they were having an event and the place was fully set up for that but they still took my order - great for me - but I felt like I was intruding on this family who clearly had paid big money for this party. Now on with the show - I ordered take out on the app - very convenient - Chicken 65 and Buttered Chicken. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS! Best in the area - almost as good as Mejwanni in Edison. I'm going to go back again for sure but will concurrently order from The Chozas on Rt 33 to compare and contrast and report back. I really do hope they rethink their portion size - that truly is the only negative I can call them out for. read more

My husband has had Indian food all over the world, often with Indians, and he professes this was the very best! I loved mine just as much. Lovely dining area, weird parking but worth it. Went for a lunch with friends, a group of 24. Called them up and they arranged table for us all separate from main area. Food was tasty and there is quality. Some of my friends are vegetarians they liked the food too. Non veg was spicy and tasty. All of us liked every dish we ordered. Kids loved their mango lassi. Malai kofta was Tasty and creamy. I really enjoyed Persis. Service was friendly and food was delicious. For lunch, there are no lunch specials. Prices are a bit high for lunch. Also, if you're in a rush this is not a great stop for a quick lunch. Food took a while to come out but it was fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself is very spacious and modern. Great employees but they sell nasty and stale food. Its a ripoff. I have had bad food more that once. At an event they had menu items and when you order from the list the will say they ran out and only serve the item they want to. Example: I asked for paneer tikka the first time they gave me one piece, when I went again they said they don't have it anymore. I noticed they served only one piece to others as well. They also had chilli chicken and chicken manchurian on the appetizers list. They both looked exactly same, the difference was that they topped the manchurian with sautéed pepper and onion. Very good food but our service was very slow. It took about an hour for our food to arrive after ordering, even the naan bread. Prior to that we just sat and waited patiently as even people sitting near us that arrived after us got their food. Also we were not comped after they spilled a mango Lasse on two diners in our party. The same guy who spilled the drink also messed up delivering food to the people who ordered them. Unfortunately those two things kind of marred the experience for us. The food itself was a 4.5/5 To be fair they already had a couple of big parties going on at the time. The chicken and lamb vindaloo were both very good. As was the palak paneer and paneer makhani. Chicken biryani was really delicious and the highlight of the meal. It sometimes is dry at Indian buffets but it comes out here stuffed into a loaf of bread and really is juicy and delicious. It even has a hard boiled egg inside. The garlic naan bread was tasty but the spicy naan was pretty dry. Prices were ok. Not cheap but not too expensive for Indian. Maybe 15-20 for an entree. Between 8 adults sharing with 5 kids, we paid $37 per adult with some leftovers to take home. read more

The lunch briyani was a bit dry. The goat in it wasn't too bad. I ordered the meat lunch platter. It comes with a carb of your choice, with extra cost if you get a meat based briyani. The goat was a suprisingly large chunk, but the briyani was just dry. The 2 sides of meat weren't too bad. There was a chicken in a gravy, but not sure what it was called, but i enjoyed it. Another breaded and fried chicken tossed in an sweeter sauce. This is probably much better fresh. The roti tasted like they were reheated and not fresh made. Unfortunate that Indian food can taste this bad in New Jersey. I could have got frozen food from Traders joes which tastes better than this. The chicken Biriyani was awful, frozen and reheated Chicken 65 seems to be frozen as well. We just threw the Biriyani and glad we had some leftover food at home. Good food! Goat biryani was flavourful and had nice, well cooked rice. (Not always the case). We'd asked for a well done roasted chicken and it was well worth it. There is ample seating during lunch to call a big group without making reservations,it's well spaced out (almost too much). Come for a nice meal, you won't be disappointed read more

