Tiki Masala and Butter Chicken dish
    Wendy B.

We have been a few times and the food and service are amazing every time. Teju is the server there and she is so nice and friendly. We order the Butter Chicken dish and Tiki Masala dish with Garlic Naan. We always have leftovers and it's just as good for breakfast!

Took mom for lunch on Sunday. Goodness it was fabulous. The service is impeccable. I ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala and she ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and a side of Naan. The flavors were amazing. Our server gave us a complimentary dessert of a mango type pudding and it was such a nice complement to the lunch. We will definitely be back!!

We had lunch today. Service was great and servings were plentiful. The butter chicken had a very nice flavor and the garlic naan was tasty.

My dad went here for lunch on Monday and brought some food for us. We had the vegetable korma,…read moresweet lassi, and ras malai to take home. The vegetable korma was plentiful and basmati rice was included. The korma was creamy with the cashew paste and had an ample amount of tasty vegetables. The korma was also on the milder side, but still has some spices for me to enjoy. The rice was cooked nicely to enjoy the korma with. We also had some onion nan, which was pretty fluffy, and soft after putting it on the korma. The lassi was on the thicker side, but still very enjoyable as the the yogurt texture made the drink more authentic. The ras malai for dessert is always my favorite, and this was no exception as it was 4 ricotta cheese balls in a milky sauce that had a hint of rose flavor. All food and drinks were very satisfying. Since my dad had all the food to go, I am unable to comment on the service and atmosphere. However, I know this restaurant is owned by Uday (who used to have Passage to India) in International Drive, so I knew this place would be high quality. This is a great Indian restaurant in the Clermont area, and worth the drive for people closer to Orlando. Overall: A

I would love to come back and dine in. They were making fresh naan when I arrived, so I had time to interact with the staff. Multiple people came to check on me in the short time I was waiting. They were all very nice. The food was so good! This may have been the best Indian food I've had in the Winter Garden/Clermont area! The chicken tikka was flavorful and delicious, even though I only got mild. (They have an array of spice levels for all of the dishes. For reference, the mild has absolutely no heat, so anyone afraid of heat, you don't have to worry!) The samosas were yummy, and the garlic naan was fresh out of the oven. It's a 30-40 minute drive for me to get here, but I'll definitely be back!

Now menu can be little complicated if you haven't try Indian cuisine , which brings back the important part of staff be more engaging with customers to get a great sense of what you serving , maybe any specialties of the chef ? . But food was great , was brought up very fast and it was great flavor and presentation. Place has plenty of seating space but I think been this place so inside in the shopping center is really hide out , if you can show more from street that you are there I'm sure people will try your business more ... So overall great food , great prices and great inside ... little work to been seen from street and staff to be more engaging and you could be 5 stars.... Btw restaurant name now is red chilly's

I've had a lot of Indian food over the years from many different places, as it's one of my favorites. This place does it very well. Everything was fresh and seasoned perfectly. I had high hopes walking into Saffron Indian Cuisine on 7724 West Sand Lake Road, Orlando FL…read more especially arriving right at 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday when the doors opened. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. My wife chose the buffet, assuming everything would be freshly prepared at opening time. To our surprise, every single item on the buffet line was cold -- from the rice and chicken dishes to the biryani and palak paneer. If a restaurant opens at 11:30, the food should be hot and ready to serve. Cold curries and rice immediately take away from both texture and flavor, and in this case, the dishes tasted flat and lacked the depth of spices you expect from Indian cuisine. Based on this visit, I would recommend skipping the buffet and ordering from the regular menu instead. Buffet selections often feel like the more economical options, and here they were devoid of the bold flavors that make Indian food so memorable. I ordered the chicken biryani from the à la carte menu. It was noticeably better -- aromatic and more flavorful than the buffet items. However, it still missed an important element. Traditionally, biryani is prepared by marinating the chicken and cooking it together with the rice so the spices infuse the meat and every bite is cohesive. In this case, while the rice carried some fragrance, the chicken itself was not well marinated and tasted bland on its own. It felt more assembled than thoughtfully cooked together. Another important point is pricing. The dishes are on the expensive side, and at those prices, the flavors and overall quality should be excellent. When you're paying premium prices, you expect depth of seasoning, proper preparation, and attention to detail -- not cold buffet trays or under-marinated meat. Service was the bright spot of the visit. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our meal. Overall, not a terrible experience, but certainly disappointing. With better attention to temperature, flavor development, and consistency, this place could justify its pricing -- but on this visit, it fell short.

