I got the spicey and I can't imagine getting spicier so maybe stick with that one and not the Indian spice. Was pleasantly surprised by the onion bhaji! We walked in thinking this was a takeout place because of the name. It turned out to be a very nice sit down restaurant and we were very underdressed. The food and service was very good. They are a tad on the pricey end but compared to other spots, I'm happy to pay the premium for good quality food. Let me start by saying the food is actually quite good. We ordered the onion bahji appetizer, and I had the lamb sag. Both excellent. If you are doing takeout, this place could be a 5. The low score reflects three things than impacts the dine-in experience: 1. poor service in the form of one tray appearing one minute before the other (why not wait to bring them both out together?). That said, both dishes were served nice and hot. 2. I came in January for a sit down dinner, and the dining area was ice cold. Not sure if they never planned for cold weather, or if something broke. I came in with a group of five and we had to repeatedly wave someone down just to get basic attention. Wow, first time coming here and I have to say that the Indian food here is quite authentic! The restaurant is located across from agave azul. It's not a huge space and it seems like many people tend to do take out orders. We chose to dine in and I'm glad we did! The waitress was friendly and service was prompt. I ordered the Mango Lassi along with the garlic naan and paneer tikka masala. The waitress asked me for spice level and I chose medium. The mango lassi came out first and it was delicious! It had a rich mango flavor and the fact that it was chilled was a plus. I've been to restaurants in the past where the lassi was lukewarm when it really should be chilled. My paneer tikka masala came with rice and I have to say the paneer was fresh. It wasn't like a store brought paneer but soft in texture like it was just made! The curry had the right amount of spice to my liking. The cumin rice was great and seemed to be freshly made. The garlic naan that I ordered along with the cheese naan, my husband ordered came out a few minutes later. I could tell it was made in a tandoor aka clay oven which was great. The garlic naan for me was a bit of a miss as I could not taste the garlic flavor and the naan was more on the well done side. You can see the charred black spots from my pictures. Had to come back and give lunch a try. Food was fantastic again. Lunch portions are huge. I have lunch for tomorrow. Once again they brought water to the table but again some tables given ice some not. We were not so asked for it. I think it should be asked I think it's smart to not assume either way. The male was much more attentive he kept on eye on everything going on and was on top of food coming out of the kitchen as well where as she was nice but spent a lot of time on her phone. My mom ordered the chicken Tikka Masala she was going to order medium but I suggested mild since I know the medium had a kick and she needs it to be on the lighter side when it comes to spice level. This was our first time here. It has a cool vibe inside and the fragrance smell that greets you when walking in is heavenly. I ordered a mango lassi, yogurt drink with flavored mango. It was so creamy and tasty. Hubby ordered a Taj Mahal lager beer which wasn't too bad he said. This place is much nicer than I was expecting! The previous tenant was a counter service concept, but this is a full restaurant with table service. And the service provided by our server, Anna, was, indeed, great. Even greater was the food! I've had Lamb Korma in Indian restaurants all over the world, and I've never had a better, more complex version than this. The Chicken Saag was also good. We started with Papads, which were delightfully crisp. The Vegetable Samosas were nicely stuffed, and just the right amount of spicy. Lunch pricing is very reasonable, and the portions are generous. Updating my review. I went back and this time ordered takeout. I used the online ordering system from their website, which charges a fee by the way- kind of disappointing. I wasn't sure if calling in would do the same, so I just went ahead and used it, plus then I could pay ahead. The system said it texts you when the food is ready but what was odd is I never got any kind of email confirmation or receipt. I did get a text that my food was ready and went and picked up. I had ordered chicken korma mild. The naan was cold so I'm not sure if it had just been sitting waiting or what. The chicken korma was definitely not mild. It was at least medium if not more. Unfortunately because there was no receipt emailed, texted, or in the bag there was no way to confirm that it was rung up correctly, which was disappointing. We were in the area and decided to stop to order some items to take home for dinner. We were greeted and directed to the counter to order. The employee there seemed new to the register, but was very sweet and still was able to help us out. We ordered 3 different Naan breads to try and I ordered the butter chicken. I was asked about the spicy level. I requested not spicy/no spice added. We also ordered a chai tea as well with the meal. The items came out quickly and were nice and hot for us to get home to eat while still hot. I didn't even realize that we never got our tea and we lived far enough away I was not going to drive back or call since it was not that big of an expense (really wanted to try it thought). The butter chicken was still pretty spicy for my preference and what I have had in the past. I did have the amazing Naan bread and white rice to cut some of the spiciness, but could not eat that much of it after awhile. Naan Stop's server Ally was delightful and informative. The level of spice is often a challenge for Americans. If you aren't familiar with spice levels start lower and go up on each trip. The masala had chunks of peppers which I found to be different from other Indian restaurants. The naan breads were also delicious. My only complaints are: If you ask for extra rice, they do charge $3. All the other Indian restaurants I've dined at offer it for free. ($6.95) The Onion Bhaji is seasoned onion dipped in chickpea batter and fried. It was prepared perfectly...nice flavor without the oily taste. The Vegetable Samosa was my favorite of the two. It is a pastry stuffed with peas and seasoned potatoes. For entrees we went with the Lamb Vindaloo ($22.95) and Butter Chicken.