Forewarning: I am extremely particular with Indian cuisine. The food yields 3 stars. It was reasonable, but unfortunately nothing that knocked my socks off! I found that the complimentary farfars were exceedingly oily; it came with a mango chutney that was also subpar. The Gobi 65 was fine, slightly on the soggy side - food coloring made it look better than it tasted. For entree, the Kadai Paneer was also just okay. The paneer was too soft for my liking, but they definitely did not cheap out on the quantity. My fiance and his fam had the Butter Chicken, but they thought the chicken was overcooked. The naan was the saving grace! Buttery and fluffy - just the way naan should be... delicious! What brings my rating down to 2 stars is how pushy our waiter (whom I'm assuming is one of the managers) was when choosing what to order. He insisted we'd like certain dishes and kept insisting we order them. We caved and ended up ordering the biryani. Then, we told him there was a birthday in the family and he kept persisting we order the halwa. Despite me saying I don't like halwa, he was pushy about it. We said we'd let the birthday boy chose when he returned from the restroom. We ended up ordering the brownie sundae, which came out without a candle... Confused, we questioned it discretely and he brushed it off and brought out another sundae after we were done with the first with a candle. It was $12.99 for this brownie... absurd! Mind you, if we were given the menu like we asked for rather than just verbal options - we would've noticed the pricing and known that that tiny sundae was not worth the same amount as an entree. It also had a distinct Indian taste, and my taste buds were not a fan. I rarely go out for Indian food but this is a great place down the road from the house. I like to try something different each time I go...this time it was the tandoori pomfret and buttered chicken with roti and naan! Let me just tell you...not disappointed! SOOOO GOOD!!! Highly recommend! We ordered through the restaurants online ordering system. The menu is huge and a bit overwhelming. If you go on the restaurants website and just click menu then you see a bunch of tasty pictures of the dishes BUT when you start the online ordering process there are EVEN MORE options! We started with the vegetable pakora, which I am always a fan of wherever I go. This pakora also got high remarks from my partner who typically does not even like pakora. We also had the samosa chaat (samosa topped with chutney and other deliciousness), which I don't always see on Indian restaurant menus. It was so tasty and filling! For our mains, we had the Navaratan koorma, which has a delicious cashew/almond gravy sauce, and the paneer burji (this you only see if you click on "Order Online" on the website). The paneer burji was also very tasty and looked almost like scrambled eggs, which makes sense because I learned that burji means scrambled! We got our family staples - Chicken Biryani and Chicken Makhni, and both were exceptional. We share with two young kids who don't like spice so we ordered mild, but the flavor was outstanding and rich with an amazing aroma and depth of scent and flavor. Went there on a weekday dinner to grab takeout. Ordered some biryani and butter naan. The naan was slathered with raw garlic that did not cook like it should have, tossed into a bag and dished out. The Pardha biryani was in a pool of oil with uncooked rice over the top. All dished out in a hurry. Unfortunately we had a 2 hour drive back and discovered the terrible food after reaching our destination was late I couldn't call back and give them a piece of my mind but this review should pass on that message loud and clear. This place has gone down the tube over the years if they do not have experienced passionate cooks to cook they really should shut down. This kind of service is totally unacceptable. I found this business on Route 9 Community business card (which offers a 10% discount off of your check without stipulations). I checked out the menu and couldn't wait to try it. We had a variety of dishes but the ones that stood out the most were Paneer 65 appetizer and the Palak Paneer dinner. The first time we went the food and service was amazing. It was so good that we couldn't wait to try it for a second time. So we went last night and it was nothing like the first. The food was excellent (attached is a photo of Kadai Paneer, Onion Kulcha, and Palak Paneer) but the service was horrible (which it shouldn't have been since we were the only table at the restaurant). After finishing our meal we provided the discount card and the waiter said "your card didn't work and I don't know how to use this". He charged the full amount to the credit card without a solution. There was no one else in the restaurant to speak with regarding the issue. We will not be returning to this location after our experience last night. This place has declined greatly in quality and increased in price over the past year or two. The butter chicken is dry and not boneless like it should be, with cartilage, and has a bad after taste. Past two times the palak paneer has tasted like the smell of garbage (sorry if i sound harsh but I'm not making this up.) Such a shame. They were so good. I actually had a drafted review saved from a year ago.. "Great and delicious food!" Well now that has changed. My order was more than $60 for two entrees, bread, and lassis, and they couldn't even honor the $4.99 discount code I received in a text message from them... when I went to order online it kept saying it was invalid, and I mentioned it wasn't working but there was no credit made to my cc.