The restaurant was empty, out there was another Indian couple eating, so I thought that's a good sign. We visited for a late lunch on a Friday. I asked about the lunch specials which they have from 12 to 3, I think it's only weekdays but not for sure. The deal gives you so much variety and it's only $13! It comes with a main dish, two apps, soup and a dessert. Pani puri to start with the green shots, the dahi puri comes with a yogurt sauce. Samosa was perfect and I ordered the Chilli chicken with fried rice. It was soooo good, I ordered it medium but it was pretty spicy. I really loved the flavor, so unique. My husband ordered the chana masala, which was also very good. I loved the sweet ending with 1 gulab jamun, covered in the typical honey sauce. I wished there would have been more than one, but everything was excellent!!

The bhaji was fried with mostly onion and potatoes, and pretty good with the mint chutney provided. The soup was more flavorful, with either tofu or paneer and the broth having both Indian and Chinese spices. I went with the butter chicken for my main plate, and request hot level spice. My mom ordered the misal pav, while my dad took the green curry with paneer. My butter chicken was good, but there was no heat noticeable. While I tasted some spices, there was no fuel to any fire. The chicken was a bit in the tougher side, but still enjoyable because I believe it had tandoori flavor. My mom's misal pav had more heat, and was good with the lentils. After adding onions and other toppings, it brought the Indian street food flavor. We took rice instead of the bun. My dad's green curry was also good, but on the sweeter side. The paneer as the requested protein was consistent in the texture. For dessert, we took two orders of ras malai, which was homemade. It was definitely a legit dessert with the ricotta cheese balls in the milky sauce with Indian spices on top. Just delicious! After finishing the food, we all agreed that it was quite enjoyable. The service was attentive and it was table service, but there were some things we had to do ourselves. A large bottle of water was provided, and we have to fill our cups ourselves. We also had to move our used plates and items to the side of the table, the made the space quite cramped. We also packed the foods ourselves to take home. However, our server was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very casual, with various movie posters on the tables, and the music playing classic Indian movie songs. The dining area is small, but it was pretty quiet with not many people when we were there. Mirchi is located in a strip mall in Colonial and Dillard Street intersection, and parking was not difficult. Mirchi reminds me of a smaller version of Bombay Street Kitchen, with just a smaller dining area and more limited selection. I wish they still had South Indian options like dosa, but they stopped about two months ago. Still, for street food, it was quite enjoyable, and the prices were reasonable. We paid about 85 dollars after tips. Just expect casual, no frills atmosphere. If you are looking for a more upscale experience, their sister restaurant, Cilantro is a couple miles away in downtown Winter Garden. With the good Indian food at reasonable prices, we will come back, and also give Cilantro a try as well. Overall: B

The ambiance is nice with music playing, but it's quiet enough to enjoy your meal or conversation. The only critique I have is that I felt looked down upon for eating solo. I was ignored for the first five minutes, then given an incredulous look when I ordered so much food. (Hello leftovers for two more meals!) And I was questioned by staff twice if the spice level was okay, which I felt came with a judgmental tone since I requested medium, not the owner-recommended mild. The owner also tried to take back some of my to-go containers while I was still boxing up, which was awkward, then asked me to leave a review... I'd come back for the food, but probably just to-go because the service wasn't with a smile.
